Match 2

Sticky Item:

Fri Feb 19 - Mon Feb 22

10:00 Local/13:00 GMT

Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad

Over by Over:
Thank you very much for joining us over the past four days. We trust that you enjoyed the proceedings and the coverage. Join us on Friday from Grenada and St Lucia for the final round.
Man of the Match has been confirmed as Amit Jaggernauth for his match haul of 9 for 105.
BOWLING: Gabriel 12-1-52-1, Stewart 11-4-33-1, Jaggernauth 15-2-4-47-5, Khan 17-3-63-2, S Ganga 5-1-15-1.
Amit Jaggernauth has staked a strong claim for Man of the Match with that five wicket haul 15.2-4-47-5. He took 9 wickets in the match after his 4 for 58 in the first innings for a match haul of 9 for 105.
RESULT: Trinidad and Tobago win by 155 runs. They take 12 points and move to 33 points while the Windwards remain on 16. Windwards now drop down to the bottom of the table, below Guyana how were the previous cellar dwellers. Guyana beat Leewards and now move to 19 points. T&T now move into third position on the points table behind Barbados (57) and Jamaica (48). There will be a big final round clash between T&T and Jamaica in Grenada at Progress Park. Jamaica must beat T&T to take the title. If they fail to Barbados will win the tournament.
61ov [1 W] 217 all out: Peters 8*.
WICKET: N Pascal c S Ganga b Jaggernauth 5. 217 all out. That's the last wicket. Pascal goes high and hard over mid wicket but Sherwin Ganga is out there and the strong breeze ensures the ball stays in the field of play. Ganga settles under it and catches comfortable. It's over for Windwards, 15 minutes before lunch.
60ov [. . 4 . . .] 216/9: Peter 7*, Pascal 5*. Pulled away for four by Pascal.
59ov [. . . W 1 .] 212/9: Peters 7*, Pascal 1*.
WICKET: R Lewis c Barath b Jaggernauth 61. 211/9. Lewis is looking to get on with it and goes wide of long on but cant clear the ropes. Adrian Barath runs around and takes a sharp running catch. That was very well judged by the little man. Nelon Pascal is the last man.
58ov [. 1 . 4 2 .] 211/8: Lewis 61*, Peters 7*. Brutish first delivery by Gabriel. That flew past Lewis nose! My word that was fast. "Ooohs" and "aaahs" from Ian Bishop and Tony Gray here in the media center. Peters edges past second slip for four.
57ov [W . 1 . 1 .] 204/8: Lewis 60*, Peters 1*. Jaggernauth now has seven wickets this match.
Kenroy Peters is the number nine batsman.
WICKET: D Butler c&b Jaggernauth 1. 202/8. How soft was that? Butler tamely pats it back, ever so gently, to Jaggernauth who must have been surprised how easy a catch it was. He takes it without any problems. Windwards could lose before lunch. Just two more wickets for T&T to get.
56ov [1b . . . 1 .] 202/7: Lewis 59*, Butler 1*.
55ov [. . . W . .] 200/7: Lewis 59*, Butler 0*. Second wicket taken by Jaggernauth, he now has 6 in the match, having taken four in the first innings.
WICKET: G Mathurin b Jaggernauth 31. 200/7. Mathurin goes down the track to a faster delivery which is squeezed between bat and pad and has his middle stump displaced. Windwards lose Mathurin who was batting well. Deighton Butler comes in.
54ov [. 1 . . . 4] 200/6: Lewis 59*, Mathurin 31*. 200 up as Lewis clips one off the pad and it screams to the fine leg boundary. There is a man positioned out there but he's not quick enough to cut it off.
BOWLING CHANGE: Ian Bishop has just arrived in the Gerry Gomez Media Center and he is happy to see that Daren Ganga has tossed the ball to Shannon Gabriel. Bishop wants to see some pace, we all want to see pace. Lewis and Mathurin may not be as keen though. Gabriel bowled venomously yesterday, can he repeat?
53ov [. 1 . 1 . .] 195/6: Lewis 55*, Mathurin 30*. That's drinks. Windwards have lost just one wicket in the first hour and have scored 66 runs this morning in 17 overs. They would be happy with that performance.
52ov [1 1 . . . 4] 193/6: Lewis 54*, Mathurin 29*. Mathurin goes onto the backfoot and smashes a shortish delivery through extra cover for four. Quality shot that.
That six also brought up the 50 partnership between Lewis and Mathurin. They've put on 52 thus far. Can they make a match of this? Windwards are 184 behind that 373 target. They are still a long, long way off.
51ov [1 . . 2 . 6] 187/6: Lewis 53*, Mathurin 24*. Rawl Lewis reaches his 50 in grand style. He goes down on one knee and smashes Jaggernauth straight over his head for six. Tremendous shot. 58 balls, 4x4, 3x6.
BOWLING CHANGE: Imran Khan is off and Amit Jaggernauth comes on.
50ov [. 4 . . . 1] 178/6: Lewis 45*, Mathurin 23*. Mathurin sweeps and Adrian Barath on the backward square leg boundary misses the ball and takes off the in wrong direction. When he realises he was chasing air he turns around but the ball had already hit the boundary rope.
