Commentary:
Thanks for joining us over the four days and be sure to be back on Friday when the show moves to Trinidad.
So leg-spinner Odean Brown (8/54 & 2/79 = 10-133) and off-spinner Tamar Lambert (2/21 & 8/42 = 10-63) have bowled Jamaica to victory. Don't forget Donovan Pagon's two half centuries (80 & 52). I'm afraid it's another poor batting display from West Indian batsmen on a whole, and CCC in particular. But Jamaica are happy!!
Bowling: Richardson 4-0-14-0, Bernard 3-0-17-0 (nb1), B. Brown 4-1-7-0, O. Brown 36-9-79-2 (nb3), Lambert 31.1-9-42-8, Dawes 2-0-12-0, Bonner 1-1-0-0.
JAMAICA 202 & 164. CCC 161 & 176.
RESULT: Jamaica beat CCC by 29 runs.
Lambert, the rotund off-spinner, came into this match with a total of 25 wickets in 51 first-class matches and has produced a memorable performance to bowl his team to victory. He also took two wickets in the first innings so expect him to be Man of the Match. Jamaica vault to 48 points from four matches. Barbados are second on 45 points from five matches. The two teams meet in the next round in Trinidad.
JAMAICA HAVE WON!! Catlin pushes long forward and the ball kisses the edge for Parchment to take a nice, sharp catch low down at first slip. Captain Lambert has done the job and finishes with 8/42.
WICKET: K Catlin c Parchment b Lambert 0. 176 all out.
81ov [. . . . . .] 176/9: Austin 5*, Catlin 0*. CHANCE: Carlton Baugh grasses Austin's edged cut at Odean Brown. That should have been the end but CCC live to fight again. Still 30 away, though.
80ov [. 1 W . . .] 176/9: Austin 5*, Catlin 0*. Well, Lambert is producing a match-winning effort here. He now has 30-9-42-7 and Jamaica are within one wicket of their fourth straight win, which would put them in the box seat for the 2010 title.
Seven wickets for Lambert!!! Kantasingh won't want to see the replay of that shot. He tried to paddle/sweep and came right across his stumps and was sent on his way when he missed.
WICKET: K Kantasingh lbw b Lambert 1. 176/9.
79ov [. 1 1 . . .] 175/8: Austin 4*, Kantasingh 1*. The defiance continues against Odean Brown. 31 needed now with two wickets in tact.
78ov [. . 2 . . .] 173/8: Austin 3*, Kantasingh 0*. Austin gathers a couple off the outside edge past slip off Lambert.
77ov [. 2 W . . .] 171/8: Austin 1*, Kantasingh 0*. Jamaica now have the edge with 35 needed with only two wickets in hand.
Brown claims his second of the innings, and 10th of the match. Wallace is beaten in the flight and chips a catch back to the bowler, who goes low to hold the easy chance.
WICKET: G Wallace c and b O Brown 2. 171/8.
Remember, CCC are chasing 206 to win ... 37 more needed, three wickets left.
76ov [. . . . . .] 169/7: Austin 1*, Wallace 0*. Austin plays Lambert confidently for the first five balls but is beaten by the arm ball off the final delivery.
75ov [. 1 . . . .] 169/7: Austin 1*, Wallace 0*. Pressure kept on by Odean Brown.
74ov [. . . . W .] 168/7: Austin 0*, Wallace 0*. What a spell from Lambert. He claims the last recognised batsman and it's now up to Austin, Wallace, Kantasingh and Catlin.
New batsman: Gavin Wallace. A Jamaican trying to defy the Jamaicans.
A huge wicket, Lambert's sixth. Corbin tries to make room and cut through the off side but feathers an edge which the pint-sized Baugh just manages to cling onto with help from his pads and body. What a match we have on. Jamaica tilt the balance their way.
WICKET: K Corbin c wk Baugh b Lambert 38. 168/7.
73ov [1 . . . . .] 168/6: Corbin 38*, Austin 0*. Another Corbin drive to long-off. Austin survives against Odean Brown, this time with a little more bother.
72ov [1 . . . . .] 167/6: Corbin 37*, Austin 0*. After Corbin strokes Lambert to long-off, Austin meets everything with the middle of the bat.
71ov [. 1 . . . .] 166/6: Corbin 36*, Austin 0*. Corbin picks off another single off Odean Brown (40 now needed to win, four wickets left).
70ov [1 . 1 1 . W] 165/6: Corbin 35*, Austin 0*. Lambert's first ever five-wicket haul in first-class cricket may have shifted the course of the match. The impressive partnership of 47 is broken.
Lambert snares his fifth and Jamaica are back in it. McClean plays half-cocked in defense and misses and Gazi Sohel raises the finger. New batsman: Ryan Austin.
WICKET: K McClean lbw b Lambert 9. 165/6.
69ov [. 1 1 . . .] 162/5: Corbin 33*, McClean 8*. Odean Brown fighting to make an impression.
Drinks: CCC have enjoyed that hour more than Jamaica. Resuming on 115/4, the lost their skipper Floyd Reifer to a stunning catch at long-on off Lambert but these two have added 42 unbroken since then and the 19-year-old Corbin, who is still trying to shake off an illness, has batted with fluency, intelligence and skill (I hope I haven't put the curse on him!). Still a tight race to the finish. CCC need 46 more, Jamaica need five wickets.
68ov [. . 1 1 . .] 160/5: Corbin 32*, McClean 7*. Lambert kept at bay.
67ov [. . . 4 . 1] 158/5: Corbin 31*, McClean 6*. More positive batting from Corbin. He advances to Odean Brown and, although beaten in flight, is still intelligent enough to steer it, with a hint of an edge, down to third man, where Bonner's despairing dive can't haul it in. An off drive gets him a single, and the strike.
A real intense battle unfolding here. CCC need 53 more runs to win. Jamaica need five wickets. Somebody send for Tante Merle ... she may be jumping up on the streets of Port-of-Spain today, though. After all, it's Carnival Monday.
66ov [4 1 . . . .] 153/5: Corbin 26*, McClean 6*. A gorgeous Corbin off drive pierces the ring and races across this lovely outfield for four. Lambert later has a loud LBW shout against McClean turned down by Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohel.
65ov [. 1nb . . . 1 .] 148/5: Corbin 21*, McClean 6*. This stand continues to develop as Odean Brown can't find a way through.
64ov [. 1 . . . .] 145/5: Corbin 20*, McClean 5*. Lambert continues to be tight.
63ov [4 . . 4 . .] 144/5: Corbin 20*, McClean 4*. Two boundaries for Corbin as he advances and hits Oden Brown over the leg side. The first is not fully convincing and David Bernard at deep backward square leg should have stopped it going for four. The second clears mid-on by a long way and races to the rope.
62ov [. . . . 2 .] 136/5: Corbin 12*, McLean 4*. A couple as McClean tickles Lambert to fine leg.
61ov [. 2 . . . .] 134/5: Corbin 12*, McClean 2*. Odean Brown out-foxes Corbin, who comes out of his crease and tries to on-drive against the spin. The batsman gets a healthy outside edge and profits with a couple to third man. A loud LBW appeal is then turned down by Anandjit before another false shot ends the over. But Corbin survives.
60ov [4 . . . . 1] 132/5: Corbin 10*, McClean 2*. Corbin breaks the shackles by lifting Lambert one bounce over mid-off and then retains the strike by clipping a single into the leg side.
59ov [. 1 . . . .] 127/5: Corbin 5*, McClean 2*. Odean Brown keeps the pressure on. CCC now require 79 runs to win with five wickets left.
58ov [. . . 1 . .] 126/5: Corbin 4*, McClean 2*. An crisp on-drive by Corbin brings long-on into play and gains him one off Lambert.
57ov [. . 1 2 . 4b] 125/5: Corbin 3*, McClean 2*. CCC have a productive over as McClean steers past slip for a double before he misses a drive and the googly turns past everything and everyone and races to the fence.
56ov [W . . . . .] 118/5: Corbin 2*, McClean 0*. Lambert now has a career-best haul (19-8-19-4), thanks to a stunning catch. No wonder Nkrumah Bonner lifted Bernard high into the air as the other jubilant Jamaicans came from all over the outfield to congratulate the catcher. A big setback for CCC as their captain departs.
New batsman: Kevin McClean.
A brilliant grab by David Bernard on the long-on boundary tips the balance in Jamaica's favour. Reifer advanced down the pitch and hit the ball flat and hard but Bernard reacted sharply, sprinting five yards to his right and lunging low to his right to cling on to an absolutely magnificent catch.
WICKET: F Reifer c Bernard b Lambert 26. 118/5.
55ov [. . . . . .] 118/4: Reifer 26*, Corbin 2*. Another Odean Brown maiden. A cautious CCC start with three runs coming off the first six overs.
54ov [. . . . 1 .] 118/4: Reifer 26*, Corbin 2*. Lambert misfields a straight drive and Corbin scampers through for one.
53ov [. . . . . .] 117/4: Reifer 26*, Corbin 1*. Odean Brown delivers a maiden to Reifer.
52ov [. . . . . .] 117/4: Reifer 26*, Corbin 1*. Corbin tries to swing over the leg side and misses first ball but then settles down to be more circumspect after that.
Bowling change: Captain Tamar Lambert, who had figures of 16-6-18-3 yesterday with his off-spin, replaces Bonner after one experimental over.
51ov [1 . . . 1 .] 117/4: Reifer 26*, Corbin 1*. Both batsmen get going. Reifer tickles one around the corner while Corbin gets a rank long hop and pulls hard but straight to deep backward square leg.
Predictable choice from the other end, the Media Centre End, as the other leg-spinner, Odean Brown, with nine wickets in the match so far, begins to the CCC captain Floyd Reifer.
50ov [. . . . . .] 115/4: Reifer 25*, Corbin 0*. A decent first over in first-class cricket for the 21-year-old.
A surprising move by Jamaica captain Tamar Lambert to start. It will be the leg-spin of Nkrumah Bonner to start proceedings, from the Pavilion End. Kyle Corbin will face.
Enough speculation, let's leave that to the Wall Street gurus. We will stick to the action now. Play is less than ten minutes away.
