LI 192 all out Well no suprise there, Chanderpaul receiving the Man of the Match Award for his 105* and 32* holding both innings together as clearly he was the difference in the match. Other notable performances, E. Crandon 8-73, D. Bishoo 7-105 and O. Banks 60 and 49 in the match. So from us here at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva thank you for joining us and be sure to tune in next weekend for what looks to be a Championship Deciding match Between Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. RESULT: LI 192 Guy 287 LI 192 Guy 99/5 Guyana Wins by 5 Wickets. 46ov [4 ] 99/5 Chanderpaul 32* Bishoo 0* Well there it is, Liburd drops short and Chanderpaul cuts infront of square for a boundary to get the remaining runs needed! 45ov [. . . . . .] 95/5 Chanderpaul 28* Bishoo 0* Bishoo seems to be in no big a hurry like Christian was as he sees out that Athanaze over. Still 3 needed!

VICTORY: Guyana 271 & 162. CCC 239 & 195/5. The CCC collect a come-from-behind win thanks to Ryan Austin's magnificent 7-42 today (he had match figures of 10-118). Kjorn Ottley, aged 20 and in his first first-class match, led the chase to 195 with a fine 66.
46.4ov [. . . 1b] 195/5: Walton 34*, McClean 0*. Guyana's captain Sewnarine Chattergoon bowls and CCC romp to victory on the back of a bye.
46ov [W 4 . . 4 2] 194/5: Walton 34*, McClean 0*. Bess claims Ottley to a miscued pull but Walton slams CCC within one.
WICKET: K Ottley c Bishoo b Bess 66. 184/5.
45ov [1 . . . 3b .] 184/4: Ottley 66*, Walton 24*. The return of Permaul cannot halt the CCC express. 11 now to win with three overs left today. The light is fading but surely CCC can seal the victory this evening.
44ov [1 . 1 w 4 1 .] 180/4: Ottley 66*, Walton 23*. A magnificent straight drive from Walton helps reduce the target to 15 at the end of the over.
BOWLING CHANGE: Guyana may want to extend this into tomorrow as Brandon Bess (8-3-19-2) has been brought back after the failed Vishaul Singh (1-0-14-0) experiment.
43ov [. . . 1 1 1nb nb .] 172/4: Ottley 65*, Walton 17*. These two usher in the 50 stand, off just 65 balls, and CCC are just 23 away. Five overs remain, if the light holds.
42ov [4 4 . 1 1 4] 167/4: Ottley 64*, Walton 15*. Ottley punishes some rank nonsense from Singh, twice hammering long hops for four after a sweet straight drive.
BOWLING CHANGE: Captain Sewnarine Chattergoon is ringing the changes trying to make something happen. Vishaul Singh will send down some leg-spin as Royston Crandon (2-0-9-0) is relieved.
41ov [. . . . . .] 153/4: Ottley 51*, Walton 14*. Walton is prepared to play out a Bishoo maiden. Seven overs remain in the day and CCC require 42. Probably not enough time to finish off this today.
40ov [1 1 2 . . 1] 153/4: Ottley 51*, Walton 14*. CCC doing it easily now, as Royston Crandon comes back. Guyana slipping to their second straight defeat while the hosts seem set to halt their two-match skid and get back to winning ways.
39ov [. . . 1 1 .] 148/4: Ottley 50*, Walton 10*. Bishoo returns but causes few alarms as Ottley reaches his landmark.
FIFTY! Ottley gets to a fine half century, off 86 balls in 121 minutes. He has hit eight fours. Surely, a match-winning knock.
38ov [. 6 2 . 1 1] 146/4: Ottley 49*, Walton 9*. Walton gets off the mark with a sweetly-timed lofted off-drive that sails over the sightscreen and bounces near the tennis courts behind. CCC closing in, just 49 away now.
BOWLING CHANGE: As expected, Permaul returns and Barnwell (10-4-32-1) takes his sweater, so to speak. It is still very hot.
37ov [. . . . . 4] 136/4: Ottley 48*, Walton 0*. A cracking back foot drive sizzles through cover point for a boundary and takes Ottley to within two of a fifty on first-class debut.
BOWLING CHANGE: Royston Crandon replaces Permaul (6-0-24-0), who may come from the other end as Barnwell is likely to be spelled.
36ov [. 5w . . 1 . .] 132/4: Ottley 44*, Walton 0*. A wayward leg side delivery from Barnwell costs Guyana dearly as is speeds away for five wides. The equation now tipping in CCC's favour: 63 runs, six wickets remain.
Ottley, a 20-year-old left-hander from Trinidad, is playing nicely here. Could he be a match-winner in his debut match?
35ov [2 4 . 1 . .] 126/4: Ottley 43*, Walton 0*. Veerasammy Permaul replaces Bishoo (7-3-29-1) but Ottley doesn't back down, powering a sweep between the two deep men for four.
34ov [. . . . . .] 119/4: Ottley 36*, Walton 0*. Barnwell's tail is up. Walton lives dangerously as he guided a short ball to gully but it drops just in front of Royston Crandon. Nervous moments here for CCC with just five bowlers to follow: McClean, Austin, Kantasingh, Bennett and Catlin.
33ov [. . . . . .] 119/4: Ottley 36*, Walton 0*. Bishoo slows CCC with a maiden, although a beefy sweep by Ottley crashes into Chandrika's left leg at short leg and gives him an instant limp. He shrugs it off, though.
32ov [. . 1b . 4 W] 119/4: Ottley 36*, Walton 0*. Reifer slams a boundary through wide mid-off before Barnwell gets a crucial breakthrough as the left-hander drags a full delivery back onto his leg stump. Game in the balance still. CCC need 76. Guyana need six wickets.
WICKET: F Reifer b Barnwell 15. 119/4.
31ov [. 2 1 4 1 4] 114/3: Ottley 36*, Reifer 11*. Bishoo now proves expensive with Ottley sweeping for four before Reifer lives dangerously with a sparred edge that races between slip and the wicket-keeper.
30ov [2 1 4 . . .] 102/3: Ottley 31*, Reifer 4*. CCC not going into their shell as Barnwell is expensive.
29ov [. W . . 1 4] 95/3: Ottley 27*, Reifer 1*. Bishoo grabs a breakthrough to liven up this match. Ottley isn't bothered by the loss of his partner and produces an exquisite "not-a-man-move" cover drive for four.
Phillips lunges forward and prods to silly point where Vishaul Singh collects an easy catch. Umpire Dalton Holder has no doubt but Phillips' body language suggests he didn't think there was any bat or glove. New batsman: Floyd Reifer.
WICKET: O Phillips c Singh b Bishoo 35. 90/3.
28ov [. . . . . .] 90/2: Phillips 35*, Ottley 23*. Barnwell steadier now and Ottley cannot score.
27ov [. . 4 . 1 .] 90/2: Phillips 35*, Ottley 23*. These two bring up a half century stand, off 90 balls, as Ottley slams another Bishoo short ball over midwicket and Bess cannot rein it in.
26ov [. . . . . .] 85/2: Phillips 35*, Ottley 18*. Barnwell somehow bowls a maiden despite some meaty strokes from Phillips.
25ov [1nb . . 4 1 . .] 85/2: Phillips 35*, Ottley 18*. Bishoo drops short and is painted through backward point by Phillips for four. CCC coasting here but remember, Guyana were 60/1 overnight and slumped to 162 all out.
Drinks: CCC, after losing Kyle Corbin (13) and Nekoli Parris (5) to a fired-up Brandon Bess (2-19), have tilted the balance in their favour as left-handers Omar Phillips and Kjorn Ottley have added 42 off 74 balls in just under an hour. The hosts, in pursuit of 195 to win, are 117 away with eight wickets standing.
24ov [. . . . . .] 78/2: Phillips 30*, Ottley 17*. Better line and length from Barnwell as Phillips gets no room.
23ov [. . . . . .] 78/2: Phillips 30*, Ottley 17*. A steady Bishoo maiden to Ottley.
22ov [. 1 1 . 4 .] 78/2: Phillips 30*, Ottley 17*. Barnwell proving expensive as Phillips plays one of the shots of the match, an sizzling square drive that races out to the boundary under the shadow of Sherlock Hall.
21ov [. . . . . 4b] 72/2: Phillips 25*, Ottley 16*. CCC with the momentum now as Ottley misses a Bishoo full toss and Christian does not gather.
BOWLING CHANGE: Devendra Bishoo's leg-breaks spell Veerasammy Permaul's left-arm spin (5-0-17-0).
20ov [4 1lb . . . .] 68/2: Phillips 25*, Ottley 16*. Barnwell is clobbered over extra cover by Ottley as this left-handed pair grows in confidence.
INJURY UPDATE: Assad Fudadin, who was hit on the glove the first ball he faced from McClean earlier today, has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture of his left index finger. Guyana can ill afford to lose another batsmen with the Big Four - Chanderpaul, Sarwan, Deonarine and Dowlin - out for various reasons. With next weekend off, he may still be fit for the Guyana leg of the 2010 first-class season.