49ov [. 1 4 . . 1] 173/6: Lewis 45*, Mathurin 18*. That's an old school English cover drive. Mathruin goes down the track, stands on front leg, lifts the back leg like a sprinter in full flow and drives through covers. Vintage.
Rawl Lewis is approaching what would be his third half century for the weson. He made two against Jamaica in Round One.
48ov [. . 1 1 . .] 167/6: Lewis 44*, Mathurin 13*.
BOWLING CHANGE: Navin Stewart (11-4-33-1) is off and Sherwin Ganga gets a bowl.
47ov [. . 6 1 . 1] 165/6. Lewis 43*, Mathurin 12*. Lewis goes hard over mid-wicket. SIX.
46ov [1lb . . . . .] 157/6: Lewis 36*, Mathurin 11*. It is a bit curious that T&T have opted to bowl Stewart and not Gabriel who was no less than hostile yesterday.
45ov [. . . . 2 1] 156/6: Lewis 36*, Mathurin 11*. Khan is bowling even flatter and faster than he usually does.
44ov [. 4 . . . 4b] 153/6: Lewis 33*, Mathurin 11*. Mathurin is playing with the edge of the bat. He edges another on. It falls just short between first and second slips and goes between Darren Bravo and Amit Jaggernauth for four. Mathurin offers no shot to the next delivery and is taken on the pad but Umpire Somwaru says not out on account of him being hit high above the knee roll and outside off. 150 up with 4 byes. Gibran Mohammed dived full length in front of first slip to try and haul in the wide delivery but he is not tall enough.
43ov [. . 2 . 4 .] 144/6: Lewis 33*, Mathurin 7*. Mathurin gets an edge down the leg side which speeds away for four. The runs are coming but those wickets are dropping too frequently.
42ov [1 . . . . .] 139/6: Lewis 32*, Mathurin 2*. Stewart repeatedly beats Mathurin outside off as he looked to drive.
41ov [. . . . . .] 138/6: Lewis 31*, Mathurin 2*. Maiden over by Khan.
40ov [. . 1 . . .] 138/6: Lewis 31*, Mathurin 2*. It's keep low, very low. That'd be a major worry for Lewis and Mathurin.
39ov [. . . . W 1] 137/6: Lewis 31*, Mathurin 1*. Imran Khan gets a second wicket and moved to 34 wickets for the season - the most by any bowler.
WICKET: S Shillingford lbw Khan 1. 136/6. Shillingford goes early. Plays at a Khan googly and misses it. Struck on pad and he must make the trek back to pavilion. New man is Garey Mathurin.
38ov [. . . . 4 .] 136/5: Lewis 31*, Shillingford 1*. Lewis pulls a short ball for four. Chris Gayle style. Front leg was up like a bucking stallion and he whipped it off the hip all the way to the square leg boundary. He's got pedigree as a batsman Lewis.
Navin (that's pronounced Nay-vin, not Nah-vin) Stewart will bowl from the Gerry Gomes Media Center End. He's at the top of his mark and looks skywards and says a few words. He's got purpose it seems.
37ov [1 . 1 1 . .] 132/5: Lewis 27*, Shillingford 1*. Shillingford - the off spinner from Dominica, the Nature Isle - is off the mark with a comfortable single.
Imran Khan, the leg spinner from Alescon Comets, will bowl at the Brian Lara Pavilion End and Rawl Lewis will face. The new batsman is Shane Shillingford.
Good morning all. Welcome to the Queen's Park Oval where Trinidad & Tobago need just five wickets to secure full points and move to 33 points. Windward Islands have their backs against the wall. They are chasing 373 runs to win but that is on the brink of impossibility. They are 129 for 5 having lost the fifth wicket (Devon Smith) on the last delivery of Day 3. The conditions are not as sunny as they have been previously but it's still early yet.
STUMPS, DAY 3: Windwards are 129 for 5 having lost captain Devon Smith to the last delivery of the day. They are searching for what is now a massively improbable 373 for victory. With just five wickets remaining they need another 244 runs. Alternatively they can bat out the last day to draw the game but that's a virtual impossibility given how they have played thus far in this match. They can also pray for rain of course but T&T shouldn't need too much time after lunch tomorrow to wrap up the win. Join us at 10 am for the proceedings. Cheerio.
36ov [. . . . . W] 129/5: Lewis 25*. Sherwin Ganga becomes the fifth bowler of the day to take a wicket.
WICKET: D Smith c Bravo b S Ganga 14. 129/5. LAST BALL OF THE DAY! Flighted delivery and Smith looks to drive and gets an edge which flies to Darren Bravo at first slip. The Trinis are leaping everywhere in delight. That's a HUGE wicket and it came on the very last ball of the day. They will be confident of knocking off the other five wickets tomorrow and taking full points.
Sherwin Ganga to bowl the last over of the day.
35ov [1 . 2 . 4 4] 129/4: Smith 14*, Lewis 25*. Just as we were noting the dour strokeplay to the close, Lewis pulls then drives aerial for fours. Oh well so much for playing for the close.