Should Jamaica win, that would push them to a maximum 48 points from 4 matches and make it very difficult for anyone to surpass them. If CCC triumph, and assuming Barbados beat Guyana over at Albion, the top of the table would read as such heading into the final two rounds: Barbados 45 (from 5), Jamaica 40 (from 4), CCC 36 (from 5).
CCC resume on 115/4 in pursuit of 206 to win. The equation is simple: CCC need 91 more runs. Jamaica need 6 more wickets. As I see it, there are three results still possible with outright victories for either team plus the prospect of a tie looms as well. The draw is out of the question.
DAY 4: Welcome to Providence Stadium where another sunny day greets us as we prepare for a final day which will surely decide if the WICB regional four-day championship will become a contest again or if two-time defending champions Jamaica will put one hand on their three-peat.
What an absorbing day's cricket with Jamaica slumping for 164 and CCC starting well, then slumping, then recovering in their chase of 206. They are still 91 away from their target with six wickets in tact. Their captain Floyd Reifer will have a big part to play.
CLOSE, DAY 3: Jamaica 202 and 164. CCC 161 and 115/4 (Omar Phillips 35, Floyd Reifer 25 not out, Jamal Smith 24; Tamar Lambert 3/18).
49ov [. . . . . .] 115/4: Reifer 25*, Corbin 0*. Maiden by Lambert to finish.
48ov [. W . . . .] 115/4: Reifer 25*, Corbin 0*. Brown finally strikes.
New batsman: Kyle Corbin.
Odean Brown finally breaks through, and what a vital time to do it. He breaks the blossoming stand just before the close. Ottley pushes forward and feathers a thin edge to the wicket-keeper. The match tilts even so slightly in Jamaica's favour.
WICKET: K Ottley c wk Baugh b O Brown 25. 115/4.
47ov [1 . . 2 . .] 115/3: Ottley 25*, Reifer 25*. A very important 50 stand is raised by these two. Still 91 to get for the CCC with seven wickets in hand. Six minutes left tonight.
Bowling change: Lambert returns to the attack instead of Dawes (2-0-12-0).
46ov [. . 4 . 4 .] 112/3: Ottley 24*, Reifer 23*. Reifer now gets a couple fours, driving powerfully straight down the ground then slashing a square cut just wide of slip off Odean Brown.
45ov [. . . 4 . 4] 104/3: Ottley 24*, Reifer 15*. Two contrasting boundaries for Ottley off Dawes. The first is a sizzling square cut that is sent rocketing to the backward point rope where even the sweeper cannot haul in it. The next is an inside edge that beats the stumps and the wicket-keeper and heads down to the very fine leg boundary.
44ov [. . 1 . . .] 96/3: Ottley 16*, Reifer 15*. Right back on a good spot from the 28-year-old leg-spinner.
Bowling change: Odean Brown is right back into the attack to spell the terrific Lambert.
43ov [1 . . . 2 1] 95/3: Ottley 15*, Reifer 15*. A bit too leg side to start from Dawes and the left-handers work a few on the leg side for runs.
Bowling change:Young pacer Jason Dawes gets his first chance, replacing the wicketless but tidy Odean Brown (16-3-39-0).
42ov [1 . . . . .] 91/3: Ottley 12*, Reifer 14*. Lambert plugs away but can't add to his three wickets (14-5-14-3).
CCC, after bowling out Jamaica earlier for 164, are chasing 206 to win.
Half hour remains today but whatever happens in those 30 minutes, tomorrow should be an intriguing day in the battle for 12 points.
41ov [. 1 . . 2 .] 90/3: Ottley 12*, Reifer 13*. These two continue to tilt the balance slightly towards CCC.
40ov [. 4 . . . .] 87/3: Ottley 10*, Reifer 12*. Ottley on-drives straight for a boundary off Lambert.
39ov [1 . . 1 . 2] 83/3: Ottley 6*, Reifer 12*. A couple loud shouts but still no success for Odean Brown.
38ov [1 1 . . 1 .] 79/3: Ottley 5*, Reifer 9*. More assured stuff by both these players against Lambert.
37ov [1 . . . nb . .] 76/3: Ottley 4*, Reifer 7*. These two left-handers trying to breathe new life into the chase. 206 is the target.
36ov [1 . . 1 . .] 74/3: Ottley 4*, Reifer 6*. The batsmen resist Lambert more easily this time around.
35ov [. . 1 . . 4] 72/3: Ottley 3*, Reifer 5*. After a tortuous start, Reifer finally boosts his confidence when Odean Brown drops short and he swings a pull to the midwicket fence.
34ov [1 . . . . .] 67/3: Ottley 2*, Reifer 1*. Another loud appeal against Reifer. This time by Lambert. Slipping down leg.
33ov [. . . . . .] 66/3: Ottley 1*, Reifer 1*. The spinners well on top. Odean Brown thinks he has his first wicket but umpire Anandjit says not out as they appeal for a short leg catch as Reifer miscues a sweep. Probably brushed arm rather than glove.
32ov [. W . . . 1] 66/3: Ottley 1*, Reifer 1*. Lambert (9-5-4-3) has completely changed the complexion of this match.
Drinks break: Jamaica have seduced a collapse as CCC dipped from a happy 62 without loss to 65 for three. Lambert the wrecker.
Parchment makes no mistake this time at slip, swooping forward to pouch Walton's low edge off Lambert, who now has all three wickets.
WICKET: C Walton c Parchment b Lambert 2. 65/3.
31ov [. . 1 . . .] 65/2: Ottley 1*, Walton 2*. CHANCE! Ottley gets a thin edge and Parchment cannot cling on to the sharp, low catch to his right. Jamaica sense they can really rip apart the CCC batting now.
30ov [. 1 . . W 1] 64/2: Ottley 1*, Walton 1*. Lambert has two crucial wickets.
New batsman: Chadwick Walton.
Lambert claims another and Jamaica are rampant. Phillips makes room to cut but the ball is too close to him and he feathers a clear edge to the wicket-keeper.
WICKET: O Phillips c wk Baugh b Lambert 35. 63/2.
29ov [. . . . . .] 62/1: Phillips 35*, Ottley 0*. Maiden by Odean Brown to Phillips.
28ov [. . . . W .] 62/1: Phillips 35*, Ottley 0*. Wicket maiden from Lambert shifts the momentum.
New batsman: Kjorn Ottley.
Smith stretches out and tries to push a drive through the off side but misses and the off-break turns back and rattles the stumps. Crucial scalp for the Jamaica captain. CCC need 144 more to win with nine wickets in hand.
WICKET: J Smith b Lambert 24. 62/1.
27ov [. . . 1 . .] 62/0: Phillips 35*, Smith 24*. Smith drives for a single as Odean Brown completes his tenth over without a wicket (10-1-24-0).
26ov [. . . . . .] 61/0: Phillips 35*, Smith 23*. Tidy Lambert maiden but no alarms for Phillips.
25ov [1 1 . . . .] 61/0: Phillips 35*, Smith 23*. Odean Brown can't penetrate as Phillips and Smith continue to progress smoothly.
24ov [. . . . . .] 59/0: Phillips 34*, Smith 22*. Lambert sends down another maiden to Phillips as Jamaica keep seeking a breakthrough with spin.
23ov [. . 1 . . .] 59/0: Phillips 34*, Smith 22*.
22ov [. . . . . .] 58/0: Phillips 33*, Smith 22*.
21ov [. 4 . . . nb .] 58/0: Phillips 33*, Smith 22*.
20ov [. . 1 . . .] 53/0: Phillips 29*, Smith 22*. CCC ticking off these runs.
Phillips has shed his maroon helmet and is now bare-headed.
19ov [. . . 1 . .] 52/0: Phillips 28*, Smith 22*. Odean Brown still wicketless.
18ov [. . . . . .] 51/0: Phillips 27*, Smith 22*. Second straight maiden for Lambert to Smith after the break.
17ov [. . 1 . 1 .] 51/0: Phillips 27*, Smith 22*. Odean Brown hasn't found the rhythm he had in the first innings yet.
16ov [. . . . . .] 49/0: Phillips 26*, Smith 21*. A maiden to start to Smith as Lambert, who resembles reggae star Sean Kingston, is right on the spot.
The captain Tamar Lambert will take up the bowling after the interval.
A good day so far for CCC as they restricted Jamaica to 164 all out in their second innings and have made an encouraging start to their pursuit of 206 to win. The final session, under the lights, will go a long way towards determining the outcome of this match.
TEA, DAY 3: Jamaica 202 and 164 (Donovan Pagon 52, Tamar Lambert 23; Kavesh Kantasingh 4/53, Gavin Wallace 3/16, Kevin McClean 2/28). CCC 161 and 49/0 (Omar Phillips 26 not out, Jamal Smith 21 not out).

15ov [1 1 . . 2 1] 49/0: Phillips 26*, Smith 21*. More positive intentions from CCC's openers against Odean Brown, looking for the gaps and getting to tea unscathed.
14ov [. 1 1 . . .] 44/0: Phillips 25*, Smith 17*. The running is now urgent as both batsmen scamper tight singles off Bevon Brown.
Just five minutes until tea ... maybe two overs left.
13ov [2 . . 1 1 .] 42/0: Phillips 24*, Smith 16*. Nice assured play from both batsmen against the leg-spin of Odean Brown.
Remember, CCC are chasing 206 to win.
12ov [. . 2 . . 2] 38/0: Phillips 23*, Smith 13*. A double couples (if that's not too confusing) for Phillips off Bevon Brown, the first clipped fine on the leg side, the next punched off the back foot fine of backward point.
11ov [. . 1 . . .] 34/0: Phillips 19*, Smith 13*. The only bad ball from Odean Brown is carved out to the off side sweeper for a single by Phillips.
The floodlights begin to shine here as the daylight starts to fade and the shadows lengthen.
10ov [. . . . . .] 33/0: Phillips 18*, Smith 13*. Smith presents the full face to an accurate Bevon Brown six-pack.
9ov [. . . . . .] 33/0: Phillips 18*, Smith 13*. A good start with one confident appeal turned down fifth ball as Phillips played back and was hit on the pads. Probably turning past leg stump is what umpire Anandjit reckoned.
All-spin now as Odean Brown, with the confidence of his eight-wicket first innings haul oozing through him, takes over from Richardson (4-0-14-0).