19ov [. 3 . . 4 .] 63/2: Phillips 25*, Ottley 12*. Permaul is driven by Ottley when he over-pitches and then cracked through backward square leg by Phillips when he's too short.
18ov [. . . 4 1 .] 56/2: Phillips 21*, Ottley 9*. Chris Barnwell replaces Bess (8-3-19-2) and is cover driven for four by Ottley. A good LBW shout against Phillips final ball is stonewalled by umpire Bailey.
17ov [. . 1 . . .] 51/2: Phillips 21*, Ottley 4*. Permaul keeps it tight but CCC tick off one more from their target of 195.
16ov [nb 1 . 3 . . .] 50/2: Phillips 21*, Ottley 3*. The CCC fifty arrives as Ottley gets off the mark with a neat on-drive off Bess, who seems to be tiring.
15ov [1 . . . . .] 45/2: Phillips 20*, Ottley 0*. Permaul landing it nicely now. A bit of excitement as Phillips nudges uncertainly for a single past short leg and Ottley misses a sweep and is nearly bowled.
14ov [. . . . . .] 44/2: Phillips 19*, Ottley 0*. Bess is ignored for most of the over as he is too short or/and too wide to Ottley, the Trinidadn left-hander on first-class debut.
13ov [. . 4b . 4 .] 44/2: Phillips 19*, Ottley 0*. Contrasting boundaries in that Permaul over. Phillips misses his first expansive drive and the ball just misses the stumps and wicket-keeper. His next effort is more emphatic and the glorious stroke races through the covers.
12ov [. . nb . . W .] 36/2: Phillips 15*, Ottley 0*. Two wickets now for Bess, as CCC slump again. The target of 195 seems a distance away now. New batsman: Kjorn Ottley.
Bess, continuing to bowl well, strikes again. Parris comes inside his stumps and tries to work through the leg side. The ball keeps a bit low and cannons into the pad. Umpire Rob Bailey says, "that's out", although Parris looks disappointed. Maybe a hint of heading down leg but Guyana, and Bess, are overjoyed.
WICKET: N Parris lbw b Bess 5. 36/2.
11ov [. . 4 . . .] 35/1: Phillips 15*, Parris 5*. Aggressive from the start is the left-handed Phillips, but is beaten first ball and then gets a fortunate boundary from a flying edge. Chris Barnwell at slip dives to his left but gets a fingertip, at best, to that flashing stroke.
CCC resume on 31/1 in pursuit of a victory target of 195.
POST-TEA SESSION: It's still bright and sunny, with a few cotton-wool clouds dotting the sky. Umpires Rob Bailey and Dalton Holder emerge, closely followed by the Guyana players, all eleven of them wearing their glorious green caps. Veerasammy Permaul removes his soon afterwards as he's going to start, from the Ramadin & Valentine End, to Omar Phillips.
Bowling: E.Crandon 5-0-17-0, Bess 5-2-13-1.

TEA, DAY 3: Guyana 271 & 162. CCC 239 & 31/1. It looks like we are in for a thriller here as CCC are still 164 away from their victory target with nine wickets remaining. Join us in 15 minutes to follow the action. In the meantime, enjoy a cup of tea and send us your thoughts at livewindies@gmail.com
10ov [. 1 . nb . 4 .] 31/1: Phillips 11*, Parris 5*. A neat Parris deflection off Bess beats fine leg and send us to tea with the match still deliciously poised.
9ov [. . . 1 . .] 25/1: Phillips 10*, Parris 1*. Esuan Crandon also striving that bit extra, but no success for him yet.
8ov [. . . . . .] 24/1: Phillips 9*, Parris 1*. Bess is really charging in. He seemed lethargic in the first innings but good to see him putting in everything for his team here. Remember, CCC's victory target is only 195.
7ov [1 . 1 . . .] 24/1: Phillips 9*, Parris 1*. The two Ps rotate the strike off Crandon as they aim to consolidate after the loss of Corbin.
6ov [1 1 W . . .] 22/1: Phillips 8*, Parris 0*. Bess lifts Guyana spirits by removing the flowing Corbin. The lanky pacer then beats Parris outside off.
Bess strikes for Guyana. Corbin, maybe too confident there, cracks a pull hard and powerfully but it sails straight to the older Crandon at deep backward square leg. He didn't have to move an inch. Straight into his midriff and a much-needed breakthrough for the visitors. New batsman: Nekoli Parris.
WICKET: K Corbin c E.Crandon b Bess 13. 22/1.
5ov [. . . 2 . .] 20/0: Phillips 7*, Corbin 12*. CCC keep positive in their response as Phillips drives straight for a couple. Spin cannot be far away.
4ov [. 1 . . 4 .] 18/0: Phillips 5*, Corbin 12*. The confidence of his first innings 74 oozing through him, Corbin strokes Bess magnificently through extra cover for his third boundary. That was by no means a half volley but was greeted by a beautifully-balanced drive.
3ov [. 4 . 4 . .] 13/0: Phillips 4*, Corbin 8*. Two glorious strokes from Corbin, the first a firm straight drive, the second a mouth-watering cover drive that the right-handed teenager poses on. He chases, and misses, a wide one off Crandon's last ball but survives.
2ov [1lb . . . . .] 5/0: Phillips 4*, Corbin 0*. Bess is pacy and aggressive, and gets by Phillips' flashing cut. But no breakthrough yet.
1ov [. 4 . . . .] 4/0: Phillips 4*, Corbin 0*. Phillips, on the front foot, cracks Crandon through extra cover to launch the pursuit in style.
Austin's 7/42 is the fourth seven-wicket haul this season (following Kemar Roach (Bds v CCC) - 7/23; Nikita Miller (Jam v Win) - 7/28 and Imran Khan (T&T v Bds) - 7/71).
CCC's chase begins with left-hander Omar Phillips and right-hander Kyle Corbin opening the batting. Esuan Crandon picks up the attack from the Ramadin & Valentine End to the south.
CCC has a ticklish victory target of 195. Their batsmen have not been in great form this season with totals of 234, 148/5 declared, 213, 187, 158, 198 and 239. It adds up to a thrilling run chase on what still is a good pitch for batting. There is wear and tear and the Guyana spinners, Permaul and Bishoo, will look to exploit that.
59.5ov [. . . . W] 162 all out: Bishoo 2*. Austin has caused Guyana to slump from 60/1 overnight to 162 all out.
Austin ends it off with a nice drifter wide of off stump and Bess follows it and feathers a catch to the wicket-keeper. The off-spinner has bowled beautifully to claim 7-42 from 24.5 overs and put his side back into contention.
WICKET: B Bess c wk Walton b Austin 10. 162 all out.
59ov [. . . . 2 .] 162/9: Bishoo 2*, Bess 10*. Bishoo works Kantasingh for a couple through square leg. The lead grows to 194. Will it be enough? Expect an exciting finale!!
58ov [W . 4 . 6 .] 160/9: Bishoo 0*, Bess 10*. Austin claims his sixth before Bess opens his shoulders and twice clouts over midwicket, the second soaring wide and over the Pavilion for a huge maximum.
Austin's previous first-class best was 6/86 for Barbados against Leeward Islands at Crab Hill in 2007.
Austin strikes again, thanks to sharp work by Kyle Corbin and Floyd Reifer. Crandon drives and the flying edge is deflected by Corbin at gully and Reifer dives behind him and pouches the chance. A career-best now for the 28-year-old Austin.
WICKET: E Crandon c Reifer b Austin 19. 150/9.
57ov [. . . 4 . 1] 150/8: E.Crandon 19*, Bishoo 0*. Kantasingh drops too short and Crandon swivels and gets him away for a boundary to fine leg. A single keeps Crandon in strike.
Guyana's advantage is only 177. Esuan Crandon has only Devendra Bishoo and Brandon Bess for support now. Maybe a few more strokes from the powerful left-hander?
56ov [2 . W . W .] 145/8: E.Crandon 14*, Bishoo 0*. Austin's double strike in the over lands him his ninth five-wicket haul in 46 first-class matches. He has really bowled well in this match after a mediocre outing against the Windwards a week ago.
High-fives for Austin, and a five-for. Permaul goes back onto his stumps and is hit in front, Rob Bailey confirming the dismissal with his raised index finger.
WICKET: V Permaul lbw b Austin 0. 145/8.
New batsman: Veerasammy Permaul.
Austin grabs his fourth as Singh essays a big drive off the front foot and slaps a catch straight to mid-off where McClean clasps an easy catch waist-high.
WICKET: V Singh c McClean b Austin 31. 145/7.
55ov [4 4 . . . .] 143/6: Singh 29*, E.Crandon 14*. Eventful start as Crandon twice edges to third man for four. The second one is just wide of a diving Reifer at slip.