Two more overs to go in the day. Smith and Lewis are now batting for the close. No high risk shots in the last few overs.
34ov [1 . . . . 1] 118/4: Smith 13*, Lewis 15*. Single to each batsman.
BOWLING CHANGE: Sherwin Ganga replaces Amit Jaggernauth at the Gerry Gomez Media Center End.
33ov [. . . . . .] 116/4: Smith 12*, Lewis 14*. Maiden by Imran Khan.
Four more overs remain in the day's play. The light is good and the spinners are on so we may very well get through them and not have to start early tomorrow.
32ov [. . . . 1 .] 116/4: Smith 12*, Lewis 14*.
31ov [. . . . . .] 115/4: Smith 11*, Lewis 14*. Maiden over by Imran Khan who earns the defensive respect of Rawl Lewis.
30ov [6 1 . . . 6] 115/4: Smith 11*, Lewis 14*. Interesting approach by Lewis. He goes down the track to the first ball and sends it over long off for six. SIX MORE! Smith's turn now. He does the same thing Lewis did but goes over long on. Jaggernauth is stunned by their approach. He stands on the pitch for a long time pondering. Taken for 13 in the over.
The shadow of the Dos Santos Stand stretching across the outfield now as the lazy Sunday afternoon sun dips in the west.
29ov [. 2 . . . 2] 102/4: Smith 5*, Lewis 7*. Smith goes for a drive and gets nothing more than an edge. Flies high over Darren Bravo's head at first slip. Smith gets two but that was risky, certainly not the shot the captain should be playing at this stage. Turns into the on side for two more. Better shot. It was a low risk effort.
Imran Khan, bowling at the Brian Lara Pavilion End, to Devon Smith.
28ov [. . . 4 . .] 98/4: Smith 1*, Lewis 7*. Wristy cut for four by Lewis. Had shades of Indian captain MS Dhoni in that.
Can Jaggernauth get one more before the close? With the loss of Fletcher the Windwards chances of a come-from-behind win has taken a serious plummet.
27ov [. . W 2 1 .] 94/4: Smith 1*, Lewis 3*. Imran Khan takes a wicket now to join Shannon Gabrile, Navin Stewart and Amit Jaggernauth who have all taken one.
WICKET: A Fletcher c wkt G Mohammed b Khan 42. 91/4. Uh oh! It's happening again. Windwards wickets are tumbling in clusters. Andre Fletcher looks to sweep, gets an edge which is snapped up behind by Gibran Mohammed. Fletcher has flushed his innings down the drain for the second time in the match. Rawl Lewis is new batsman.
26ov [. . . . . .] 91/3: Fletcher 42*, Smith 1*.
25ov [. 1 . . . 1] 91/3: Fletcher 42*, Smith 0*. This is the key partnership. They need a substantial stand to give the Windwards a chance.
24ov [. . . . . W] 89/3: Fletcher 41*, Smith 0*. Seven wickets more for T&T to get. 283 runs more for Windwards to get.
WICKET: L Sebastien lbw Jaggernauth 26. 89/3. Jaggernauth gets into the act. Sebaswtien plays back and is struck plumb in front. Umpire Somwaru had no hesitation in raising the finger. Sebastien responds by raising the bat as if to indicate that he played the ball but it did not look as though he got any bat on that. He must go. Devon Smith comes in.
23ov [2 . . . . .] 89/2: Fletcher 41*, Sebastien 26*.
22ov [. . . . . 1] 87/2: Fletcher 39*, Sebastien 26*. Single to Fletcher off the last ball so he keeps the strike.
21ov [4 . . . . .] 86/2: Fletcher 38*, Sebastien 26*. Sebastien drives stupendously through covers after using his feet to get down the track to Khan. Exquisite shot.
20ov [. . . . 1 1] 82/2: Fletcher 38*, Sebastien 21*. Both batsmen playing the spinners with care and respect. They know to lose another wicket before the close of play will be something their team is not looking forward to.
19ov [. . 1 . . .] 80/2: Fletcher 37*, Sebastien 21*.
18ov [1 1 1 . . 2] 79/2: Fletcher 36*, Sebastien 21*. Runs are coming freely but do the Windwards have the wherewithal to keep wickets in hand?
We should see spin for the rest of the afternoon.19 overs remain but unlikely that TT will get all in. We'll have to go a little late, perhaps until 5:30 or so, or up until natural light permits, then we start at 9:30am tomorrow to make up.
17ov [. . . 6 . 3] 74/2: Fletcher 34*, Sebastien 18*. Powerfully swept away for six by Fletcher. He picked his spot, wide of the fielder on the boundary and clears it safely. DROPPED! Khan gets the edge. Difficult chance at first slip but Darren Bravo got hand to it. Three runs the end result.
BOWLING CHANGE: Gabriel is finally off and Imran Kha - the tournament's leading wicket-taker - is on.
16ov [. 1 . 2 2 .] 65/2: Fletcher 25*, Sebastien 18*. Sebastien turns into the on side for two twos.
Jaggernauth continues to Fletcher.
15ov [1 . . . . nb4 .] 60/2: Fletcher 24*, Sebastien 14*.