8ov [. . 1 . . .] 33/0: Phillips 18*, Smith 13*. Just the single down to long-on for Phillips off Bevon Brown.
Spin arrives as Bevon Brown, with his off-spin, replaces David Bernard (3-0-17-0).
7ov [4 . 1 . . .] 32/0: Phillips 17*, Smith 13*. Less convincing this over from Phillips, who twice plays expansive off drives off Richardson and gathers runs through fine leg off the inside edge, the first one narrowly missing the stumps on its way for four.
Satisfying start here for CCC as they chase 206 to win but they will remember that they were 49 without loss in the first innings and collapsed to 161 all out with leg-spinner Odean Brown grabbing 8/54.
6ov [. . . 1lb 2 1] 27/0: Phillips 12*, Smith 13*. No worries here for CCC against Bernard's medium pace. Surely, time for spin.
5ov [. . . . 1 .] 23/0: Phillips 9*, Smith 13*. Aggressive start from the CCC but spin will soon become a factor, no doubt.
4ov [. 4 . . 1 4] 22/0: Phillips 9*, Smith 12*. Both batsmen collect boundaries off Bernard. Smith gets one thanks to a misfield by Hyatt (gully) and Bonner (point), neither of whom can gather in a punch off the back foot. Phillips steers through vacant third man off the front foot.
Smith is batting in a blue CCC cap. Not many batsmen in the first-class game are willing to face the quickies without a helmet. But, to be fair, Smith is six foot, three and nothing on this pitch has managed to get up that high yet.
3ov [. 4 . . 1 .] 13/0: Phillips 5*, Smith 7*. A gorgeous punch off the back foot by Smith off Richardson races across the lush green outfield for a boundary.
2ov [. . nb . 4 . .] 8/0: Phillips 5*, Smith 2*. A scorching square drive by Phillips rockets past gully for a boundary.
David Bernard Jr. shares the pink berry with Richardson.
1ov [1 . . . . 2] 3/0: Phillips 1*, Smith 2*. Both batsmen under way off Richardson.
Andrew Richardson starts for Jamaica from the Media Centre End.
CCC have 206 to win but have an early setback as Kyle Corbin, who was off the field all day feeling ill, is not able to open the batting. Instead, Omar Phillips, the left-hander, will be partnered by Jamal Smith, the tall, bespectacled right-hander.
Bowling figures: McClean 7-1-28-2 (nb3), Kantasingh 24-5-53-4, Austin 11-2-34-0 (nb5), Catlin 2-0-17-0, Wallace 5.4-1-16-3.
49.5ov [. 4b . . W] 164 all out. Dawes 2*. Jamaica have folded disappointingly here to give CCC an opportunity.
Wallace claims three as Odean Brown tries to turn a leg-break into the leg side and only manages to spoon a leading edge back to the bowler for an easy catch. CCC have a realistic chance here even though their batting has been struggling this season. Their victory target is 206.
WICKET: O Brown c and b Wallace 10. 164 all out.
49ov [. . . . . .] 160/9: O Brown 10*, Dawes 2*. A steady Kantasingh maiden stalls Dawes.
48ov [1 6 1 1 . .] 160/9: O Brown 10*, Dawes 2*. Brown swings Wallace lustily over square leg for a maximum and Jamaica's lead goes past 200.
47ov [. . . . . .] 151/9: O Brown 3*, Dawes 0*. Kantasingh close to a fifth scalp but Brown survives.
46ov [. W 2 1 W .] 151/9: O Brown 3*, Dawes 0*. A double strike from Wallace in that over leaves the game delicately poised.
That's more like it from Wallace. A perfectly-pitched leg-break draws Bernard forward and entices an edge which Reifer at slip gobbles up. CCC still in the hunt. Jamaica only lead by 192.
WICKET: D Bernard c Reifer b Wallace 10. 151/9.
New batsman: Odean Brown, the eight-wicket hero for Jamaica in CCC's first innings.
CCC fighting here. Wallace claims a lucky wicket with a rank full toss. Bevon Brown tries to swing it over square leg but misses and is plumb in front. The bowler hangs his head in embarrassment after gaining a scalp in that way. Brown should be the one hanging his head.
WICKET: B Brown lbw b Wallace 2. 148/8.
45ov [. 1lb 1 . . .] 148/7: Bernard 10*, B Brown 2*. Kantasingh keeps searching for wicket number five, but no alarms for the two Bs.
44ov [. . . . . .] 146/7: Bernard 10*, B Brown 1*. Wallace comes close to claiming Brown, who slices a drive uppishly but just away from the cover fielder, then misses a cut and is nearly bowled.
43ov [1 1 . . . .] 146/7: Bernard 10*, B Brown 1*. A couple of singles off Kantasingh.
42ov [. . . RO . 1] 144/7: Bernard 9*, B Brown 0*. CCC keep grabbing wickets to keep the contest still in their reach.
A brilliant pick-up from backward point by Currency and a direct hit of the bowler's stumps finds Pagon a few inches short. The batsmen set off a bit late and paid the price. New batsman: Bevon Brown.
WICKET: D Pagon run out (sub - Currency) 52. 143/7.
Reserve umpire Nigel Duguid comes out with a box of replacement balls (they are using the Duke County) but the ball is recovered and there is no need for a change.
41ov [W . . . 2 6] 143/6: Pagon 52*, Bernard 8*. An early Kantasingh strike but Bernard gets going with a couple down fine leg and then send the pink ball high over long-on when given a juicy full toss.
New batsman: David Bernard Jr.
Another long forward defensive cannot save the batsman as Banglaeshi umpire Gazi Sohel takes a long look before sending Baugh. Dangerous business using the pad. If it was between wicket and wicket, a fair decision. Baugh shakes his head suggesting he thought he was unlucky.
WICKET: C Baugh lbw b Kantasingh 14. 135/6.
Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh will begin from the Pavilion End.
40ov [. . 2 . . 1] 135/5: Pagon 52*, Baugh 14*. Decent enough six balls from Wallace, but Baugh leans back and cuts twice for runs.
Leg-spinner Gavin Wallace, used sparingly in the match by captain Floyd Reifer, will start from the Media Centre End, to fellow Jamaican Carlton Baugh, on 11 not out.
Sunny skies continue to bless us this Valentine's Day. Jamaica are ready to resume on 132/5. Pagon is actually 52 not out. His captain Tamar Lambert made 23 (a quick adjustment after checking with the official scorers over lunch).
Bowling: McClean 7-1-28-2, Kantasingh 19-3-42-3, Austin 11-2-34-0, Catlin 2-0-17-0.
LUNCH, DAY 3: Jamaica 202 and 132/5. CCC 161. The table-toppers are 173 runs ahead with five second innings wickets in hand. They have the edge but CCC will be keen to stay in contention by wrapping up the innings swiftly after the break. Pagon, on 53, is heading Jamaica's effort while Kantasingh, with three wickets, and McClean, with two, have spearheaded the CCC bowling.

39ov [. . . . 1 .] 132/5: Pagon 53*, Baugh 11*. Kantasingh finishes play before lunch with a tidy over but Jamaica are in a good position.
38ov [. . . . . 3nb .] 131/5: Pagon 53*, Baugh 10*. Austin is punched through the covers by Baugh for a treble.
37ov [. . . . 2 .] 127/5: Pagon 53*, Baugh 7*. Pagon meets everything with a broad bat against Kantasingh.
36ov [. . . . . 4] 125/5: Pagon 51*, Baugh 7*. A top-edged sweep by Baugh off Austin just goes fine of the fielder for a boundary.
35ov [. 1 . 1 . .] 121/5: Pagon 51*, Baugh 3*. Kantasingh plugs away.
34ov [1 . . . . 1] 119/5: Pagon 50*, Baugh 2*. A second half century of the match for Pagon - and fourth for the season - as he nudges the last ball backward of square in the leg side off Austin.
33ov [. . W . 1 .] 117/5: Pagon 49*, Baugh 1*. Kantasingh claims his third. Jamaica's lead is just 158.
New batsman: Carlton Baugh Jr.
A tough debut for Bonner, who edges Kantasingh to slip where Reifer lunges forward to claim the catch. Very close to not getting there full but square leg umpire Anandjit confirmed that it carried.
WICKET: N Bonner c Reifer b Kantasingh 8. 116/5.
32ov [. . . . . .] 116/4: Pagon 49*, Bonner 8*. Pagon is prepared to wait for a fifty as he plays out an Austin maiden.
31ov [. 4 . . . .] 116/4: Pagon 49*, Bonner 8*. A fluent drive off Kantasingh through the covers off the back foot signals a growing confidence in Bonner.
30ov [. . . nb . . .] 112/4: Pagon 49*, Bonner 4*. Austin's appeal for a leg side catch off Pagon is turned down.
29ov [. 1 . 1 1 .] 111/4: Pagon 49*, Bonner 4*. Kantasingh cannot break through.
28ov [. . . 1nb . 1 .] 108/4: Pagon 47*, Bonner 3*. DROPPED: Pagon, on the back foot, edges a sharp, low catch to slip off Austin but Reifer cannot cling on.
27ov [. . . . . .] 105/4: Pagon 46*, Bonner 2*. Kantasingh repeats the dose to Pagon.
26ov [. . . . . .] 105/4: Pagon 46*, Bonner 2*. Maiden from Austin to Bonner.
25ov [. . 3b . 1 2] 105/4: Pagon 46*, Bonner 2*. Jamaica continue to progress against Kantasingh.
Bowling change: Kantasingh, as predicted, does spell Catlin.
24ov [2 2 . . 1nb . .] 99/4: Pagon 44*, Bonner 1*. An untidy start from Austin, too leg side and Pagon closes in on a second half century in the match.
Bowling change: Ryan Austin replaces fellow spinner Kavesh Kantasingh from the Media Centre End. After that expensive Catlin over, the left-armer may be switching ends.
It's drinks time. Jamaica, resuming on 37/2, have lost nightwatchman Richardson, caught at first slip off McClean for 9, and captain Tamar Lambert, lbw to Kantasingh for an enterprising 22. The competition leaders are now ahead by 134 runs.