BOWLING CHANGE: Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh sees his first action of the day, replacing McClean (13-4-42-1).
54ov [. . . 2 . .] 135/6: Singh 29*, E.Crandon 6*. A few taunts from Austin towards Singh have the desired effect and the pint-sized left-hander attacks uppishly, without full conviction, through mid-on. A gripping battle here.
53ov [. . . . 1 .] 133/6: Singh 27*, E.Crandon 6*. McClean running in nicely now but sub Romel Currency lets CCC down with an unneccesary, and wayward, return from point that gives Singh a single via an overthrow.
52ov [1 . 1 . . .] 132/6: Singh 26*, E.Crandon 6*. Guyana inch along against Austin.
51ov [. . . . . .] 130/6: Singh 25*, E.Crandon 5*. McClean cannot penetrate against Singh.
50ov [. . 1 . . .] 130/6: Singh 25*, E.Crandon 5*. The left-handed pair pushes their stand to 26 as Austin continues to plug away.
49ov [. 4 . 1 . .] 129/6: Singh 24*, E.Crandon 5*. Singh gets going with a nicely crafted square cut that races down to backward point.
McClean partners Austin after the break.
48ov [. 2b . . . .] 124/6: Singh 19*, E.Crandon 5*. Austin back on a good length. One spins and bounces out of the rough and Reifer at slip can't haul it in. It has missed the edge, however, and goes for byes.
Ryan Austin, so impressive before lunch in an unchanged spell, starts after the interval to Esuan Crandon.
POST-LUNCH SESSION: Cracking match in prospect with Guyana 154 ahead with four wickets in hand. As the umpires and players emerge, a forthright rooster vacates the arena. There are two pockets of fans. The CCC band of saucepans and drums at the northern end while a small Guyana posse relax under a tarpaulin at the south.
This match is delicately poised with five sessions remaining. Please rejoin us in half an hour for the post-lunch play. You can also drop us an e-mail at livewindies@gmail.com and we'll include the best in our live commentary after the break. See you in a bit!
Bowling: McClean 10-3-36-1, Catlin 13-1-51-2, Kantasingh 5-2-7-0, Austin 18-6-25-3, Parris 1-0-3-0.
LUNCH, DAY 3: Guyana 271 & 122/6. CCC 239. The CCC had a fine session, reducing Guyana from 60/1 to 122/6. The hosts grabbed five wickets for 62 runs in 27 overs. Ryan Austin (3-51), Khismar Catlin (2-51) and Kevin McClean (1-36) led the way while Vishaul Singh (19 not out) carries the fight for Guyana, who have a useful lead of 154.

47ov [. 4 . . . .] 122/6: Singh 19*, E.Crandon 5*. Singh carves McClean uppishly for a boundary to backward point.
BOWLING CHANGE: Catlin (13-1-51-2) pays the price for his expensive over and is replaced by McClean for the final six balls before the break.
46ov [. . . . . .] 118/6: Singh 15*, E.Crandon 5*. Crandon respects Austin and sees out a maiden. Guyana's lead is now 150 with one over remaining to lunch.
45ov [4 1 4 4 . .] 118/6: Singh 15*, E.Crandon 5*. After a slow morning, a veritable orgy of runs off Catlin. Crandon somehow edges a full delivery over the slips while Singh is more emphatic with two handsome pulls through backward square leg.
44ov [. . . . . .] 105/6: Singh 7*, E.Crandon 0. Austin steady as usual to Singh.
43ov [. 4 . W . nb .] 105/6: Singh 7*, E.Crandon 0*. Christian stands a delivers to belt one past the bowler. Catlin puts up his hands but more in self-preservation than in hope of a catch as the ball zooms to the boundary. A fiery bouncer next ball, then the wicket.
Christian, ever ready to live by the sword, eventually dies by it as he slices an ambitious drive to backward point where the sub hauls in a simple, shoulder-high catch. New batsman: Esuan Crandon.
WICKET: D Christian c sub (Currency) b Catlin 17. 104/6.
42ov [. . 4 . . .] 100/5: Singh 7*, Christian 13*. Singh's nerves seem settled as he rocks back and belts a rare Austin long hop to the cover point fence. The century for Guyana is raised, and the lead creeps up to 132.
41ov [1 . . 1 . .] 96/5: Singh 3*, Christian 13*. Catlin continues to be aggressive without success.
40ov [. . 2 . 1 .] 94/5: Singh 2*, Christian 12*. Christian chips Austin a couple of times through the leg side for runs. A good battle emerging between these two.
39ov [4 . . 1 . .] 91/5: Singh 2*, Christian 9*. The aggressive Christian gathers a boundary with a sliced drive off Catlin. He will try to get on top of the bowlers.
Chatergoon's dismissal brings a couple of critical e-mails, from Yuri S, in Maryland, and Steven A, in London. Yuri reckons: "Chattergoon needs to go" while Steven says: "He hasn't led from the front with his either his batting or his captaincy in the field". To be fair, Guyana are missing key men in Chanderpaul and Sarwan, and now Deonarine and Dowlin.
CCC's small band of fans, led by the mother of Kyle Corbin, are beating saucepans and drums and rallying their side, who have had a great morning in reducing Guyana from their overnight 60/1 to 86/5.
38ov [. . 2 . . .] 86/5: Singh 2*, Christian 4*. Singh is very uncertain against Austin, whose big-spinning off-breaks encourage captain Reifer to use an 8-1 off-side field for the left-hander for the last few deliveries.
37ov [. W . . 4 .] 84/5: Singh 0*, Christian 4*. Catlin keeps CCC on top with the fourth wicket this morning, and the third in the past four overs. Guyana, on the slump, still lead by 116.
Fudadin deflects Catlin down the leg side where Walton flings himself to his right to haul in a fine catch. Dalton Holder sends the left-hander, who looks a bit bemused by the decision. Bat, glove or thigh pad, he's on his way. New batsman: Derwin Christian.
WICKET: A Fudadin c wk Walton b Catlin 5. 80/5.
36ov [. . . . 1 W] 80/4: Fudadin 5*, Singh 0*. Another scalp for a rampant Austin as Crandon drives at a flighted delivery and scoops a simple return catch that the delighted bowler holds comfortably. The new batsman is Vishaul Singh.
WICKET: R Crandon c and b Austin 0. 80/4.
35ov [. 1 . . . .] 79/3: Fudadin 4*, R.Crandon 0*. No respite for Guyana as Catlin steams in aggressively.
Get involved in the coverage: e-mail us at livewindies@gmail.com with your views.
34ov [. . W . . .] 78/3: Fudadin 3*, R.Crandon 0*. Austin continues to bowl well and picks up a deserved wicket. Crandon pops one to backward short leg but it is off the thigh pad. CCC stalling Guyana here.
Drinks are taken as new batsman Royston Crandon, the first innings top-scorer with 94, strides out.
Austin thought he had the Guyana captain a couple overs back but there is no doubt now as Chattergoon is half-cocked with a defensive push and the off-break caresses his edge and provides Reifer with the simplest of catches.
WICKET: S Chattergoon c Reifer b Austin 39. 78/3.
33ov [1 . . . . .] 78/2: Chattergoon 39*, Fudadin 3*. Catlin harries Fudadin with a short one and has an appeal for a leg side catch turned down. Not too convincing, that appeal, and Dalton Holder is not interested.
Ian C, from Georgetown, is urging his skipper to get to three figures: "If Chatters can get a hundred here and then a few more, he can get back in the West Indies team." Well, selector Raphick Jumadeen is watching closely.
32ov [. . . . . 1] 77/2: Chattergoon 38*, Fudadin 3*. A Chattergoon push into the covers off Austin gets a rise out of the scoreboard operators.
31ov [. . . . . .] 76/2: Chattergoon 37*, Fudadin 3*. Yet another maiden as Fudadin is pushed onto the back foot. Just 16 runs in 11 overs this morning.
BOWLING CHANGE: Khismar Catlin replaces fellow pacer McClean (9-3-32-1) at the Ram & Val End. McClean's spell this morning was: 5-3-9-1.
30ov [. . 1 . . .] 76/2: Chattergoon 37*, Fudadin 3*. Austin continues to plug away but no alarms for the Guyanese this over.
29ov [. . . 1 . 4] 75/2: Chattergoon 37*, Fudadin 2*. A tuck off his hips by Fudadin off McClean breaks Guyana's streak of 28 scoreless deliveries. Chattergoon then belts a short ball over midwicket for a convincing boundary.
28ov [. . . . . .] 70/2: Chattergoon 33*, Fudadin 1*. CCC think they have their second wicket of the morning when Chattergoon drives with a flourish and Reifer picks up a catch at first slip. Umpire Rob Bailey confounds the hosts by ruling not out, seeming to indicate the ball turned out of the footmarks and didn't catch the edge. Reifer has a quiet word with him before returning to his position.