This is a pleasant surprise. Shannon Gabriel will bowl his eight over on the trot. Good stuff. He's back over the wicket now though.
14ov [. . . . 1 .] 54/2: Fletcher 23*, Sebastien 10*. Sebastien nearly gave it away off the last delivery. Cut shot fell just short of Gabriel at point. Dwayne Bravo would have made a brilliant catch of that but not Shannon Gabriel am afraid.
BOWLING CHANGE: Amit Jaggernauth comes in to replace Navin Stewart (6-3-23-1)
13ov [. . 2 . . .] 53/2: Fletcher 22*, Sebastien 10*.
Shannon Gabriel switches to around the wicket to Sebastien. PS: Who names a potentially venomous Windies fast bowler Shannon?
12ov [. 5 4 . . 4] 51/2: Fletcher 22*, Sebastien 8*. Sebastien gets five after taking a single and getting four overthrows. Fletcher then drives but it takes the outer edge of the bat and goes through third man for four. It took about 2 seconds from bat to boundary. Fifty up in grand fashion. Fletcher lifts Stewart over mid wicket. Nonchalant. Hooperesque even.
11ov [1 . . . nb 3 .] 38/2: Fletcher 14*, Sebastien 3*. Sebastien recovers from the hit in the box and turns into the on side for three.
Sebastien is hit in the unmentionables and he goes down like a sack of mangoes. He's rolling around in agony. The umpires call on drinks in the interim. Sebastien is ok now and ready to resume. Oh boy, that must still be hurting.
10ov [. . . . . .] 33/2: Fletcher 13*, Sebastien 0*. DROPPED! Justin Guillen dropps Liam Sebastien at forward short leg. Got both hands to it but could not hang on. It would have made a stinging catch but Guillen usually takes those. He's one of the better fielders under the bat going around in the Caribbean.
Gabriel's pace has gotten the several hundred folks on hand here glued to the action. They want to see him bowl from both ends. This is good for the game. Memories of the days of Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Malcolm Marshall and folks of that ilk.
9ov [W 1lb . . 2 .] 33/2: Flecther 13*, Sebastien 0*. This Gabriel kid - his pleasant name notwithstanding - is a dangerous customer. And he's not afraid to bowl short balls either. He knows he has the pace for it and he has that fast bowler's mentality. Perhaps a bit too coy in his follow through though. A bit of Ian Bishop in him. He doesn't walk down the pitch a la Curtly Ambrose or Courtney Walsh and stare at the batsman intimidatingly.
WICKET: C Emmanuel c wkt G Mohammed b Gabriel 10. 30/2. PACE! PACE! PACE! Gabriel is waking up this dead dog of a pitch. He landed that short and it rocketed into Emmanuel who tried to get out of the way but couldn't. It clipped his gloves on the way through to the keeper. Liam Sebastien is the next batsman.
8ov [. . . . . 4] 30/1: Emmanuel 10*, Fletcher 11*. Fletcher pivots on the back foot and swings hard. In front of square. Four runs. No fielder is even in close proximity so it was four from the time it left the bat.
Here's an interesting bit of info for you. In the first innings Emmanuel is credited with 8 runs (2 fours) but he only scored one boundary in fact. The other four was from a no ball when the ball sailed over his head and went to the boundary but Umpire Luther Kelly did not signal byes so the runs had to be credited to the batsman. The signal should have been no ball, followed by byes, followed by four but there was only signals for the no ball and the four.
7ov [. . 2 1 . 4] 26/1: Emmanuel 10*, Fletcher 7*. Emmanuel can thank his height for that boundary. Sharp delivery rising disconcertingly but he uses his height and gets on top of it and steers it just wide of second slip and it scoots away to the boundary. He wasn't in complete control but no serious danger either.
6ov [. . . . . .] 19/1: Emmanuel 6*, Fletcher 4*. Stewart delivers a maiden. Emmanuel's strokeplay is uncertain. One minute he's back, next forward, next stuck on the crease, all to deliveries pitched on a good length.
5ov [4 . . . . .] 19/1: Emmanuel 6*, Fletcher 4*. Fletcher gets off the mark by playing one of those thumping lofted drives over mid on. 4. As is customary, he poses after the shots for the non-existent cameras. Perhaps he's practicing for a return to Windies colours. He should have a good chance in the T20s and ODIs v Zimbabwe (starting right here at the QPO on Sunday) especially given the failures of the top order now down under who this morning went down to Australia in the first T20.
4ov [2 . 4 . . .] 15/1: Emmanuel 6*, Fletcher 0*. Emmanuel steers through vacant third man and gets two then gets four. He's milking that unmanned region but Ganga won't mind just yet. Any fractional mistake and he would be swallowed down in slips.
3ov [. . . . . .] 9/1: Emmanuel 0*, Fletcher 0*. Another maiden. Gabriel - the fastest man in T&T - bowling with that rocking run up is delivering with good pace. One delivery flew past Fletcher's grill with alacrity! He barely got out of the way. If Gabriel can avoid injury he's got a bright future ahead. Pencil his name down. One to watch. And he's a big strong lad.