23ov [4 4 4b 4 . 1] 93/4: Pagon 39*, Bonner 1*. Eventful over from Catlin. A hat-trick of boundaries to Pagon through the off side, the first bursts through Currency low at gully but not really a chance, the next two are gloriously struck off front foot and then back foot, racing out to the backward point/third man rope. The last ball brings an edge which Reifer at slip drops. Not sure if it was a chance or if was squeezed into the turf first.
22ov [. . . . . .] 76/4: Pagon 26*, Bonner 1*. A maiden over of Bonner forward defensives to Kantasingh.
21ov [2 1 1 . . .] 76/4: Pagon 26*, Bonner 1*. Catlin is a bit too short early and Pagon picks him off twice to the off-side sweeper. Bonner then gets going by dropping one into the off side and sprinting through for a single.
Bowling change: Khismar Catlin replaces fellow pacer Kevin McClean (7-1-28-2) from the Pavilion End. McClean remains on the field so it's a tactical decision, not one forced by an injury.
20ov [1 4 . W . .] 72/4: Pagon 23*, Bonner 0*. Kantasingh halts Lambert's positive innings and keeps a nervous Bonner from getting his first run in first-class cricket.
New batsman: Nkrumah Bonner, on a pair.
Kantasingh gets his second as Lambert stretches long forward in defense but misses and umpire Anandjit raises the finger. The Jamaica skipper was a long way down but, on this pitch, it won't be going over.
WICKET: T Lambert lbw b Kantasingh 22. 72/4.
19ov [. 4 . . . .] 67/3: Pagon 22*, Lambert 18*. A delightful straight drive by Lambert greets McClean, who settles after that and beats the Jamaica captain outside off.
Bowling change: McClean is back to replace Austin (3-0-14-0) at the Pavilion End, where he claimed the wickets of Parchment, yesterday, and Richardson, today.
18ov [. . . 4 . .] 63/3: Pagon 22*, Lambert 14*. A lofted stroke by Pagon goes one bounce into the midwicket boundary off Kantasingh.
17ov [. 1 6 nb . . .] 59/3: Pagon 18*, Lambert 14*. Austin continues, and Pagon nearly gives away his hand, trying to hit over the top but tugging just over midwicket. Lambert shows how it's done next ball with a nice, clean stroke that sails over long-off. A no-ball then takes Jamaica's lead to exactly 100.
16ov [. 1 1 . . .] 51/3: Pagon 17*, Lambert 8*. A couple of off-side singles off Kantasingh as Jamaica pass fifty.
McClean is back on the field, stretching keenly. CCC physio Andrew Simpson, who was once attached to the West Indies team, no doubt had a quick look at what was bothering the quickie and gave him the all-clear.
15ov [4 1 . . . .] 49/3: Pagon 16*, Lambert 7*. Austin over-pitches and Lambert launches him over mid-off ... two bounces over the rope.
14ov [. . . . . 1] 44/3: Pagon 16*, Lambert 2*. A nudge into the leg side gets Lambert a single off Kantasingh.
13ov [. . 1 . . .] 43/3: Pagon 16*, Lambert 1*. Austin, as expected of a man fresh off a ten-wicket match haul against Guyana and a five-wicket bag in the first innings here, starts well. Lambert gets off the mark by steering one wide of slip.
Bowling change: McClean (6-1-24-2) has left the field so Ryan Austin replaces him at the Pavilion End.
12ov [. . . . . 2] 42/3: Pagon 16*, Lambert 0*. Kantasingh strays short the last ball and Pagon collects a couple through backward point.
11ov [1 . W . . .] 40/3: Pagon 14*, Lambert 0*. McClean cleans up the nightwatchman to give CCC an early lift, then goes past Lambert's outside edge with a nice outswinger.
New batsman: Tamar Lambert, the Jamaican skipper.
McClean and CCC strike in the day's second over as Richardson chases one outside the off stump and gets a flying edge to the solitary slip where captain Floyd Reifer goes up over his head to haul in a fine two-handed catch.
WICKET: A Richardson c Reifer b McClean 9. 40/3.
Pacer Kevin McClean, who got Brenton Parchment out yesterday, will begin from the Pavilion End, with Donovan Pagon in strike.
10ov [. 2 . . . .] 39/2: Pagon 13*, Richardson 9*. Left-hander Richardson gathers two off a healthy outside edge past slip.
Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh, who claimed Danza Hyatt yesterday evening, will begin from the Media Centre End. Nightwatchman Andrew Richardson will face.
Umpires Davteerth Anandjit and Gazi Sohel head out to the middle, pink ball in Anandjit's hand, as we get ready for play.
CCC 161 (Kjorn Ottley 44, Kyle Corbin 34, Kevin McClean 24 not out; Odean Brown 8/54, Tamar Lambert 2/21).
JAMAICA 202 (Donovan Pagon 80, Danza Hyatt 67; Ryan Austin 5/59, Kavesh Kantasingh 4/45) and 37/2.
Here's a quick recap of the scores so far:
Jamaica, on the back of leg-spinner Odean Brown's haul of 8/54, have taken a firm grip on the match even though CCC claimed two wickets late yesterday evening.
Welcome to Day 3 of the WICB four-day clash between competition leaders Jamaica and third-placed Combined Campuses & Colleges. It's another sunny day with a few more clouds around but they are cotton-wool white and fluffy and don't threaten rain.
STUMPS, DAY 2: Jamaica 202 & 37/2. CCC 161. Leg-spinner Odean Brown's career-best 8/54 vaulted Jamaica into the ascendancy but CCC scalped two cheaply before the close. The tournament leaders are still 78 runs to the good and are still the favoured team here but we might have some more twists and turns over the next two days.
9ov [2 2 . 4 . .] 37/2: Pagon 13*, Richardson 7*. A controversial end to the day as McClean celebrates the dismissal of Pagon, caught off the glove at gully by Corbin. But Pagon is not happy and as he passes the Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohel, he shows him what appears to be a bruise where the ball hit him on the forearm and the official reverses the decision, much to the disgust of CCC skipper Floyd Reifer. If there was evidence to show he was not out, that was a correct move, and a very brave action by Sohel.
One over left in a day on which batsmen didn't cover themselves in glory.
8ov [2 . . . . .] 29/2: Pagon 5*, Richardson 7*. Kantasingh cannot break through with his final over.
7ov [. . 1 nb 1 . .] 27/2: Pagon 5*, Richardson 5*. McClean works up a good head of steam and Richardson fends uncomfortably.
6ov [. W . . . 4] 24/2: Pagon 4*, Richardson 4*. Kantasingh strikes and has a few appeals against Richardson, who finally decides defense is not the best option and lashes a boundary straight back over the bowler.
Hyatt tries to work on the leg side but closes the face too early and chips a catch back to the bowler off the leading edge. CCC trying to work their way back into contention. New batsman: Andrew Richardson, the nightwatchman.
WICKET: D Hyatt c and b Kantasingh 7. 20/2.
5ov [. W . . 4 .] 20/1: Hyatt 7*, Pagon 4*. After McClean claims Parchment, Pagon strokes a sweetly-timed on-drive off the back foot through wide mid-on to get going.
Another failure for Parchment as he slashes at McClean off the back foot and snicks to the wicket-keeper. Good bounce and carry on a pitch that has been fairly placid. New batsman: Donovan Pagon, who topscored with 80 in the first dig.
WICKET: B Parchment c wk Walton b McClean 3. 16/1.
4ov [4b . . . . 4] 16/0: Parchment 3*, Hyatt 7*. Jamaica march on against Kantasingh as one slips down leg for a boundary of byes then Hyatt lashes over midwicket.

72ov [4 1 . . . .] 157/9: McClean 22*, Catlin 0*. Odean Brown cannot get his eighth wicket as McClean sweeps very fine for a rare boundary.
Odean Brown's haul is the fifth seven-wicket bag this season after Kemar Roach (7/23), Nikita Miller (7/28), Ryan Austin (7/42) and Imran Khan (7/71).
71ov [. . 2 . 1 .] 152/9: McClean 17*, Catlin 0*. CCC limp past 150 and Lambert leaves Odean Brown with chance to get eight.
70ov [. 1 W . . W] 149/9: McClean 14*, Catlin 0*. Two wickets in the over for the rampant Odean Brown. New batsman is the last man, Khismar Catlin. Jamaica really well on top now and sensing a healthy first innings leads.
Seven-up!!! Magnificent spell from Odean Brown, who now has a career-best. Kantasingh somehow misses a ball of no particular merit. He goes on the back foot, misses by a long way and is bowled. Brown now has 26-9-48-7.
WICKET: K Kantasingh b O Brown 0. 149/9.
A sixth scalp for Odean Brown as Wallace comes too far inside his stumps trying to work through the leg side off the back foot. He's hit in front and Gazi Sohel, the Bangladesh umpire, starts Jamaican celebrations with an obvious decision. New batsman: Kavesh Kantasingh.

65ov [. . . . . .] 143/7: McClean 10*, Wallace 0*. Lambert keeps the pressure on with a maiden to McClean.
64ov [. 1 . . W .] 143/7: McClean 10*, Wallace 0*. Odean Brown, in his 33rd match, claims five wickets in first-class cricket for the eighth time. New batsman: Gavin Wallace.

The skies begin to darken ... don't worry, there's no rain about, it's just that it's sunset time here ... as we get set for this final session under lights. Bowling figures: Richardson 6-1-19-0, Bernard 7-2-24-0, Dawes 4-1-8-0, B Brown 15-5-28-0, O Brown 19-7-34-4, Lambert 3-0-5-1.
TEA, DAY 2: Jamaica 202. CCC 122/5. Leg-spinner Odean Brown (4/34) turned the match around in that session as CCC, nicely poised at 48/0 at lunch, skidded badly against the tournament leaders.
54ov [. . . . . .] 122/5: Walton 6*, McClean 2*. Odean Brown takes us to tea with a maiden which Walton defends resolutely. There were some verbals between the Jamaican fielders and their countryman Walton but Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohel snuffed that out swiftly. Good umpiring.
53ov [. 1 1 . . .] 122/5: Walton 6*, McClean 2*. A lot of repair work to be done by these two. Lambert remains miserly.
52ov [. . . W 1 4] 120/5: Walton 5*, McClean 1*. CCC dip badly as Odean Brown strikes again. Left-hander McClean gets off the mark first ball and then Walton sweeps for four, thanks to some misfielding on the boundary by Jason Dawes.