That's three maidens in a row but, after an early wicket, these two want to rebuild.
27ov [. . . . . .] 70/2: Chattergoon 33*, Fudadin 1*. McClean is generally short of a length but Fudadin is not bothered.
26ov [. . . . . .] 70/2: Chattergoon 33*, Fudadin 1*. Chattergoon, recognising the wiles of Austin, is watchful and is beaten by the final delivery.
25ov [. . . . . .] 70/2: Chattergoon 33*, Fudadin 1*. McClean sends down an accurate maiden to Fudadin.
INJURY UPDATE: Jason Bennett, the CCC fast bowler, will be out of action for two-three weeks after injuring his right shoulder during this match. The 27-year-old had 10 wickets in the first three matches but will now likely miss the rest of the season.
24ov [. . . 1 1 .] 70/2: Chattergoon 33*, Fudadin 1*. The two left-handers trade singles through the off side off Austin.
23ov [. . . . W .] 68/2: Chattergoon 32*, Fudadin 0*. McClean strikes in the third over of the day, and bags a wicket maiden to boot.
New batsman: Assad Fudadin.
McClean makes the crucial breakthrough as Barnwell pulls a short ball to midwicket where Kantasingh lunges forward to hang on to a regulation low chance. Barnwell seemed to be in two minds whether to hit up or down. In the end, he did neither and falls after a knock that spanned 45 balls and included five fours.
WICKET: C Barnwell c Kantasingh b McClean 27. 68/2.

22ov [. . 4 . . .] 68/1: Chattergoon 32*, Barnwell 27*. A pleasant cover drive for four gets Chattergoon going and moves the Guyana advantage into triple figures.
Ryan Austin, with his off-spin, is on at the Roberts & Holding End and Chattergoon gets his first look.
21ov [. 4 . . . .] 64/1: Chattergoon 28*, Barnwell 27*. The free-scoring Barnwell gets going with a streaky back foot stroke which is edged wide of the floating fifth slip and down to the vacant third man for a boundary.
Kevin McClean will begin proceedings from the Ramadin & Valentine End. Right-hander Barnwell will face.
Guyana skipper Sewnarine Chattergoon (28 not out) and Chris Barnwell (23 not out) resume with the visitors having a healthy lead of 92 with nine second innings wickets in tact. CCC will have to strike early and often not to drift out of contention.
DAY 3: Guyana 271 & 60/1. CCC 239. Welcome to the Three Ws Oval at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies in Barbados. It is another fine Caribbean day with a few more clouds around, but they are fluffy, white, fair-weather cumulus ones and only add to the picturesque setting here.
Join us for what we hope will be another absorbing day tomorrow from 10 am local time. Enjoy your Saturday night!
Bowling: McClean 4-0-23-0, Catlin 5-0-20-0, Kantasingh 5-2-7-0, Austin 5-1-7-1, Parris 1-0-3-0.
Guyana's skipper Sewnarine Chattergoon and Chris Barnwell extended their team's advantage in the final session with CCC only claiming one wicket as Rajendra Chandrika (6) fell to Austin.
STUMPS, DAY 2: Guyana 271 & 60/1. CCC 239. Guyana, after collecting first innings points, have stretched their lead to 92 and hold the edge after two days. CCC, after resuming on 24/3, were inspired by Kyle Corbin (74) and captain Floyd Reifer (57), but they fell short in the end with Brandon Bess (3-38), Veerasammy Permaul (3-75) and Esuan Crandon (2-47) heading the bowling.
20ov [2 . . 1 . .] 60/1: Chattergoon 28*, Barnwell 23*. No worries as this pair takes their stand to 25, with Barnwell dominating.
BOWLING CHANGE: Nekoli Parris, with his little-used off-spin, will deliver the final six balls of the day. Austin (5-1-7-1) is replaced.
19ov [4 . . . 1 .] 57/1: Chattergoon 28*, Barnwell 20*. Barnwell remains positive and belts Kantasingh through straight mid-on for his fourth boundary.
18ov [. . . . . .] 52/1: Chattergoon 28*, Barnwell 15*. Austin steady again but Guyana are unfussed.
17ov [. . . 1 . .] 52/1: Chattergoon 28*, Barnwell 15*. Chattergoon is watchful against Kantasingh.
Edmund B, via e-mail, expresses his concern over the make-up of the CCC team: "Why are so many Barbados players on the team?" he asks. He is plumping for the inclusion of young batsman Nkrumah Bonner and leg-spinner Gavin Wallace.
16ov [. . 4 . . .] 51/1: Chattergoon 27* Barnwell 15*. Barnwell tucks Austin behind square for a boundary as the close nears ... just four overs left.
15ov [. . . . . .] 47/1: Chattergoon 27*, Barnwell 11*. Kantasingh, who replaces Catlin (5-0-20-0), begins with a maiden to Chattergoon.
14ov [. . . . . 1] 47/1: Chattergoon 27*, Barnwell 11*. Chattergoon resists Austin's intelligent varieties.
13ov [. . . 4 . 4] 46/1: Chattergoon 26*, Barnwell 11*. Barnwell makes Catlin pay for dropping too short, riding high and cracking two boundaries through fine backward point.
12ov [. . 1 . . .] 38/1: Chattergoon 26*, Barnwell 3*. Austin accurate as ever.
11ov [. . . . 1 .] 37/1: Chattergoon 26*, Barnwell 2*. A toe-ended pull brings Barnwell as single off Catlin.
10ov [. W . . 1 .] 36/1: Chattergoon 26*, Barnwell 1*. Success right away for Austin as Chandrika midjudges badly, and pays the ultimate price.
Chandrika pads up inexplicably to one on the stumps from Austin and Rob Bailey has no hesitation. New batsman: Chris Barnwell.
WICKET: R Chandrika lbw b Austin 6. 35/1.
BOWLING CHANGE: Ryan Austin brings his off-spin to the crease, replacing Kantasingh (2-1-1-0).
9ov [. . 1 . 1 4] 35/0: Chattergoon 26*, Chandrika 6*. Chattergoon continues to flow with a meaty pull over midwicket off Catlin and Guyana now lead by 67.
BOWLING CHANGE: Catlin spells McClean (4-0-23-0) at the Ramadin & Valentine End.
8ov [. . . . . .] 29/0: Chattergoon 21*, Chandrika 5*. Chandrkia negotiated Kantasingh comfortably enough.
7ov [. 1 . . 1 nb .] 29/0: Chattergoon 21*, Chandrika 5*. Better over from McClean.
The expensive McClean (3-0-20-0) continues from the south.
6ov [. 1 . . . .] 26/0: Chattergoon 20*, Chandrika 4*. Kantasingh is predictably flat and miserly to start.
BOWLING CHANGE: Kavesh Kantasingh replaces Catlin (2-0-5-0) at the Roberts & Holding End.
5ov [. 4 . . 1 .] 25/0: Chattergoon 19*, Chandrika 4*. The Guyana skipper blasts another four off McClean, firmly driving through wide mid-on again.
4ov [2 . . 2 . .] 20/0: Chattergoon 14*, Chandrika 4*. Chandrika gets going with a couple of sweetly-timed strokes off Catlin.
3ov [nb . . 4 4 . .] 16/0: Chattergoon 14*, Chandrika 0*. Chattergoon is enjoying these perfect batting conditions, stroking McClean handsomely off the back foot through the covers and then leaning forward to caress an on-drive through wide mid-on.
CCC are without Jason Bennett, who had to go off yesterday just before tea after delivering just four overs. He batted, albeit briefly, but is struggling with an injured shoulder.
2ov [1 . . . . .] 7/0: Chattergoon 6*, Chandrika 0*. Steady start from Catlin, who is right on the money.
1ov [4 1nb . . . . .] 6/0: Chattergoon 5*, Chandrika 0*. A positive start by Chattergoon, who on-drives McClean for a boundary first ball.
With 20 overs remaining, McClean gets the first use of the cherry, from the Ramadin & Valentine End. Left-hander Sewnarine Chattergoon, the Guyana captain, faces first with the right-handed Rajendra Chandrika at the non-striker's end.
Bowling: E.Crandon 13-3-47-2, Bess 13-3-38-3, Permaul 28-2-75-3, Barnwell 2-0-7-0, Bishoo 17-4-61-1, R.Crandon 7-3-6-0.
I know he's a number 11 but Catlin should be ashamed of his stroke, a wild slog. Kevin McClean, who spent 78 balls and 94 minutes, determinedly pushing his team to compete for the lead, must be having a harsh word with his pace mate. Let's not forget, Guyana lost their ninth wicket at 239 and Esuan Crandon and Brandon Bess pushed them up to 271. Really brainless cricket from Catlin there.
80ov [2 4 2 W . W] 239 all out: McClean 16*. Bess ends off the innings with two full deliveries and Guyana grab a lead of 32.