2ov [. W . . . .] 9/1: Emmanuel 0*, Fletcher 0*. Stewart strikes in his first over but was gifted the wicket by a headless shot by Miles Bascombe who has gotten out in horrible fashion in both innings in what is his first game back. Criminal on his part. He should be sentenced to hard labour in cricketing prison for those shots.
WICKET: M Bascombe c Bravo b Stewart 9. 9/1. There he goes. Two glorious fours in the previous over now he plays a nothing shot and skies it. Darren Bravo looks up at first slip and waves everyone off and takes the catch. That's one down for T&T. Nine more to go. Andre Fletcher is the new man. He's another no non-sense customer but has a better aptitude for playing a lengthy innings than Bascombe who seems satisfied to hit two fours then depart.
1ov [. 4 4 . 1 .] 9/0: Bascombe 9*, Emmanuel 0*. Furiously square driven by Bascombe. Mercy me! That was scorching. Next ball - over Gabriel's head. Ultimate insult to the fast bowler. Four more to Bascombe. He's in a mood here. Looks like he wants tomorrow afternoon off so he's going to try and get the 373 by lunch.
Here we go then. Shannon Gabriel with the shiny new cherry to Miles Bascombe. Craig Emmanuel is the other opener. You'll remember Emmanuel from the first innings. He's the dude who made 8 from 70 balls and hit two fours, so he faced 66 dot balls before being run out.
The Windwards have a minimum of 36 overs to face today, plus the 90 for the final day so they have a total of 126 overs to get the magic number 373 or at least survive those overs to claim a draw. T&T have given themselves a lot of overs to bowl out Windwards here. There is loads of time as well.
News just coming to hand is that T&T have declared the innings. Windwards will now have to make 373 to win or survive four sessions to hang on for a draw. The odds will have to be with a Trini win though given how the Windwards imploded in the first innings and that their main batsman Devon Smith is suffering from a debilitating knee injury which caused him to bat at number six in the first innings when he is usually Number One in the line up.
TEA: T&T are 297 for 6 with an overall lead of 372. From they way they approached the last hour T&T looked as though they were batting to declare at tea but we have not yet heard whether they have taken a decision. Join us in 20 minutes for the resumption. If there is any news re declaration in the interim we will keep you posted.
89ov [. 2 1 3 1 1] 297/6: S Ganga 8*, Khan 11*. Khan scoops it over the wicketkeeper's head a la Tillakaratne Dilshan of Sri Lanka and the Delhi Daredevils. Gets 2 for his efforts. That's tea.
Final over before tea coming up now.
88ov [1 4 . . . 1] 289/6: S Ganga 4*, Khan 7*. Imran Khan smashes one over cover for four. Not textbook styled but gets the desired result. 4. Overall lead is 364 now.
87ov [. 1 1 1 . .] 283/6: S Ganga 3*, Khan 2*. Sherwin Ganga and Imran Khan have restored some sanity to the proceedings but one cannot be sure that singles is the plan the dressing room is happy with.
86ov [W W . 1 . 1] 280/6: S Ganga 1*, Khan 1*. Big over for Peters. He cashed in on the Trini batsmen wanting to go after him for runs as they rush to declare. Khan barely prevents the hat trick. He is taken on the pad but it looked to be going down leg and it was a bit high as well. Peters appeals but aborts it quickly. T7T lose three wickets with the score on 278. From 278 for 3 to 278 for 6.
New batsman is Imran Khan. Can he prevent the hatrick?
WICKET: N Stewart lbw Peters 0. 278/6. Three wickets in three balls and Kenroy Peters is on a hat trick now! Stewart goes hard and misses, he is taken low down on the pad and the appeals is loud and convincing and Umpire Luther Kelly of St Kitts raises the finger in agreement. Stewart goes for a first ball duck. Action galore here at the QPO. Feels like the latter stages of a T20 encounter.
New batsman is Sherwin Ganga.
WICKET: D Bravo c Butler b Peters 42. 278/5. Bravo looks to hit Peters onto Tragarete Rd but finds Deighton Butler at long on. T&T are looking for big quick runs and have sacrificed two wickets in the process. Peters gets his first wicket of the match with his first ball of this new spell.
BOWLING CHANGE: Kenroy Peters is on, replacing Garey Mathurin.
85ov [1 . 1lb 3 1 W] 278/4: Bravo 42*, Stewart 0*.
WICKET: J Mohammed c Sub (Theophile) b Butler 28. 278/4. Mohammed looking to step on the gas drives hard to extra cover. Navin Stewart is the new batsman. That he only bats in fifth gear should give us all an indication of what the plan is.
84ov [1 . 1 . . 6] 272/3: Bravo 41*, J Mohammed 24*. That was a whack! Bravo clobbers that from outside off over wide mid on and it has landed just in front the Jeffrey Stollmeyer Stand. It was a big hit. That would have been six on any ground in the world, it was that well hit. The lead is now 347. Are T&T looking for 350 or do they want more? The batsmen are playing a lot more aggressively so the declaration must be nigh.
83ov [1 . . . . .] 264/3: Bravo 34*, J Mohammed 23*. Mohammed fishing outside the line of off stump and beaten by Butler who is getting the ball to move away from the right hander.