50ov [. 1 . 1 . 4] 113/3: Ottley 44*, Reifer 10*. An early scare for Ottley as he is beaten first ball, but he finishes the Odean Brown over with a fluent off drive that races wide of mid-off for four.
49ov [1 . 1 . . 1lb] 107/3: Ottley 39*, Reifer 9*. One optimistic LBW shout as Reifer stretched far forward and missed a forward defensive but little else for Lambert to shout about.
Bowling change: David Bernard, who was ineffective in his three-over spell, is replaced by skipper Tamar Lambert, who will bowl his off-spin from the Pavilion End.
48ov [1 . . 1 1 .] 104/3: Ottley 38*, Reifer 8*. More comfortable turning over of the strike by the two left-hander as Odean Brown begins to drop in a few more bad deliveries. After 16-6-23-3, he may be tiring slightly.
47ov [1nb 2 1 . . 1 .] 101/3: Ottley 36*, Reifer 7*. Bernard not looking too penetrative as the hundred arrives and the unbroken stand grows to 36.
The floodlights have been turned on as dusk closes in at Providence. Remember, this is the third of four day/night matches this 2010 regional season. The first two were held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Kensington Oval in Barbados while the final one is in Round 7, at the Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia.
46ov [. . 1 . . .] 95/3: Ottley 34*, Reifer 4*. Ottley maybe becoming a little careless here. Odean Brown is around the wicket and the left-hander edges a cut first ball but the thick deflection cannons off wicket-keeper Baugh's pad. No chance of a catch but more encouragement for the three-wicket leg-spinner.
45ov [. . . . nb . 1] 94/3: Ottley 33*, Reifer 4*. Bernard has a loud appeal against Ottley turned down. Possibly sliding down leg or even a hint of a nick. Umpire Anandjit says not out.
Leg-spinner Odean Brown's figures are: 14-6-19-3. He has been immaculate and his reward was the scalps of Kyle Corbin (bowled for 34), Omar Phillips (caught and bowled for 12) and Jamal Smith (caught behind for 4).
44ov [. . . . 1 1] 92/3: Ottley 32*, Reifer 4*. Odean Brown continues to be probing. Reifer on-drives for a single then Ottley just manages to adjust to the googly and steers just wide of slip for one.
43ov [. 1nb . . 1b . 4] 90/3: Ottley 31*, Reifer 3*. Expensive start from Bernard, whose last ball is on a good length but Ottley still caresses an exquisite drive to the point boundary. This 20-year-old has a touch of class about him.
Bowling change: David Bernard replaces Bevon Brown (15-5-28-0) from the Pavilion End.
42ov [. . . 1 . 1] 83/3: Ottley 26*, Reifer 3*. An off-side single apiece for the two left-handers off Odean Brown.
This is a crucial partnership for CCC. They have a long tail, with only wicket-keeper Chadwick Walton to follow before the bowlers - Kevin McClean, Ryan Austin, Gavin Wallace, Kavesh Kantasingh and Khismar Catlin.
41ov [. . 1 . . .] 81/3: Ottley 25*, Reifer 2*. Drinks arrive after another accurate Bevon Brown six-pack.
40ov [. 4 . 4 . .] 80/3: Ottley 25*, Reifer 1*. Two magnificent strokes register boundaries for Ottley off Odean Brown. He square drives the first through cover point then, with an extra man placed in the off side, still finds the gap with a scintillating extra cover drive. Nice, decisive footwork and brilliant execution.
38ov [. 2 . . . 1] 72/3: Ottley 17*, Reifer 1*. The couple times Bevon Brown is too short, Ottley scores, rocking back and carving backward of point for two before punching wide of extra cover for a single.
38ov [. . 1 . . .] 69/3: Ottley 14*, Reifer 1*. Little respite as Odean Brown's leg spin continues to be right on the spot.
37ov [. . . . . .] 68/3: Ottley 13*, Reifer 1*. Reifer looks comfortable enough against Bevon Brown.
36ov [1 . 1 . . .] 68/3: Ottley 13*, Reifer 1*. These two left-handers have a lot of work to do. Odean Brown remains in control.
35ov [. . . . 1 .] 66/3: Ottley 12*, Reifer 0*. Bevon Brown supporting his spin mate well but cannot claim his first scalp.
34ov [. . . . . W] 65/3: Ottley 11*, Reifer 0*. Odean Brown and Jamaica on top at the moment as captain Floyd Reifer strides out.
Smith never looked the part and gets a flatter, quicker one which he follows and feathers through for a catch to the wicket-keeper. Odean Brown is wrecking the CCC reply here. He has all three wickets and is bowling magnificently.
WICKET: J Smith c wk Baugh b O Brown 4. 65/3.
33ov [. . . 4 . .] 65/2: Smith 4*, Ottley 11*. It's Bevon Brown's turn to have a couple loud appeals turned down against Ottley, who powers another sweep to the fence in between those appeals.
32ov [. . 2 . . .] 61/2: Smith 4*, Ottley 7*. More appeals than a convicted murderer. Smith survives another confident query by Odean Brown and Jamaica and tickles one for a couple.
31ov [. . . . . .] 59/2: Smith 2*, Ottley 7*. Bevon Brown keeps Ottley in check with a tidy maiden.
30ov [. . . . . .] 59/2: Smith 2*, Ottley 7*. Smith is less certain against Odean Brown and has another LBW shout turned down when he tries to swing over the leg side final ball. That was pitched outside leg so no trouble this time as Smith nervously tries to settle.
29ov [. . 2 . 4 .] 59/2: Smith 2*, Ottley 7*. Ottley gives off positive vibes at the crease. He collects two off the bottom/outside edge to third man before sweeping Bevon Brown powerfully and all along the ground for a boundary.
28ov [. 1 . . . .] 53/2: Smith 2*, Ottley 1*. Left-hander Ottley gets off the mark as he pushes forward and eases Odean Brown fine on the leg side.
27ov [. . . . . .] 52/2: Smith 2*, Ottley 0*. Smith lunges forward against Bevon Brown and has a couple of LBW shouts against him. He's living dangerously here.
26ov [. 1 . . . W] 52/2: Smith 2*, Ottley 0*. Two new batsmen in for CCC now. Left-hander Kjorn Ottley, fresh off a match-winning 66 in the last match against Guyana, joins Smith.
Two wickets in two overs for Odean Brown and Jamaica are right back in it. Phillips goes back and tries to force a googly into the off side. He only manages to chip a low catch back to the bowler, who gratefully accepts.
WICKET: O Phillips c and b O Brown 12. 52/2.
25ov [. . 1 . . 1] 51/1: Phillips 12*, Smith 1*. Nervous moments for the pair as Bevon Brown is accurate. Phillips punches through the off side for one then Smith steers an arm ball past slip to get going.
24ov [. . W . . .] 49/1: Phillips 11*, Smith 0*. Great start to the session by Jamaica as Odean Brown's leg-break turns across Corbin and bowls him. The lanky Smith uses his long reach to smother the first three balls he receives.
New batsman: Jamal Smith, a six foot, three inch right-hander who wears glasses.
Fine delivery. Corbin is a bit leaden-footed with his forward prod and a leg-break rips past the outside edge and cannons into the top of off stump. Welcome breakthrough for Jamaica right after the restart.
WICKET: K Corbin b O Brown 34. 49/1.
All-spin, as the two Browns continue after the break. Leg-spinner Odean is on at the Media Centre End.
23ov [. . . . 1 .] 49/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 34*. The off-spinner seems to be bowling quite a lot of drifters and Corbin steers one away past slip to get going again.
Still bright and sunny after the interval. Bevon Brown, with his off-spin, will resume to Kyle Corbin.
Bowling figures: Richardson 6-1-19-0 (nb1), Bernard 4-2-10-0 (nb2), Dawes 4-1-8-0, B Brown 5-2-10-0, O Brown 3-3-0-0.
LUNCH, DAY 2: Jamaica 202. CCC 48/0. The CCC openers have mounted a solid platform after their left-arm spinner Kantasingh (4/45) finished off the Jamaican innings early this morning. Jamaica, overnight 195/9, were all out for 202 and Kyle Corbin (33 not out) has dominated CCC's sound response. Left-hander Omar Phillips (11 not out) is content to be patient. CCC hold the edge against the tournament leaders.
22ov [. . . . . .] 48/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 33*. Odean Brown takes us to lunch with a maiden to Phillips.
21ov [. 4 . . . .] 48/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 33*. A fine over from Bevon Brown. Corbin is beaten first up, then slices a drive uncertainly for a boundary to third man. He is tentative for the rest of the over as the bowler hits some good lengths.
20ov [. . . . . .] 44/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 29*. No chances being taken by Phillips against Odean Brown with lunch in his sights. A loud LBW appeal last ball is turned down by Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohel. Phillips was well forward.
19ov [. . . . . .] 44/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 29*. Bevon Brown matches his spinning namesake with a maiden of his own, to Corbin.
18ov [. . . . . .] 44/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 29*. A steady start from Odean Brown, until a last ball full toss but the becalmed Phillips cannot put it away.
Bowling change: Leg-spinner Odean Brown replaces Jason Dawes (4-1-8-0) from the Media Centre End with 12 minutes to lunch. It sounds odd saying lunch and it's mid-afternoon.
17ov [1 . . 4 . .] 44/0: Phillips 11*, Corbin 29*. The teenaged right-hander adds another four, this time piercing the off side ring off Brown.
16ov [. 1 . . 4 .] 39/0: Phillips 10*, Corbin 25*. First boundary for seven overs as Corbin slashes at Dawes and it flies away through gully where Brenton Parchment leaps high but has no chance of pulling that in. It went as quickly as one of those Maxi Taxis that race along the highway here near the Stadium.
15ov [. . . . . .] 34/0: Phillips 9*, Corbin 21*. Corbin mainly defensive against Brown's tight line.
14ov [1 . . 1 . .] 34/0: Phillips 9*, Corbin 21*. Dawes still working hard and bowling with good pace and accuracy but the pitch is really excellent for batting and these two won't want to waste good starts.
13ov [. . . . . 1] 32/0: Phillips 8*, Corbin 20*. Phillips, yet to really get going, scampers a single into extra cover.