WICKET: K Catlin b Bess 0. 239 all out.
Bennett, after a few lusty blows, swings across a full one and is ruled LBW by Dalton Holder. Guyana now in pole position to seal first innings lead.
WICKET: J Bennett lbw b Bess 9. 239/9.
79ov [4 1W . . . 1] 231/8: McClean 16*, Bennett 1*. Guyana break through with a run out after Kantasingh passes his previous first-class best of 31 not out, against T&T at Couva last year.
Kantasingh tries for a second to deep backward point but only completes one and nine-tenths as Royston Crandon's flat, accurate throw runs him out. A career-best 34 from Kantasingh, and a vital stand of 51 with McClean, but Guyana now grab back the edge. New batsman: Jason Bennett.
WICKET: K Kantasingh run out (R.Crandon/Christian) 34. 230/8.
BOWLING CHANGE: Finally, Chris Barnwell gets a chance, replacing Bishoo (17-4-61-1) from the Ramadin & Valentine End.
78ov [. . 1 . . 1lb] 225/7: McClean 16*, Kantasingh 29*. Bess slowly revs up although the pitch is very flat. Kantasingh looks hassled by the extra pace and plays an off-a-me fend down to fine leg off the last ball.
BOWLING CHANGE: Maybe with an eye on the new ball in three overs, lanky pacer Brandon Bess comes on to replace the inneffective Royston Crandon (7-3-6-0).
77ov [. 1 . 2 . .] 223/7: McClean 15*, Kantasingh 29*. McClean gets his first run after the break as Bishoo toils without success.
76ov [. . . 2 . .] 220/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 27*. Crandon is anything but threatening. The stand rises to 41 and the hosts are just 52 away from first innings points.
The second new ball is available in five overs. With the way these two are handling the spin, captain Sewnarine Chattergoon will have to take it.
75ov [. . . 1 . .] 218/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 25*. Bishoo is also too short but fails to pay the penalty.
74ov [. . . . . .] 217/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 24*. Crandon is a bit too short but McClean can't pierce the off side ring.
73ov [2 . 2 . . .] 217/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 24*. The Trinidadian Kantasingh continues to blossom with lovely strokes through the off side, off front and back foot, for two doubles. Bishoo is the bowler.
72ov [1 . . . . .] 213/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 20*. Crandon is prepared to flight it a bit more (maybe he's been reading me describe his deliveries as darts) but still no joy for the Guyanese.
Royston Crandon continues after the break, from the Roberts & Holding End, and Kantasingh is in strike.

Bowling: E.Crandon 13-3-47-2, Bess 11-3-29-1, Permaul 28-2-75-3, Barnwell 1-0-1-0, Bishoo 14-4-53-1, R.Crandon 4-2-3-0.
TEA, DAY 2: Guyana 271. CCC 212/7. An absorbing contest has developed in the battle for first innings lead. Corbin (74) and Reifer (57) shared a stand of 107 for the fifth wicket but Guyana claimed both, and added the scalp of Walton (25) in that session to tip the balance in their favour. But McClean and Kantsingh have revived the hosts' spirits in adding 33 unbroken.

71ov [. . . . . .] 212/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 19*. A serene maiden of leg-spin to finish play for the session.
BOWLING CHANGE: Bishoo comes on for the last over before the break to replace Permaul (28-2-75-3).
70ov [. . . . . .] 212/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 19*. Another maiden, full of Royston Crandon darts, fails to dislodge Kantasingh. Tea is in sight and CCC now have the momentum in the battle for first innings lead.
69ov [. . . 3 . .] 212/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 19*. This really is a wonderful, fighting association by the pair of left-handers. Permaul gets McClean to glove the last ball but it loops just out of the reach of short leg.
68ov [. . 1 . 1 .] 209/7: McClean 14*, Kantasingh 16*. Royston Crandon is negotiated comfortably as the stand swells to 30 off 71 balls.
67ov [. 2 1 2 . .] 207/7: McClean 13*, Kantasingh 15*. With a mixture of authentic strokes and not-so-authentic strokes, the pair continues to frustrate Permaul.
Sean Devers, the Kaiteur News correspondent, wonders aloud why Chris Barnwell's medium pace has not been utilized. The same question is asked by Steven A, still following us in London: "Permaul and Bishoo seem to be tiring", he reckons.
66ov [. . . . . 1lb] 202/7: McClean 10*, Kantasingh 13*. In a flash (99 seconds to be exact), he gets through an accurate over.
BOWLING CHANGE: Royston Crandon, Guyana's topscorer with 94, comes into the attack with his flat off-spin. He spells Devendra Bishoo (13-3-53-1).
65ov [1 1 . . 1 .] 201/7: McClean 10*, Kantasingh 13*. Both batsmen into double figures now as CCC pass 200 still with visions of passing Guyana's 271.
64ov [. nb . . 1 . 4] 198/7: McClean 8*, Kantasingh 12*. Bishoo strays too wide and Kantasingh again slashes through a vacant off side for four. These two have now added 19.
63ov [. 2 . . . .] 192/7: McClean 7*, Kantasingh 8*. Kantasingh continues to dice with danger as two paddle sweeps off Permaul spoon near short fine leg and a nudge into the leg side just evades Chandrika at short leg.
62ov [. . . 4 . 1] 190/7: McClean 7*, Kantasingh 6*. Bishoo is nowhere near his best and Kantasingh carves a wide one over the cover for a boundary although a sweep is miscued dangerously close to deep square leg to end the over.
Singh does get a break from the perils of close in fielding. He stays on the field but Fudadin and Chandrika are now the men in front of the bat.
61ov [. 2 . . . .] 185/7: McClean 7*, Kantasingh 1*. The spin of Permaul is proving challenging for left-hander McClean, but he fights off the six deliveries.
60ov [. . . . . .] 183/7: McClean 5*, Kantasingh 1*. A Bishoo maiden is tarnished as Kantasingh cracks Vishaul Singh on his ribs at short leg. After some concern, Singh is fine and is back under the bat for the next over.
59ov [. 1 . 2 . .] 183/7: McClean 5*, Kantasingh 1*. CCC still 88 away from Guyana's 271.
Four foreign students drift in front the sightscreen and cause umpire Rob Bailey to wave them away. American, Canadian? Surely not English, or they would have known that area is a no-go.
58ov [. . . . . .] 180/7: McClean 3*, Kantasingh 0*. Bishoo shows more control in a maiden to McClean.
Ryan P is also following the action from Queens, New York: "Just what Guyana needed. Corbin and Reifer out, and the game is in their hands." He e-mailed just before Walton holed out. He must be over the moon now!!
57ov [. W . . . 1] 180/7: McClean 3*, Kantasingh 0*. The Guyanese are well and truly into the tail now as Walton commits suicide.
A third wicket for Permaul, presented on a platter, as Walton takes on the long-on fielder, and loses. He swings the left-arm spinner high into the leg side and Bess lopes around with his big strides to haul in a well-judged catch running 12 yards to his right. New batsman: Kavesh Kantasingh.
WICKET: C Walton c Bess b Permaul 25. 179/7.
56ov [4 nb 4 . . 1 .] 179/6: Walton 25*, McClean 2*. Bishoo disappoints after his wicket-taking over as Walton belts two long hops for boundaries.

Yuri S, also in the US, realises the Guyanese have a tough job if they are to contend for the 2010 crown: "The Guyanese need to win all these matches in order to battle Jamaica for the title." The Jamaicans have maximum points from three matches and are in pole position for their third successive first-class championship.
55ov [4 . . 1 . .] 169/6: Walton 16*, McClean 2*. Walton pounds Permaul through square cover as he drops too short.
Dave G, in Queens, New York, is excited by the coverage: "Wow, I didn't know the website provided live commentary. This is cool ... Anyway, I'm logged on while I'm in class at college. Not a good thing but just for a couple hours, lol." Don't neglect your studies, Dave!
54ov [. 4 W 2 . .] 164/6: Walton 11*, McClean 2*. Bishoo makes a crucial breakthrough, the ball after a long hop was pounded wide of mid-on.
The wicket enabled the umpires and players to take the drinks break, with the Guyanese just sticking their noses in front in the battle for the lead.
Corbin had just notched his career-best but falls for 74. The teenager struck nine fours off 154 balls in 233 minutes.
The right-hander pushes tentatively forward and misses and the dreaded index finger of Dalton Holder sends him on his way. Bishoo, who troubled Corbin earlier in the day, grabs his first wicket and Guyana have exposed the tail. New batsman: Kevin McClean.
WICKET: K Corbin lbw b Bishoo 74. 162/6.
BOWLING CHANGE: Devendra Bishoo, with his leg-spin, takes over from Esuan Crandon (13-3-47-2) at the Roberts & Holding End.
53ov [. 1 1 2 . .] 158/5: Corbin 70*, Walton 11*. Permaul probes and Walton's miscued sweep for a double gives him some encouragement. That stroke has looked dangerous for both batsmen. They need to be careful here.