82ov [. . . . . .] 263/3: Bravo 33*, J Mohammed 23*. Maiden over.
81ov [4 . . . . .] 263/3: Bravo 33*, J Mohammed 23*. CLATAXXX! Bravo broadsides a wayward delivery outside off from Butler to the extra cover boundary.
Not a bad crowd in relatively speaking of course. 400 maybe? Decked out mostly in red. What's your guess about who they're supporting?
80ov [. . . . . .] 259/3: Bravo 29*, J Mohammed 23*. Miaden by Garey Mathurin, the left arm spinner from Darren Sammy country - the beautiful St Lucia where the people are warm and the beaches as gorgeous as they are anywhere else. And those Pitons, both the mountains and the beer.
The second new ball will become due after the next over. But don't expect the Windwards to ask for it anytime soon.
79ov [. . 4 . 1 ] 259/3: Bravo 29*, J Mohammed 23*. Mohammed edges through where first slip would have been standing for a four.
78ov [1 2lb 1lb 1 . .] 254/3: Bravo 29*, J Mohammed 18*. 50 partnership up between Bravo and Mohammed. It required 70 balls. Drinks are taken and the flourescent orange golf cart darts onto the field and the players congregate around it.
BOWLING CHANGE: Mathurin switches ends. Shillingford is off at the Brian Lara Pavilion End and the left arm spinner comes on. This constant switching of ends which the Windwards have done throughout this match is a clear indication that their planning and strategizing have been poor.
77ov [1 1 . . . .] 249/3: Bravo 29*, J Mohammed 16*. An overall lead of 324 now.
BOWLING CHANGE: Mathurin gets just two overs from the Gerry Gomez Media Center End before being removed. Deighton Butler is the new bowler. He's bowling for the first time today after bowling just two overs yesterday.
76ov [1 1lb 1 . 4 4] 247/3: Bravo 28*, J Mohammed 15*. Mohammed plants his left leg down the pitch outside the line of leg stump and launches over cover for four. Next ball he cuts for another four. He's moving into third gear now is Mohammed.
75ov [. . . . . .] 236/3: Bravo 26*, J Mohammed 7*. Maiden over.

74ov [2 . . . . .] 236/3: Bravo 26*, J Mohammed 7*. Bravo cuts for a single but overthrow gets him an additional run.
Congratulations to Barbados who have just thumped Jamaica well inside three days and now move to the number one position on the points table with 57 points. Jamaica remain on 48 and sit in the number two position but Barbados have played all their matches and Jamaica has one in hand. They play Trinidad & Tobago in the final round in Grenada.
73ov [. 6 . . 1 .] 234/3: Bravo 24*, J Mohammed 7*. Bravo greet Mathurin with an imperious six over long on. He took on Pascal who is standing on the boundary but it sails well over his head. He's batting on his home ground so he knows the distances well.
BOWLING CHANGE: Rawl Lewis is strangely pulled from the attack and Garey Mathurin replaces him.
72ov [. 1 . 1 . 1] 227/3: Bravo 17*, J Mohammed 7*. The lead has now moved past 300, it's 302. T&T still have seven wickets in hand. Colin Murray, analyst on the radio commentary and former WI Under 19 captain thinks T&T should be looking for a lead of 350 or thereabouts.
71ov [4 . 1 . . 4] 224/3: Bravo 15*, J Mohammed 6*. Two pulls for four. One by Bravo, the other by Mohammed. Short deliveries from Lewis.
70ov [. 1 . . . .] 215/3: Bravo 10*, J Mohammed 2*.
It's really shocking to see that Sebastien sustained such a brutal hit, was felled, has required lengthy medical attention and three Windwards fielders seem not to care for their team mate. They have not moved from their fielding positions on the boundary. In fact, one of them, Nelon Pascal, could not be more disinterested. He's having a good time dancing to the music from the Trini Posse Stand. That's really disheartening and incredulous. Sebastien remains on and stays under the bat as well. That was almost a ten minute break.
69ov [. . . . 1 .] 214/3: Bravo 9*, J Mohammed 2*. Mohammed gets back to the last delivery and cuts hard into the knee of Liam Sebastien at silly point. That was a hard hit. T&T physio Ronald Rogers runs out to provide assistance in the absence of a physio on the Windwards team.
68ov [. . . . . .] 213/3: Bravo 8*, J Mohammed 2*. Shillingford spearing it in and not offering any opportunities for singles to Jason Mohammmed.
67ov [. 1 . 1 1 2] 213/3: Bravo 8*, J Mohammed 2*. Easy rotation of the strike.
66ov [. . . . . .] 208/3: Bravo 5*, J Mohammed 0*. Maiden over.
65ov [. 1 . . . .] 208/3: Bravo 5*, J Mohammed 0*.
The Windwards did employ some strange tactics before lunch. Rawl Lewis didn't bowl a single over until ten minutes before lunch and he has been their best bowler by miles. Instead it was Kenroy Peters (who only bowled 2 overs in the first innings) and Pascal who has not taken a wicket in the match. As soon as Lewis came on he got two wickets.