Brown, at 30, is the oldest member of this Jamaican team. The two other over-30s, Wavell Hinds and Brendan Nash, are with the Windies in Australia.
Bowling change: Bevon Brown, the seasoned off-spinner in his first game this season, replaces Andrew Richardson (6-1-19-0) from the Pavilion End.
12ov [. . . . . .] 31/0: Phillips 7*, Corbin 20*. Dawes continues to bowl well, hitting good areas. There is only one slip and a gully, evidence of a slow, but true pitch.
11ov [. . 1 . nb 1 1] 31/0: Phillips 7*, Corbin 20*. Richardson still in the attack, for his sixth over, but cannot penetrate.
DRINKS, SESSION 1, DAY 2: Jamaica 202 all out. CCC 27/0. CCC wrapped up Jamaica's innings inside 10 minutes when Kantasingh claimed Richardson LBW and are now posting a positive reply through the left-right combination of Phillips and Corbin.
10ov [. . 1 . . .] 27/0: Phillips 6*, Corbin 18*. A encouraging start from the pacer, who creates some rare discomfort for both batsmen.
Dawes will start his spell to Corbin. Both of them, along with Nkrumah Bonner from this match, were part of the West Indies under-19 team to the 2008 Youth World Cup in Malaysia.
Bowling change: Before spin, we will see Jason Dawes, the former West Indies under-19 pacer. He is into the attack from the Media Centre End instead of Bernard (4-2-10-0).
9ov [. . . . . .] 26/0: Phillips 6*, Corbin 17*. Tidy enough maiden from Richardson but one suspects that spin is not too far away.
8ov [. 4 . . 1 .] 26/0: Phillips 6*, Corbin 17*. A fine cover drive by Phillips races to the ropes. With CCC coasting, Corbin almost commits suicide when he nudges the last ball into the leg side and seeks a non-existent single. He is lazy getting back and would probably have been run out had Bevon Brown's rocket throw hit direct.
7ov [. . . . 1 1lb] 21/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 17*. No worries for these two against Richardson.
6ov [. . . . . .] 19/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 16*. Left-hander Phillips gets a full over from Bernard but is content to be watchful.
5ov [. 4 4 . . .] 19/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 16*. The strike, and the scoring, is being monopolized by Corbin but Phillips won't mind watching strokes like those. The silky right-hander, still only 19, plays an exquisite straight drive off the front foot and follows with an equally eye-pleasing punch off the back foot. The bowler Richardson is stunned.
All the Jamaicans, bar the bowler, have on their forest green national caps, which bear the coat of arms of Jamaica, with the words: Out of Many, One People. The original coat of arms dates back to 1661 for you history buffs.
4ov [nb . . . nb 2 1 .] 11/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 8*. CCC sound as Bernard oversteps twice and Corbin clips through square leg for a double.
3ov [. . . . . 1] 6/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 5*. This pitch is still lifeless and Richardson cannot cause much discomfort for Corbin, who clips to fine leg for a last ball single.
2ov [. . . . . .] 5/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 4*. A maiden from Bernard to Phillips but a bit wayward.
All-rounder David Bernard Jr. gets to share the pink berry with Richardson, not the 21-year-old Dawes, in only his second first-class match and first this season.
1ov [. 1 . 2 . 2] 5/0: Phillips 1*, Corbin 4*. Both batsmen under way. Phillips stops one into the off side for a single while Corbin, a really stylish right-hander, punches through the off side for a couple and then on-drives for the same result.
Striving for wickets now will be Andrew Richardson, the strapping Jamaican pacer who earned West Indies senior recognition last May when he was chosen for the tour of England. He will operate from the Pavilion End and Omar Phillips, the left-hander, will face. Kyle Corbin is the non-striker.
Austin now has 26 wickets for the season, second only to Trinidad & Tobago's leg-spinner Imran Khan, who has 29. Kantasingh has 20 now, for joint fourth spot behind Khan, Austin and Jamaica's Nikita Miller (22).
Bowling figures: McClean 6-1-21-1 (nb2), Catlin 8-1-35-0 (w1), Kantasingh 35-13-45-4, Austin 38-12-59-5, Wallace 10-1-40-0.
CCC will need to bat better than they have so far this season to consolidate the advantage their bowlers have given them. Their team totals this season: 234 & 148/5 dec. (v T&T), 213 & 187 (v Barbados), 158 & 198 (v Windwards) and 239 & 195/5 (v Guyana).
So CCC complete a stunning fightback. They claimed the last nine Jamaica wickets for just 51 runs with Austin (5/59) and Kantasingh (4/45) the stars. The Jamaican middle and lower order, missing the services of Wavell Hinds and Brendan Nash, faltered badly.
97ov [. 1 . . . W] 202 all out. Dawes 1*. Kantasingh grabs his fourth wicket as he is accurate and traps a leaden-footed Richardson on the crease. Easy decision for Anandjit.
WICKET: A Richardson lbw b Kantasingh 6. 202 all out.
96ov [. . . 6 . .] 201/9: Richardson 6*, Dawes 0*. Left-hander Richardson lofts Austin convincingly over mid-off and that clears the ropes. Jamaica raise 200 although the score is still a disappointment after being 151/1.
95ov [. . . . . .] 195/9: Richardson 0*, Dawes 0*. Maiden to start. Austin's turn.
Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh will begin from the Pavilion End, and Jason Dawes, the former West Indies Under-19 pacer, will be in strike. "Play", shouts umpire Anandjit.
Umpires Davteerth Anandjit and Gazi Sohel shake hands as they head out to the middle. There are no spectators, none, at the Providence ground. I imagine the weekend crowd at Albion will be a large one, especially with Guyana, and Chanderpaul, set to bat.
DAY 2: On another sunny and hot day, Jamaica resume their first innings on 195/9. Tailenders Andrew Richardson and Jason Dawes are the unbeaten batsmen, both yet to score. Off-spinner Ryan Austin, who took 5/53 yesterday to take his season tally to 26 wickets, will be looking for a six-wicket haul to follow his career-best 7/42 in the last match in which he had a match haul of 10/118 against Guyana. Kavesh Kantasingh will probably start proceedings trying for his fourth scalp.
I don't think it had anything to do with the floodlights but once the sun set, Jamaica's innings went the same way, dipping atrociously. Austin and Kantasingh bowled well but the pitch held no terrors. Join us tomorrow from 1 p.m. to follow the action and see if CCC can finish off the Jamaicans swiftly and mount a strong reply.
Bowling figures: McClean 6-1-21-1 (nb2), Catlin 8-1-35-0 (w1), Kantasingh 33-12-44-3, Austin 37-12-53-5 (nb2), Wallace 10-1-40-0.
STUMPS, DAY 1: Jamaica 195/9. What a phenomenal collapse by the tournament leaders, who were coasting at 151 for one when Danza Hyatt and Donovan Pagon were sharing a second wicket stand of 136. But once Hyatt fell for 67 and Pagon departed for 80, the lower order subsided as Ryan Austin (37-12-53-5) and Kavesh Kantasingh (33-12-44-3) ripped them apart as eight wickets tumbled for 44 runs.

94ov [. . nb . . . .] 195/9: Richardson 0*, Dawes 0*. Austin cannot finish the leaders off.
93ov [. . W . . .] 194/9: Richardson 0*, Dawes 0*. Wicket maiden for Kantasingh (33-12-44-3).
Kantasingh strikes and Jamaica are on the rack. Odean Brown goes back fatally and one skids through to hit off stump low down.
WICKET: O Brown b Kantasingh 0. 194/9.
92ov [. . W . nb . .] 194/8: Richardson 0*, O Brown 0*. Another five-for for Austin, who claimed 10-118 in the CCC's last match victory over Guyana.
Brown holes out to deep midwicket and Jamaica are in deep strife now. A five-wicket haul for Austin, who has bowled with beautiful control.
WICKET: B Brown c Wallace b Austin 1. 193/8.
91ov [. . . . . .] 193/7: B Brown 1*, Richardson 0*. Kantasingh keeps it tight.
90ov [. . . . . .] 193/7: B Brown 1*, Richardson 0*. CCC well on top now and Austin sends down an over pregnant with appeals. But no further success, yet.
89ov [. 1 1 W . .] 193/7: Brown 1*, Richardson 0*. Kantasingh strikes as the in-form Baugh perishes to an aggressive stroke.
Baugh swings across the line and the ball turns past the bat to rattle the stumps and Jamaica are in terminal decline. Kantasingh grabs his second wicket.
WICKET: C Baugh b Kantasingh 18. 193/7.
88ov [. . . W . .] 191/6: Baugh 17*, B Brown 0*. Austin really on top form (34-11-51-4).
Austin continues to make Jamaica slide as Bernard prods uncertainly forward and silly point snaps up an easy catch.
WICKET: D Bernard c Ottley b Austin 3. 191/6.
Some confusion over the pink ball here. Reserve umpire Nigel Duguid brought out a box of balls and the standing umps seem to have chosen a new ball but CCC captain Floyd Reifer doesn't want the second new ball yet. So Duguid comes back out and it looks like they have replaced the ball with another used one.
87ov [. . . . 1 1] 191/5: Baugh 17*, Bernard 3*.
86ov [2 . . . . 1] 189/5: Baugh 16*, Bernard 2*. Baugh continues to progress against Austin's testing varieties.
85ov [. . . . . .] 186/5: Baugh 13*, Bernard 2*. It is pretty much all defensive from Bernard at the moment. Maybe Baugh will liven up proceedings.
84ov [. . . . 1 .] 186/5: Baugh 13*, Bernard 2*. The two Bs stay in their shells as the rebuilding process continues against Austin.
83ov [. . . . . 1] 185/5: Baugh 13*, Bernard 1*. A very cautious Bernard gets off the mark with a nudge on the leg side off Kantasingh.
82ov [. . . 4 4 .] 184/5: Baugh 13*, Bernard 0*. The diminutive wicket-keeper shakes up Austin's rhythm with two strong sweeps for boundaries.
81ov [. . . 1 . .] 176/5: Baugh 5*, Bernard 0*. The pressure kept on by Kantasingh.
80ov [. . . 1 W .] 175/5: Baugh 4*, Bernard 0*. CCC on a roll but these two are experienced and have international experience. Jamaica need a stand from them.