52ov [1 . 1 2 . .] 154/5: Corbin 69*, Walton 8*. Crandon continues to probe but the two right-handers are beginning to establish another partnership.
Omar G, from Berbice, has tipped Guyana to get a first innings lead: "The CCC batting ends with these two. Let us get one and you'll see a collapse". Positive thinking from a Guyana fan. Keep those e-mails coming to livewindies@gmail.com
51ov [. . . . . 1] 150/5: Corbin 66*, Walton 7*. Corbin starting to go through a wobbly period now, gloving a sweep at Permaul which just sails over wicket-keeper and slip for a single.
50ov [. . 1 . . .] 149/5: Corbin 65*, Walton 7*. Crandon, the Esuan variety, is on target but both batsmen display straight-batted defiance.
49ov [. 4 . 1 1 .] 148/5: Corbin 64*, Walton 7*. A cracking sweep for four by Walton seems to excite Corbin, who tries to belt Permaul over the leg side but slices the stroke safely over fine third man. A rare lapse from the opener during 214 minutes of batting.
48ov [. . . . 4 .] 142/5: Corbin 63*, Walton 2*. Crandon drifts too straight and is greeted with a delightful on-drive from Corbin that speeds away wide of mid-on and down in front of the Players' Pavilion.
47ov [. . . 1 . .] 138/5: Corbin 59*, Walton 2*. Eventful start to the over as Corbin spanks Permaul off the back foot into Vishaul Singh at silly point. The ball baloons back to the bowler, who takes the catch. But the two umpires, after consulting, rule that the ball had hit the turf first before crashing into Singh's shin.
Only the bowlers now to follow: Kevin McClean, Khismar Catlin, Jason Bennett and Kavesh Kantasingh.
46ov [4 . 1 W 2 .] 137/5: Corbin 58*, Walton 2*. Corbin steers a boundary to third man but the stand is halted at 107 as Crandon's accuracy does Reifer in. Walton gets off the mark first ball but the contest for first innings lead has now tilted in Guyana's favour.
Esuan Crandon strikes as Reifer plays outside the line of one that hits him in front, and Dalton Holder raises the finger. New batsman: Chadwick Walton.
WICKET: F Reifer lbw b E.Crandon 57. 135/5.
45ov [. . 1 2 1 .] 130/4: Corbin 53*, Reifer 57*. A brilliant century partnership is realised, pulling CCC from the peril of 28/4. The milestone comes off 181 balls and contains 15 boundaries.
44ov [. . . . . .] 126/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 56*. Corbin getting solidly in behind the medium pace as he lays a platform again.
Wicket-keeper Christian has moved up the stumps to Esuan Crandon.
43ov [. . . . . .] 126/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 6*. A tidy Permaul maiden as Reifer misses a few sweeps.
42ov [4 . 1 . . .] 126/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 56*. Crandon is too much leg side and Reifer glances for a boundary and then nudges through forward square leg for one.
Esuan Crandon fittingly starts from the Pace End (Roberts & Holding) although he is well short of the speed of those two gentlemen.
41ov [. . . . . .] 121/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 51*. A maiden to start but Corbin fails to understand he has to start afresh. A big cut off the back foot slices just short of backward point before an LBW appeal is turned down.
Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul operates first from the Ram & Val End, with Corbin in strike.
POST-LUNCH SESSION: Umpires Rob Bailey and Dalton Holder stride out along with the Guyana team. Kyle Corbin and Floyd Reifer join them. Another sunny session in store. Guyana were flat after an early wicket as the CCC pair blunted their attack. What is in store after the break?
Bowling: E.Crandon 7-2-26-1, Bess 11-3-29-1, Permaul 13-0-35-2, Barnwell 1-0-1-0, Bishoo 7-1-26-0, R.Crandon 1-0-1-0.
LUNCH, DAY 2: Guyana 271. CCC 121/4. Permaul grabbed the wicket of Kjorn Ottley in the third over but right-hander Corbin and his left-handed captain Reifer both batted with control and fluency to notch chanceless half centuries and pull their team around. Join us in 35 minutes for the resumption. In the meantime, enjoy your lunch and pop us an e-mail at livewindies@gmail.com
40ov [. . . 4 . .] 121/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 51*. A brilliant fightback from the CCC after being 28/4 early today. They go to lunch with the momentum as Corbin and Reifer have added 93 unbroken for the fifth wicket.
FIFTY! Reifer goes to fifty, off 83 balls, with his ninth four, a magnificent extra cover drive off Esuan Crandon.
39ov [. . 1 . . .] 117/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 47*. An over of darts from Crandon but CCC are cruising with the break in sight.
BOWLING CHANGE: Royston Crandon, with his off-spin, comes on to spell Devendra Bishoo (7-1-26-0) just before lunch.
38ov [4 . . 4 . 1] 116/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 46*. The CCC skipper moves to within sight of his fifty with two blistering drives off Esuan Crandon. The first races through extra cover, the second sweeps non-striker Corbin off his feet as it zooms to the rope.
37ov [. 1 . 4 1 .] 107/4: Corbin 50*, Reifer 37*. Corbin reaches his landmark confidently, then Reifer bangs Bishoo down the ground for his sixth four. CCC have the momentum now and the few fans around are cheering them on.
FIFTY! Corbin, who opened the batting and survived the early carnage, brings up a well-crafted half century, off 102 balls with six fours. His mum, who is at every match he plays, beats upon a saucepan to show her approval.
36ov [1 . . . . .] 101/4: Corbin 49*, Reifer 32*. Esuan Crandon is struggling to make any impact on a pitch that is now perfect for batting.
Corbin's first two half centuries came last season - 67 against the Leeward Islands at Grove Park in Nevis and 70 against Trinidad & Tobago at this same Three Ws Oval.
35ov [. 4 . 1 1 .] 100/4: Corbin 48*, Reifer 32*. Reifer whips Bishoo over midwicket for another boundary while Corbin closes in on fifty, and brings up the 100, with a firm on-drive.
The 19-year-old Corbin, in his ninth match at this level, is now in sight of only his third first-class half century.
34ov [. . 4 . 4 .] 94/4: Corbin 47*, Reifer 27*. Corbin greets Crandon's military medium with two crunching boundaries. The first is muscled over straight mid-on off the back foot, the second sends a full toss along the ground in the same vicinity.
BOWLING CHANGE: It's a double switch as seamer Esuan Crandon (3-2-4-1 yesterday) comes into the attack instead of Bess (11-3-29-1).
33ov [. . . . 1 .] 86/4: Corbin 39*, Reifer 27*. Decent start from the leg-spinner but Corbin picks off a full toss for a single.
BOWLING CHANGE: Bishoo relieves Permaul (13-0-35-2) at the Ram & Val End.
32ov [. . . . . .] 85/4: Corbin 38*, Reifer 27*. Bess is more controlled and delivers a maiden. But his pace is down and Reifer is unfussed.
31ov [1 . 4 1 1b 1] 85/4: Corbin 38*, Reifer 27*. Fifty partnership up, off 95 balls, and Reifer celebrates by lofting Permaul over midwicket for his fourth boundary.
30ov [1 . . . . .] 77/4: Corbin 37*, Reifer 21*. The sixth over in the spell from Bess fails to trouble the batsmen although Reifer swishes at a wide one and misses.
29ov [1 . 1 . . .] 76/4: Corbin 36*, Reifer 21*. Reifer lives dangerously with a airy tug off Permaul that just skews wide of short midwicket. The left-hander is beginning to become more attacking.
28ov [. . 4 . . .] 74/4: Corbin 35*, Reifer 20*. Bess tests Corbin with a short ball, and is despatched to fine leg for four. He is fuller after that but Corbin meets everything with the middle of the bat.

Permaul has figures of 11-0-26-2 and Ryan, e-mailing from Guyana, says that the left-armer should come into consideration for a West Indies play: "He's played 20 first-class matches and has 63 wickets at an average of 25.90. Not bad!" Too right, Ryan, and he's only 20 years old. He'll have to keep working hard as Sulieman Benn and Nikita Miller are the two incumbents at the moment.
Drinks: Guyana 271. CCC 70/4. A bright start for Guyana as Permaul removed Kjorn Ottley to a short leg catch in the day's third over, at 28/4. But these two have fought back gamely and their fifth wicket stand is now 42. Much more work to be done if they are to challenge for first innings lead, however.
27ov [. 1 . . . 1] 70/4: Corbin 31*, Reifer 20*. Permaul keeps plugging away but the CCC pair continue their repair work.
26ov [1 . 1 2 . nb .] 68/4: Corbin 30*, Reifer 19*. The pair blossoming but Bess looks innocuous at the moment. Maybe time for Bishoo again for a longer spell.
25ov [1 . . . . .] 63/4: Corbin 27, Reifer 18*. Permaul still on target but the partnership grows to 35.