64ov [. . 1 . . .] 207/3: Bravo 4*, J Mohammed 0*. Those two wickets just before lunch have set back T&T to some extent as they were ideally positioned to press on after lunch. Now Bravo and Mohammed have to consolidate and play watchfully.
Shane Shillingford in tandem with Lewis now. He's at the Brian Lara Pavilion End.
63ov [. . . . . .] 206/3: Bravo 3*, J Mohammed 0*. Maiden over finds Mohammed coming long forward and either leaving alone the leg breaks or smothering the spin.
We're back after lunch. Rawl Lewis the partnership breaker is the man with the ball in his hands. Jason Mohammed faces. It's pretty hot out there. Thank God for air conditioned media centers.
Wickets this session: Adrian Barath c Mathurin b Lewis 79, Daren Ganga c&b Lewis 42. Wicket-takers: Rawl Lewis 1-0-1-2.
LUNCH: Adrian Barath and Daren Ganga did all the hard work for the entire session then with two overs left for lunch both fell. Barath went to indiscretion and Ganga was deceived by Rawl Lewis. Those two wickets will boost the Windwards as they have their meal. T&T are 206 for 3. The overall lead is 281 and there are seven wickets remaining with five full sessions of play remaining. It's anyone's guess when T&T will declare (providing they are not bowled out before) and what total they will give Windwards to chase and how much time they will give themselves to take the 10 wickets needed. Rejoin us in 40 minutes for the resumption
62ov [. . . . 2 .] 206/3: Bravo 3*, J Mohammed 0*. That's lunch.
Last over before lunch to be bowled by Garey Mathurin with Dwayne Bravo facing. T&T losing two critical wickets in the penultimate over before lunch.
61ov [. W . 1 W .] 204/3: Bravo 1*, J Mohammed 0*. Lewis makes a double breakthrough in his first over, removing both the set batsmen. T&T must now rebuild. Jason Mohammed is the new man. That's seven wickets in the match for Lewis.
WICKET: D Ganga c&b Lewis 42. 204/3. Quicker delivery and Ganga punches it back down the track. Lewis, looking like a 19 year old dives across the pitch and takes the catch with two hands. That was a stunning catch. Ganga turns around and heads off, missing a half century by eight runs. T&T has this habit of losing wickets in pairs.
WICKET: A Barath c Mathurin b Lewis 79. 203/2. The bowling change works. Barath cuts and is taken low down by Mathurin. He gives it away Barath. Had a hundred for the taking there. Darren bravo is the new batsman.
BOWLING CHANGE: Nelon Pascal is off and Rawl Lewis, the veteran leggie comes on.
60ov [. . . . . .] 203/1: Barath 79*, D Ganga 42*. Maiden by Mathurin, the left arm St Lucian spinner who replaced Shane Shillingford (21-2-51-1)
Garey Mathurin continues from the Brian Lara Pavilion End.
59ov [1 . . 4 . nb 1] 203/1: Barath 79*, D Ganga 42*. Ganga pulls through mid wicket once again. He's favouring that region heavily for his boundaries. 200 up.
58ov [1 . . . . .] 196/1: Barath 78*, D Ganga 37*.
57ov [1 . 1 . . .] 195/1: Barath 77*, D Ganga 37*.
56ov [. . 1 . . 1lb] 193/1: Barath 76*, D Ganga 36*.
55ov [1 4 1 1 . .] 191/1: Barath 75*, D Ganga 35*. Ganga climbs on top of a short delivery and pulls through midwicket. Not a man moved. Shillingford belatedly jogs to the boundary to retrieve. T&T are methodically building their lead now. Wonder what figure Ganga has in mind for the declaration?
54ov [. . . 1 . 1] 184/1: Barath 73*, D Ganga 30*. Another over, another pair of singles. It's the modus operandi of the Trinis this morning. No reckless strokeplay, just a sensible accumulation of runs. They're in no rush and they need not be.
53ov [. 1 . . 1 .] 182/1: Barath 72*, D Ganga 29*. A return to looking for singles by Barath and Ganga.
52ov [. . 1 . . .] 180/1: Barath 71*, D Ganga 28*.
51ov [. . 4 1 1 .] 179/1: Barath 70*, D Ganga 28*. Super drive by Ganga. He seemed frustrated at the lack of boundaries and smote that between the bowler and mid off. First boundary for eight overs. The boundary brings up the 250 lead. Lead is now 253. Last ball was a wicket bouncer by Pascal. Ganga was looking to hook but it was too quick and rushed on to the bat and popped back down the pitch but Pascal barely missed it in his follow through before it dropped to ground.
50ov [. . . . 1 1b] 173/1: Barath 69*, D Ganga 23*.
49ov [. 1 1 1 . .] 171/1: Barath 68*, D Ganga 23*. More singles taken. Drinks are also taken. After an hour no wickets have fallen so the hosts will be happy about that fact.
BOWLING CHANGE: Peters (6-1-13-0) is off and Nelon Pascal comes on to provide some added pace.
48ov [1 . 1 . 1 .] 168/1: Barath 66*, D Ganga 22*. Clear intent to increase the singles.
47ov [. . 1 . . .] 165/1: Barath 64*, D Ganga 21*. Just a single to Barath. A very quiet period save for an odd boundary four overs ago.