New batsman: David Bernard Jr.
Austin (28.5-10-39-3) creating a big skid here for Jamaica as Lambert prods forward and pops a catch to short leg. The tournament leaders have slipped from 151 for one just before tea to 175 for five at the drinks break in the final session.
WICKET: T Lambert c Phillips b Austin 10. 175/5.
79ov [. . . . . 1] 174/4: Lambert 10*, Baugh 3*. The CCC spinners are in a good groove.
78ov [. . 1 . 1 .] 173/4: Lambert 10*, Baugh 2*. A couple nudges for singles off the probing Austin.
77ov [. . . 1 . .] 171/4: Lambert 9*, Baugh 1*. More excitement for Kantasingh as Lambert blasts one of the back foot through the hands of Jamal Smith at short extra cover. That was probably a dropped catch judging from the reaction of the CCC.
76ov [1 W . 1 . 1] 170/4: Lambert 8*, Baugh 1*. Another strike from Austin (28-10-36-2) as CCC seize the momentum.
New batsman: Carlton Baugh Jr.
Jamaica slumping here as Bonner misses his forward defensive and Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohel rules him out LBW. On a slow, low pitch, it is not a good idea to get hit on the pad. The 21-year-old on debut is gone for a six-ball duck.
WICKET: N Bonner lbw b Austin 0. 168/4.
75ov [W . . . . .] 167/3: Lambert 6*, Bonner 0*. Kantasingh strangles Pagon with a leg side catch to Walton. Newcomer Bonner is watchful for the next five deliveries.
New batsman: Nkrumah Bonner, on his first-class debut.
Kantasingh makes another breakthrough as Pagon, in sight of a century, tickles at one down the leg side and feathers a catch to the wicket-keeper. Good innings from Pagon (10x4s, 205 balls).
WICKET: D Pagon c wk Walton b Kantasingh 80. 167/3.
74ov [. . 1 . 4 1] 167/2: Pagon 80*, Lambert 6*. An exquisite front foot cover drive by Pagon off Austin breaks the monotony.
73ov [. . . . 1 .] 161/2: Pagon 75*, Lambert 5*. The thick-set Lambert scampers a single off Kantasingh.
72ov [1 . . . . 1] 160/2: Pagon 75*, Lambert 4*. A couple off Austin as the score ticks along serenely.
71ov [. . . . . .] 158/2: Pagon 74*, Lambert 3*. Kantasingh also miserly with another maiden.
70ov [. . . . . .] 158/2: Pagon 74*, Lambert 3*. Austin really in a good groove here but cannot breach Pagon's broad bat.
69ov [. 1 . . . .] 158/2: Pagon 74*, Lambert 3*. Kantasingh holds a good line but no alarms there.
68ov [. . . 1lb . .] 157/2: Pagon 73*, Lambert 3*. Austin creates some anxiety for both batsmen as Pagon clips just short of midwicket, then Lambert prods close to short leg.
67ov [. 2 . . . .] 156/2: Pagon 73*, Lambert 3*.
66ov [1 . . . . .] 154/2: Pagon 73*, Lambert 1*. Tidy from Austin as Jamaica seek another stand.
65ov [. . 2 . . .] 153/2: Pagon 73*, Lambert 0*.
Ready for play after dark. The floodlights are shining in all their glory and Kantasingh will resume to Pagon.
TEA, DAY 1: Jamaica 151/2 off 64 overs. The Jamaicans are still on top despite Austin's late strike there. Hyatt (67) missed out when he looked to be in with a good chance of getting a maiden first-class century. Pagon (71 not out) is still there in sight of his fourth at this level.
64ov [W . . . . .] 151/2: Pagon 71*, Lambert 0*. Austin strikes in the last over before tea to end a partnership of 136 between Hyatt and Pagon.
New batsman: Tamar Lambert, the captain.
Austin has worked hard for that scalp and Hyatt falls playing back to a good length delivery that was a bit faster and breached his stroke. Bangladeshi umpire Gazi Sohel raises the finger. That looked out and on this slow, low pitch, the height will probably not have been an issue.
WICKET: D Hyatt lbw b Austin 67. 151/2.
63ov [. . . . . .] 151/1: Hyatt 67*, Pagon 71*. An over of forward defensive strokes from Pagon against Kantasingh.
62ov [. . . . . 1] 151/1: Hyatt 67*, Pagon 71*. The partnership continues to build and CCC, and Austin, do not look like they will find a away through.
61ov [. . . 1 1 1] 150/1: Hyatt 67*, Pagon 70*. Jamaica raise 150 as these two right-handers continue to press on diligently, without risk.
60ov [. . 1 . . 2] 147/1: Hyatt 66*, Pagon 68*. Jamaica get going again as Pagon clips Austin through midwicket and Hyatt nudges fine on the leg side for a couple.
59ov [. . . . . .] 144/1: Hyatt 64*, Pagon 67*. Kantasingh keeps Jamaica scoreless again. 20 balls now without a run.
58ov [. . . . . .] 144/1: Hyatt 64*, Pagon 67*. Austin adds another maiden to Pagon.
57ov [. . . . . .] 144/1: Hyatt 64*, Pagon 67*. Maiden from Kantasingh.
The lights are coming on now as the sun begins to set. This is the third of four day/night first-class matches this 2010 season.
56ov [. . . 1 . .] 144/1: Hyatt 64*, Pagon 67*. Another tidy Austin over but these two are in control.
55ov [. . . . . .] 143/1: Hyatt 63*, Pagon 67*. Maiden from Kantasingh.
54ov [. . . . . 2] 143/1: Hyatt 63*, Pagon 67*. Austin creates a chance but Hyatt's bat-pad prod drops just away from a diving Omar Phillips at short leg.
53ov [. . 1lb 4 1 .] 141/1: Hyatt 61*, Pagon 67*. Hyatt finally breaks loose and cracks a Kantasingh long hop for a boundary over midwicket.
52ov [. . . . . .] 135/1: Hyatt 56*, Pagon 67*. On target right away is Austin and Hyatt, who is not nearly as fluent as Pagon, sees out a maiden.
Bowling change: Austin back to spell Wallace.
51ov [. . 1 . . .] 135/1: Hyatt 56*, Pagon 67*. Accurate restart from Kantasingh.
Bowling change: Kantasingh replaces Austin.
50ov [. . . . 2 4] 134/1: Hyatt 55*, Pagon 67*. More sweet stroke-play from Pagon, who is really batting delightfully here. He caresses one square for a boundary off Wallace's last ball.
49ov [. . . . . 1] 128/1: Hyatt 55*, Pagon 61*. Austin remains miserly but batting is comfortable.
48ov [1 . . . . .] 127/1: Hyatt 55*, Pagon 60*. Wallace gets through another over without causing much bother.
Drinks break and Jamaica well on top.
47ov [. . . . . .] 126/1: Hyatt 55*, Pagon 59*. The off-spinner immediately offers CCC more encouragement than they have had since lunch as Hyatt is uncertain and a few inside edges give hope to short leg. But no breakthrough.
Bowling change: Austin spells Catlin.
46ov [4 1 . . 4 .] 126/1: Hyatt 55*, Pagon 59*. This pair coasting now. Hyatt and Pagon trade boundaries off Wallace. Hyatt tickles fine while Pagon, whose driving through the off side has been absolutely sublime, notches another through extra cover.
45ov [. . . 4 . 4] 117/1: Hyatt 50*, Pagon 55*. Pagon passes fifty with a flourish, twice leaning forward and driving Catlin sweetly through cover. The hundred partnership is also raised.
44ov [. . . 2 1 .] 109/1: Hyatt 50*, Pagon 47*. Wallace probes without any penetration.
43ov [. 1 . . . .] 106/1: Hyatt 50*, Pagon 44*. Catlin can't get any life out of this very dead pitch and Pagon now closes in on a fifty.
42ov [1 4 . 3 1 .] 105/1: Hyatt 50*, Pagon 43*. Hyatt powers to fifty, clubbing Wallace through wide mid-on off the back foot and then back overhead for a treble.
41ov [. . . . . 1] 96/1: Hyatt 43*, Pagon 41*. Good line from Catlin but Pagon scampers a single off the last ball.
40ov [. . . . . .] 95/1: Hyatt 43*, Pagon 40*. Wallace beginning to find a good rhythm.
39ov [. 4 . . . .] 95/1: Hyatt 43*, Pagon 40. A typically elegant cover drive by Pagon for a boundary off Catlin. Sizzled across this lush green outfield.
Bowling change: Khismar Catlin replaces Ryan Austin at the Pavilion End.
38ov [2 . 1 1 . .] 91/1: Hyatt 43*, Pagon 36*. These two just finding the gaps easily against Wallace.
37ov [. . 2 . . .] 87/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 35*. Another couple for Pagon through the covers off Austin. He has scored all 12 runs in five overs since the break. Hyatt yet to add.
36ov [. 2 . 2 . 1] 85/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 33*. Pagon ticking his total over nicely against Wallace.
35ov [. 1 . . . .] 80/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 28*. Austin again tidy.
34ov [1 . . . . .] 79/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 27*. Wallace starts from the Media Centre End without posing much threat.
33ov [. . . 2 . 1] 78/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 26*. Pagon gets going comfortably after the break against Austin.
Ryan Austin will continue from the Pavilion End, and Pagon will face first.
A cloudless sky greets us after lunch as umpires Anandjit and Sohel head out with the CCC team in their wake. Hyatt and Pagon will be keen to continue to lay the foundations for a formidable first innings for Jamaica.
Bowling to date: McClean 6-1-21-1 (nb2), Catlin 4-1-21-0 (w1), Kantasingh 11-3-20-0, Austin 10-5-11-0, Wallace 1-0-2-0.
LUNCH, DAY 1: Jamaica 75/1. The tournament leaders will be satisfied with the first session. After winning the toss, they rode the early loss of Brenton Parchment (LBW to Kevin McClean for 9) to forge a platform. Danza Hyatt (40* - 5x4s, 116 balls) and Donovan Pagon (23* - 4x4s, 66 balls) have added 58 unbroken for the second wicket. Austin has looked the most threatening of the CCC spinners but it has been hard work on a placid pitch.