24ov [. 4 . . . .] 62/4: Corbin 26*, Reifer 18*. Another dazzling Reifer square cut off Bess bursts through Singh at backward point and still has enough pace to roll across the road and towards Sherlock Hall. That was hit like thunder. A crucial stand developing here.
23ov [4 . 2 . . .] 58/4: Corbin 26*, Reifer 14*. Permaul's line wavers and Corbin sweeps a first ball boundary and then clips off his toes for a couple.
22ov [4 . . . . .] 52/4: Corbin 20*, Reifer 14*. A sizzling square cut from Reifer races to the backward point rope. He misses a pull and the rebound deflects to gully off the body but Bess sprays it wide after that and the batsman ignores.
Steven, from London, is with us again today: "Guyana have the momentum at the moment," he says. "I'm happy to hear the sun is out and the weather is hot. Here, it's even colder than yesterday at only 3 degrees Celsius but some good cricket from Guyana would make me forget about the cold winter outside."
21ov [. . 1 . . 1] 48/4: Corbin 20*, Reifer 10*. Both batsmen are beginning to grow in confidence and use their feet to Permaul. Corbin drives to mid-on for one and Reifer does the same.
20ov [nb 1lb 1 . . . .] 46/4: Corbin 19*, Reifer 9*. Bess sprays it about a bit and fails to worry either batsman.

BOWLING CHANGE: Pacer Brandon Bess (4-2-9-1 yesterday) replaces Bishoo (4-1-13-0) from the Roberts & Holding End. Bishoo had a brief spell of 3-1-8-0 this morning.
19ov [1 . . . . .] 43/4: Corbin 18*, Reifer 9*. Permaul in good rhythm now and Corbin nearly gives it away with a checked straight drive that just bounces before the bowler.
18ov [. 1 . 2 1 .] 42/4: Corbin 18*, Reifer 8*. Reifer pulls a Bishoo long hop to deep square leg where Bess' fancy footwork saves a four. The few spectators in close proximity suggest the ball rolled back onto the rope and let the lanky pacer know their feelings. It remains two.
17ov [. 1 . . . 1] 38/4: Corbin 17*, Reifer 5*. Permaul remains tight but the strike ticks over.
16ov [. . 4 . . .] 36/4: Corbin 16*, Reifer 4*. Corbin gets under way today by slapping a Bishoo long hop to the cover boundary. The right-hander looked more assured in that over as he settles in.
15ov [. . . W . 4] 32/4: Corbin 12*, Reifer 4*. Early breakthrough for Permaul, grabbing the scalp of an uncertain Ottley. Reifer emerges and oozes certainty with a sizzling square drive for four.
Permaul strikes in the day's third over as Ottley pops a catch to short leg where Vishaul Singh collects a simple catch. Rob Bailey, the Englishman here on the WICB-ECB umpire exchange programme, raises the finger. New batsman is captain Floyd Reifer, with much to do about something.
WICKET: K Ottley c Singh b Permaul 9. 28/4.
14ov [. . . . . .] 28/3: Corbin 12*, Ottley 9*. Bishoo sends a series of big-spinning leg breaks past a tentative Corbin. No edge, yet, however. Nor a googly . . . yet.
All-spin attack as Devendra Bishoo's leg-spin will accompany Permaul's left-armers. Kyle Corbin, unbeaten on 12, gets his first delivery this morning.
13ov [. . . 4 . .] 28/3: Corbin 12*, Ottley 9*. Permaul really flights one and Ottley strides forward purposefully and strokes a fine cover drive to the boundary out by the mahogany tree next to the scoreboard.
Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul to begin from the south, the Ramadin & Valentine End. Left-hander Kjorn Ottley, five not out on his first-class debut, faces first ball.
9:53 am: Rihanna's Pon De Replay belts out from the speakers under the Players' Pavilion and bright sunshine greets us here as we anticipate play in a few minutes. There is hardly a cloud in the sky. Perfect conditions. CCC Bowling coach Corey Collymore is slapping a few catches for six of his players. But it's the batsmen that will need to be sharp early up.
DAY 2: Guyana 271. CCC 24/3. Hosts CCC resume in deep despair as they chase the visitors' competitive total of 271. Too many batsmen gifted their wickets on day one and CCC's top order, what's left of it, will have to dig in to challenge for first innings lead.

Bowling: E.Crandon 3-2-4-1, Bess 4-2-9-1, Permaul 3-0-4-1, Barnwell 1-0-1-0, Bishoo 1-0-5-0.
STUMPS, DAY 1: Guyana 271. CCC 24/3. Guyana struggled early but Royston Crandon (94) and his older brother Esuan Crandon (48 not out) lifted them to a respectable total of 271. The CCC's struggles with the bat continue as they slumped in the final hour, losing Omar Phillips, Nekoli Parris and nightwatchman Ryan Austin. Esuan Crandon, Brandon Bess and Veerasammy Permaul each claimed one wicket.
12ov [. 2 . . . 3] 24/3: Corbin 12*, Ottley 5*. Bishoo creates much concern for Ottley, who edgily survives to the close.
DROPPED: Ottley edges Bishoo's second ball to slip, where Fudadin cannot hold a sharp low catch to his left.
BOWLING CHANGE: Devendra Bishoo, the leg-spinner, replaces Barnwell (1-0-1-0).
11ov [. 1 . . 1b .] 19/3: Corbin 12*, Ottley 0*. Permaul creates more excitement as Ottley's drive is breached but the ball skirts past the stumps, and the wicket-keeper, for a bye. One over left and the light is holding ... just!
10ov [. . 1 . . .] 17/3: Corbin 11*, Ottley 0*. Lively medium pace from Barnwell but few alarms for the pair.
BOWLING CHANGE: Christopher Barnwell replaces Brandon Bess (4-2-9-1) at the Roberts & Holding End as the skies darken.
9ov [. . . 1 . W] 16/3: Corbin 10*, Ottley 0*. Corbin reaches double figures uncertainly with an inside edged prod down through fine leg off Permaul for a single. Austin falls two balls later, his bat far away from his pad as the left-arm spinner breaches his resistance. New batsman is left-hander Kjorn Ottley.
WICKET: R Austin b Permaul 0. 16/3.
8ov [. . . . . .] 15/2: Corbin 9*, Austin 0*. After a nervous swish at a wide ball first up, Austin settles down to see out Bess, who is a bit too short and down leg side.
Five overs remain but the shadows from Sherlock Hall are intruding on the pitch now. We might not get in all 30 deliveries.
7ov [. . 2 . . .] 15/2: Corbin 9*, Austin 0*. Permaul is flat but accurate. Corbin collects a couple through the off side when he drops a bit short.
BOWLING CHANGE: Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul replaces Esuan Crandon (3-2-4-1) at the Ramadin & Valentine End.
6ov [. . . . . W] 13/2: Corbin 7*, Austin 0*. Bess strikes with his last delivery as Parris plays a rushed hook at a well-directed bouncer and can only deflect to Christian, who hauls in his second catch. CCC in peril as nightwatchman Austin makes his way to the middle.
WICKET: N Parris c wk Christian b Bess 2. 13/2.
5ov [4 . . . . .] 13/1: Corbin 7*, Parris 2*. A fine leg tickle by Corbin off Esuan Crandon runs away under the Tim Hector Media Centre for a boundary.
Eight overs remain but the sun is sinking swiftly. Ryan Austin is padded up to fill any nightwatchman services that may be needed.
4ov [1 nb 1 nb . 1 . .] 9/1: Corbin 3*, Parris 2*. Bess guilty of overtsepping twice again and fails to worry the two right-handers.
3ov [. . . . . .] 4/1: Corbin 1*, Parris 1*. Good, accurate maiden from Esuan Crandon to Parris.
2ov [. nb 1 1 . . nb .] 4/1: Corbin 1*, Parris 1*. An untidy start from Bess, with two no-balls and a few wayward ones. Good pace and bounce, though.
Brandon Bess, the lanky six foot, five inch pacer from Rosignal in west Berbice, shares the new ball with Esuan Crandon.
1ov [. . . . . W] 0/1: Corbin 0*, Parris 0*. The Crandon domination continues. Esuan strikes with final delivery as Phillips tries to force off the back foot and gets a feather to the wicket-keeper. English umpire Rob Bailey confirms the edge by raising the dreaded index finger. New batsman is Nekoli Parris.
WICKET: O Phillips c wk Christian b E Crandon 0. 0/1.
The CCC have not passed 250 in any of their six innings this season. However, the Guyanese have conceded over 400 in the first innings in each of their two matches to date. Something has to give here.
Omar Phillips will face Esuan Crandon (from the Ramadin & Valentine End) to open the CCC's reply. Kyle Corbin is Phillips' partner.
There are 12 overs remaining in the day.