Smith continues to utilize the services of Peters. He is sticking to bowling over the wicket but has moved from pitching outside and on leg stump to a more off stump line moving further away from the batsman. Two overs ago he had an lbw shout turned down but it had clearly pitched outside leg so he's adjusted his line but unless he gets it to come back he won't have a chance at lbw. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
46ov [. . . . . .] 164/1: Barath 63*, D Ganga 21*.
45ov [1 . . . . 1] 164/1: Barath 63*, D Ganga 21*. Modest Sunday morning crowd in. Far more people than we've seen for matches in previous rounds. Well done T&T.
44ov [. . . 1 . .] 162/1: Barath 62*, D Ganga 20*. T&T have not been under pressure, runs coming along steadily but not rapidly. An even morning so far but Windwards still desperate for a wicket.
43ov [2lb . 4 . . .] 161/1: Barath 61*, D Ganga 20*. Ganga bisects short extra cover and mid off who is Butler. He chases but gives up half way. 4. Ganga is bettering his strokes with each passing over to make up for that two ball duck in the first innings.
42ov [. . . 1 . 1] 155/1: Barath 61*, D Ganga 16*. Shillingford keepign things relatively quiet from his end.
41ov [. . . . 1 .] 153/1: Barath 60*, D Ganga 15*. Peters is probing away on an off stump line bowling from over the wicket to the right handers. The lbw is being negated though as he's pitching outside leg stump with the ball going across the batsmen.
40ov [. . . . 1 .] 152/1: Barath 59*, D Ganga 15*. Controlled over by Shillingford. He's picked a spot just a shade otuside off stump and is looking to land each ball there and getting a bit of turning to keeping the batsmen honest in defence. Barath did manage to tug one to long on for a single though. He now equals his first innings total.
39ov [. . . 1 . 4] 151/1: Barath 58*, D Ganga 15*. Ganga brings up the 150 with a flowing drive just past point. Not a lot of effort, all timing and perfectly placed between the man at third man and the one on the extra cover boundary. Ganga's best shot of the match by some distance. That also brought up the 50 partnership between Ganga and Barath.
Devon Smith has taken the field this morning. He was off for most of yesterday during the T&T innings. The night's rest must have been good for that right knee which has been paining him badly.
38ov [2 . . 4 . 1] 146/1: Barath 57*, D Ganga 11*. Barath drills it through the cover region and it eases into the boundary teasing Peters all the way as he chased but no luck of stopping that. It was timed too well.
37ov [. . . . . .] 139/1: Barath 50*, D Ganga 11*. Peters starts with a maiden in lush Sunday morning sunshine. It remains amazing how green this outfield is for a country in drought. Daren Ganga plays most watchfully to that over.
Kenroy Peters will take up the attack at the Gerry Gomez Media Center End. He'll bowl left arm seamers. He only bowled two overs in the first innings but keep an eye on him, he can be a dangerous customer, especially with the pitch keeping low and it being two days old.
36ov [. nb 1 . . 1 .] 139/1: Barath 50*, D Ganga 11*. Barath gets to his fifty easy as (as Chris Gayle may tweet - http://twitter.com/henrygayle if you're not following him yet). 107 balls he faced and struck 5 fours and a lone six in his 144 minute innings. Well played young man. The Windies selectors will know you're ready to take your place at the top of the Windies order which is seriously missing you at the moment.
We're about to bowl off today. It will be Shane Shillingford from the Brian Lara Pavilion End to Adrian Barath.
Windwards are playing with a serious handicap as their captain Devon Smith has a serious knee injury which has forced him to bat at number six and only take the field for short periods. Coach Ian Allen explained that it is a long standing right knee problem which has troubled Smith but which has gotten significantly worse this game.
Good morning and welcome to the Queen's Park Oval for Day 3 of Trinidad & Tobago v Windward Islands. The hosts are firmly in command with a 211 run lead and nine second innings wickets remaining. Adrian Barath will resume on 49, just one away from his second half century of the match, and captain Daren Ganga is with him on 10. The Windwards will have much work to do to claw their way back and the only thing that can do it for them are wickets and quick wickets at that. Trinidad have all but one of their batsmen (Justin Guillen is out for 60) to utilize in pressing ahead and setting a total which Windwards will have to chase.
STUMPS, DAY 2: Trinidad and Tobago in their second innings are 136 for 1 with Adrian Barath on 49 and Daren Ganga on 10. It was a day on which they took complete control of the match having dismissed the Windward Islands for 188 and taking a 75 run first innings lead after they made 263. The overall lead is 211 with nine wickets in hand. We trust that you were pleased with the updates and commentary and that you will join us tomorrow morning from 10 am for more of the same.

VICTORY: Barbados win by 10 wickets!!!!
9ov [. 1 . . . 4] 54/0: Richards 31*, Brathwaite 20*. Brathwaite ends this one-sided contest with a classic cover drive for four off Dawes that advertises why he is rated so highly.
8ov [. . 1 . 4 .] 49/0: Richards 30*, Brathwaite 16*. Brathwaite late dabs to the vacant third man off Bernard.