37ov [. . 2 . . .] 87/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 35*.

Austin has looked the most threatening of the CCC spinners but it has been hard work on a placid pitch.
32ov [2 . . . . .] 75/1: Hyatt 40*, Pagon 23*. A bit too short first up from Wallace and Jamaica are in command at the break.
Bowling change: Leg-spinner Gavin Wallace gets one over before the break against his fellow Jamaicans. He replaces Kantasingh from the Media Centre End.
31ov [. . . . . .] 73/1: Hyatt 38*, Pagon 23*. No prizes for guessing it was another Austin maiden. Jamaica have not scored now for 18 deliveries.
30ov [. . . . . .] 73/1: Hyatt 38*, Pagon 23*. Hyatt's turn to play out a maiden - from Kantasingh. These two spinners have sped through the overs. 30 gone already and still eight minutes to lunch.
29ov [. . . . . .] 73/1: Hyatt 38*, Pagon 23*. Pagon, who hasn't had much strike lately, plays out an Austin maiden but is beaten by a straighter one fifth ball, drawing a half-hearted appeal from bowler and slip.
28ov [. . . . . 4] 73/1: Hyatt 38*, Pagon 23*. Jamaica doing it comfortably here as Hyatt takes advantage of Kantasingh's wide half volley which he belts through extra cover for four.
27ov [. . . . . 1] 69/1: Hyatt 34*, Pagon 23*. Hyatt watchful against Austin and ticks another run over with a firm straight drive.
26ov [. . . . 1 .] 68/1: Hyatt 33*, Pagon 23*. Kantasingh beats Pagon off the final delivery but it's hard work for the bowlers on this featherbed.
25ov [. . . . . 1] 67/1: Hyatt 32*, Pagon 23*. Austin cannot break through.
24ov [. . . . 1 .] 66/1: Hyatt 31*, Pagon 23*. Kantasingh creating few threats.
23ov [. 1 . . 1 4] 65/1: Hyatt 30*, Pagon 23*. Fifty stand between these two comes up with a sumptuous cover drive by Pagon off Austin that is all timing.
22ov [. . 1 2 . .] 59/1: Hyatt 29*, Pagon 18*. Kantasingh posing little threat with his darts.
21ov [. . . . . .] 56/1: Hyatt 27*, Pagon 17*. Austin testing the batsmen's patience here with good variety. Hyatt gets a flatter full toss but cannot put it away.
20ov [. . . 4 . .] 56/1: Hyatt 27*, Pagon 17*. An elegant boundary from Pagon, who leans forward and waits late to stroke a drive sweetly through fine backward point off Kantasingh.
19ov [1 . . 1 . .] 52/1: Hyatt 27*, Pagon 13*. Batting looking comfortable now and no joy for Austin.
18ov [. . . . . 1] 50/1: Hyatt 26*, Pagon 12*. The only anxious moments come through running uncertainty but the pair raise Jamaica's half century off Kantasingh.
17ov [. . . . 1 .] 49/1: Hyatt 25*, Pagon 12*. Austin trying hard but Jamaica close in on fifty.
16ov [. . . . . .] 48/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 12*. Kantasingh tight now against Pagon, who is saved by an inside edge fifth ball or LBW was a definite prospect.
15ov [. . . . . .] 48/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 12*. Austin yet to concede as his control is immaculate. A few uncertain moments for Hyatt.
14ov [2 . . . . .] 48/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 12*. Pagon untroubled against Kantasingh.
Bowling to date: McClean 6-1-21-1, Catlin 4-1-21-0, Kantasingh 2-1-4-0, Austin 1-1-0-0.
Drinks: Jamaica, who won the toss, are 46/1. They lost Brenton Parchment, lbw to McClean for 9,but these two are looking comfortable on an easy-paced surface.
13ov [. . . . . .] 46/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 10*. Maiden from Austin. There is very little pace in this pitch and even the spinners may get frustrated.
Bowling change: Off-spinner Ryan Austin, fresh off a ten-wicket match haul in the last match against Guyana, replaces Kevin McClean from the Pavilion End.
12ov [. . 4 . . .] 46/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 10*. Kantasingh strays short and Pagon punishes him by cracking him sweetly through over off the back foot.
11ov [. . . . . 1] 42/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 6*. McClean right on target but little to encourage him.
10ov [. . . . . .] 41/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 5*. Maiden to start from the flat Kantasingh. The only alarm comes when Hyatt pads up and the ball doesn't spin but just misses off stump.
Bowling change: Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh replaces Khismar Catlin from the Media Centre End.
9ov [4 nb . . . . .] 41/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 5*. Pagon gets his first boundary, leaning back and caressing McClean backward of point.
8ov [2 . 2 wd 4 . .] 36/1: Hyatt 24*, Pagon 1*. Another productive over for Jamaica, and Hyatt, who works Catlin for a couple couples and then belts a sweet on-drive through midwicket for four.
7ov [1 . 4 2 . 1] 27/1: Hyatt 16*, Pagon 1*. A healthy over for Jamaica as Hyatt clips McClean uppishly through square leg for four. The ball goes backward, while Austin was forward.
6ov [. . . 4 . .] 19/1: Hyatt 9*, Pagon 0*. Hyatt gathers a boundary through vacant third man as he drives at Catlin and gets a meaty edge. Not fully in control but a four nonetheless.
Jamaica's openers have struggled this season: They have used Parchment, Xavier Marshall, Shawn Findlay and Hyatt so far and their partnerships for the first wicket have been 8, 2, 23, 3, 35 and now 15.
5ov [. W . . . .] 15/1: Hyatt 5*, Pagon 0*. McClean strikes with a nice wicket-to-wicket line and bags a wicket maiden.
New batsman: Donovan Pagon.
Parchment, on the forward defense, seems to play outside of that one and is struck in front. Umpire Anandjit has no hesitation and CCC have struck. No question of the ball going over!
WICKET: B Parchment lbw b McClean 9. 15/1.
4ov [. . . . . .] 15/0: Parchment 9*, Hyatt 5*. A nicely-controlled maiden from Catlin to Hyatt but there really is nothing for the quickies on this track.
3ov [4 . . 1 . .] 15/0: Parchment 9*, Hyatt 5*. The stocky Hyatt gets going by belting McClean over straight mid-off for a boundary. The bowler has an optimistic appeal for LBW against Parchment turned down later in the over.
2ov [. 4 4 . . .] 10/0: Parchment 9*, Hyatt 0*. Two delightful off side boundaries for Parchment, who first leans forward to stroke through the covers, then rocks back and late cuts to the vacant third man.
Khismar Catlin will share the new pink berry with McClean.
1ov [nb 1 . . . . .] 2/0: Parchment 1*, Hyatt 0*. McClean's first over reveals a pitch seriously lacking pace and bounce. Walton gathers the first couple on the first hop and Reifer sends his third slip out.
Kevin McClean will begin from the Pavilion End ... don't forget, he has a shiny, new pink ball in his hands - this is the third of the four experimental day/night matches this season. Parchment will face the first ball.
The Jamaican openers are right-handers Brenton Parchment and Danza Hyatt, both sporting the forest green helmets of their country.
The other officials are Nigel Duguid (reserve umpire) and Omar Bacchus (match referee).
The umpires, local Davteerth Anandjit and Gazi Sohel, the Bangladeshi here on the umpire exchange programme, stride out to the middle in beautiful conditions, closely followed by Floyd Reifer and his CCC troops.
Smith, the tall right-hander gets his first game of the season while leg-spinner Wallace returns to make it a three-pronged spin attack alongside Austin (off) and Kantasingh (left-arm).
CCC XI: Omar Phillips, Kyle Corbin, Jamal Smith, Kjorn Ottley, Floyd Reifer (c), Chadwick Walton (wk), Kevin McClean, Ryan Austin, Gavin Wallace, Kavesh Kantasingh, Khismar Catlin.
Jamaica left out Shawn Findlay and Andre Russell from their 13-man squad and have given a first-class debut to batsman Nkrumah Bonner, the former West Indies under-19 right-hander who turned 21 three weeks ago.
Jamaica XI: Brenton Parchment, Danza Hyatt, Donovan Pagon, Tamar Lambert (c), Nkrumah Bonner, Carlton Baugh Jr. (wk), David Bernard Jr., Bevon Brown, Odean Brown, Andrew Richardson, Jason Dawes.
TOSS: Jamaica captain Tamar Lambert won the toss and chose to bat first.
There are some technical hitches in Berbice but I can tell you that Barbados won the toss and Richards and Brathwaite added 79 for the first wicket. Richards was eventually caught at long-on by Brandon Bess off Chris Barnwell's medium pace while Brathwaite was caught at backward square leg by Devendra Bishoo off Zaheer Mohammed, the off-spinner.
ALBION UPDATE: Lunch, Day 1: Barbados 113/2 (Dale Richards 55, Kraigg Brathwaite 33, Jason Haynes 20 not out, Ryan Hinds 3 not out).
CCC have two changes in their squad with out-of-form batsman Nekoli Parris and injured fast bowler Jason Bennett (right shoulder) replaced by Jamal Smith and Gilford Moore.
Leaders Jamaica, who have won all three of their matches this season - v Windwards, Leewards and Guyana - have been forced to make some changes to their squad. Nikita Miller, Wavell Hinds and Brendan Nash (away with the Windies) and Daren Powell (citing personal reasons) are unavailable. Batsman Bonner, fast bowlers Dawes and Russell and off-spinner Bevon Brown come in.
CCC squad: Floyd Reifer (captain/coach), Kyle Corbin, Omar Phillips, Romel Currency, Jamal Smith, Kjorn Ottley, Chadwick Walton, Kevin McClean, Ryan Austin, Gavin Wallace, Kavesh Kantasingh, Khismar Catlin, Gilford Moore. Assistant coach: Corey Collymore.
Jamaica squad: Tamar Lambert (captain), Brenton Parchment, Danza Hyatt, Donovan Pagon, Nkrumah Bonner, Shawn Findlay, David Bernard Jr., Carlton Baugh Jr., Odean Brown, Bevon Brown, Andrew Richardson, Andre Russell, Jason Dawes. Coach: Junior Bennett.
Welcome to sunny Providence Stadium where we are 10 minutes away from the toss.