Bowling: McClean 17-2-61-3, Catlin 14-1-47-3, Bennett 4-0-25-0, Kantasingh 14-3-55-0, Austin 27-4-76-3.
INNINGS END: Guyana are bowled out for 271 as the sun dips towards the Caribbean sea. The Crandon brothers led the visitors, with right-hander Royston falling six short of a second first-class century and left-hander Esuan contributing a well-crafted, unbeaten 48.
76ov [. . . . . RO] 271 all out: E Crandon 48*. The innings ends with the stop-start run out of Bess. He turns Austin's last ball to square leg and there is an easy single available. Crandon realises it's the last ball and eventually they decide against the run. But Corbin's direct hit ends the resistance of Bess.
WICKET: B Bess run out (Corbin) 6. 271 all out.
75ov [. . 1 1 . .] 271/9: E Crandon 48*, Bess 6*. Kantasingh comfortably blunted as Guyana's tailenders keep on keeping on.
74ov [. . . 1 . .] 269/9: E Crandon 47*, Bess 5*. The level-headed last wicket stand grows to 30 as Austin is frustrated.
73ov [. . . . 1 .] 268/9: E Crandon 46*, Bess 5*. Crandon has now achieved his highest first-class score, bettering the unbeaten 42 he got against the Leewards in St. Maarten in 2006. He will surely be eyeing a maiden fifty. He sheds his maroon helmet in favour of a green Guyana cap.
72ov [. . . 2 2 1] 266/9: E Crandon 45*, Bess 5*. DROPPED: Crandon lives a charmed life there, trying to lift Austin out of the ground but only skying to long-on. Catlin makes a mess of the chance, mis-judging the flight of the ball and only managing to lunge forward late but isn't able to get there.
71ov [. . . 1 . 2] 262/9: E Crandon 40*, Bess 5*. No joy for the left-armer as these two are doing it comfortably.
BOWLING CHANGE: CCC tries spin from both ends now. Kantasingh replaces McClean (17-2-61-3) at the Ram & Val End.
70ov [. . . . 1 .] 259/9: E Crandon 39*, Bess 3*. Another Crandon now stalling CCC, and Austin. Esuan is following his brother Royston's 94 with a composed innings at No.8.
69ov [1 1 . . 1 .] 258/9: E Crandon 38*, Bess 3*. The frustration continues for McClean, who can't break through.

68ov [1 nb . 2 2 1 .] 255/9: E Crandon 36*, Bess 2*. The last wicket stand ticks on to 16 as Austin delivers yet another no-ball.
67ov [nb 2 1 . . 1 .] 248/9: E Crandon 31*, Bess 1*. Guyana inch towards the 250 mark against McClean.
Ravendra from Georgetown sends his congratlations to Royston Crandon for his 94 but warns "Guyana will always be struggling once four of their most essential players (Chanderpaul, Sarwan, Deonarine and Dowlin) are missing". Good point, that, but it gives opportunities to the youngsters to showcase their skills.
Drinks: Guyana 243/9. The visitors have rallied from 118/5 but three wickets each from Catlin (14-1-47-3), McClean 15-2-53-3) and Austin (22-3-62-3) kept them in check. Even stevens here as both teams have been struggling with their batting.
66ov [. 2 1nb . . . .] 243/9: E Crandon 28*, Bess 0*. Crandon wafts at one and it skies off the edge for a couple to third man. He then jogs a single off Austin's eighth no-ball.
65ov [2 . 3nb W . W 1] 239/9: E Crandon 25*, Bess 0*. McClean cleans up two, with help from his skipper at slip. Crandon will probably open his shoulders even more now.
Another comfortable first slip catch as left-hander Bishoo slashes off the back foot and edges to give McClean his third wicket, and second in three balls. Last man is Brandon Bess.
WICKET: D Bishoo c Reifer b McClean 0. 239/9.
Permaul's adventure ends his existence. He drives loosely at McClean and only slices an edge to first slip where Reifer clings onto a good, two-handed catch to his right. New batsman: Devendra Bishoo.
WICKET: V Permaul c Reifer b McClean 8. 239/8.
CCC have been handicapped by the loss of fast bowler Jason Bennett, who sulked off the field with an injury just before tea. He seemed to clutch high up on his right arm after one delivery and he has been in the hands of trainer Andrew Simpson since. No official word on his injury yet.
64ov [. . 2 . . 2] 233/7: E Crandon 20, Permaul 8*. Permaul blunts Austin's accurate off-spin, squeezing one out through point before nudging one fine for another double.
63ov [. . . . . .] 229/7: E Crandon 20*, Permaul 4*. Maiden for McClean to Crandon.
I have some stats to support Greg's argument: CCC's totals this season have been 234 & 148/5 dec (v T&T), 213 & 187 (v Barbados) and 158 & 198 (v Windwards).
62ov [1 . . 4 . .] 229/7: E Crandon 20*, Permaul 4*. A miscue over the bowler Austin's head by Permaul is followed by a delicious lofted drive through the vacant cover region for four to get him off the mark.
Remember, you can e-mail your thoughts and comments to livewindies@gmail.com. Greg, from Georgetown, is in optimistic mood. He says: "Our bowlers will defend whatever total we end up with. Bishoo and Permaul will eat up the CCC". We'll see. For now, Permaul is defiant with the bat in partnership with Esuan Crandon.
61ov [. . . . nb . .] 224/7: E Crandon 19*, Permaul 0*. Just the no-ball as Permaul spends most of the McClean over hopping onto the back foot and defending.
Permaul, a wiry right-hander, notched his highest first-class score - 42 - against Jamaica a few days ago at Foursquare. He needs another defiant performance here to push Guyana towards respectability.
60ov [. . . . . .] 223/7: E Crandon 19*, Permaul 0*. Austin spends the over tempting Esuan with some flighted off-breaks outside off stump but the big-hitter ignores most of them.
59ov [4 . 3 . . .] 223/7. E Crandon 19*, Permaul 0*. McClean comes into Esuan's briar patch (full and on his legs) and is put away with a flourish. Another leg side delivery gains three.
58ov [1 1 . W . .] 216/7: E Crandon 12*, Permaul 0*. Austin claims his third to wreck Royston Crandon's century ambitions. Live by the sword, die by the sword. The right-hander just didn't hit that cleanly. Good flight by Austin, who is deservingly rewarded. New batsman: Veerasammy Permaul.
Royston falls agonisingly short of a century. He tries to hit Austin over the leg side but miscues to straight midwicket where McClean plucks a nice catch two-handed over his head. A fine innings that spanned 151 balls, 264 minutes and included six fours and four sixes.
WICKET: R Crandon c McClean b Austin 94. 216/7.
57ov [. . . 2 . 1] 214/6: R Crandon 93*, E Crandon 11*. Royston seeing the ball like a breadfruit now, showing no nerves as he eases towards three figures.
CCC's over rate is pretty poor today, even with Kantasingh and Austin sharing 26 overs. Only 56 overs gone and we're well into the final session.
BOWLING CHANGE: Kevin McClean takes over from Catlin, who had just one over after tea, from the Ram & Val End, which is the end closest to the science labs and administration buildings.
56ov [. 2 . . . .] 211/6: R Crandon 90*, E Crandon 11*. Eventful stuff as Austin should have claimed his third but Wallace muffed a sitter. Two balls later, he thought he had Esuan again but square leg umpire Rob Bailey seemed to advise standing umpire Dalton Holder that the edge to Kyle Corbin at gully was on the bounce.
DROPPED: A terrible miss by substitute Gavin Wallace at cover as Esuan skies a drive off Austin. He seemed to have that covered but hardly laid a finger on it.
55ov [1 1 . . 1 3] 209/6: R Crandon 90*, E Crandon 9*. Royston moves to 90 with a few singles off Catlin.
Catlin operates from the Ramadin & Valentine End as activity around the campus begins to heighten. It's a Friday afternoon and classes are ending. Students heading to various liming spots, no doubt, after a strenuous week. Not many taking in the cricket, however.
54ov [. . . 4 . .] 203/6: R Crandon 88*, E Crandon 5*. Esuan neatly puts away an Austin full toss, his controlled on-drive racing past wide mid-on.
Austin, who has really been in good rhythm today, will start from the Roberts & Holding End, to left-hander Esuan.
POST-TEA SESSION: Royston Crandon, the 26-year-old from Rose Hall Town, in within two hits of his second first-class century. He and his older brother Esuan (aged 28) will be keen to stretch Guyana's total well past 200.
Bowling: McClean 10-1-36-1, Catlin 13-1-41-3, Bennett 4-0-25-0, Kantasingh 11-3-49-0, Austin 15-2-41-2.
TEA, DAY 1: Guyana 199/6 off 53 overs. A better session for Guyana as they added 102 runs for the loss of two wickets off 29 overs. Royston Crandon was superb as he played some typically beefy strokes on his way to 88 not out off 138 balls with six fours and four sixes.
