Commentary:
RESULT: Barbados win by 8 wickets despite losing the entire third day to rain. It was a similar scenario in Montego Bay but on that ocassion CCC emrged winners over Trinidad & Tobago. Barbados now move to 15 points and CCC remain on 12. The Bajans move to number two on the points table behind Jamaica who have 24 after back-to-back wins over Windward and Leeward Islands. Barbados were powered to victory by blinding fast bowling by Kemar Roach who claimed career best figures of 7 for 23. The victory was then formalized by Dale Richards with an unbeaten 55. Thanks for joining us here at Grove Park in Nevis for what turned out to be a fantastic game of cricket, the intervetion by rain notwithstanding. We apologise for the outage of commentary in the latter stages which was due to an internet failure. Join us for round three in Barbados starting on Friday, January 22nd, but in the meantime be sure to catch all the action from Antigua where Guyana are making a game of it as they chase 343 for victory against Trinidad & Tobago in that historic day/night pink ball match. We hope you enjoyed the commentary and do take care until.
17ov [1 . . 2 . 4] 100/2: Richards 55*, Hinds 2*. 50 for Richards. Well played. Controlled aggression from Richards seals the deal.
16ov [. 2 4 . . .] 93/2: Richards 49*, Hinds 1*. Just seven runs from victory now. Just a formality at this stage. Exceptional work by Barbados, more specifically Kemar Roach to fetch them victory.
15ov [. 1 . 1 . 1] 88/1: Richards 43*, Hinds 1*. 12 runs away.
14ov [4 . W 2 . .] 85/1: Richards 41*, Hinds 0*. A wicket for Austin but Barbados are just 15 runs away from victory and there are 14 overs to go. Wallace continues.
WICKET! K Edwards c Wallace b Austin 24. 83/2. Edwards goes high and hard for a six but hits into the wind and is caught by Wallace on the mid wicket boundary. Well judged catch and he was looking into the afternoon sun as well was Wallace.
13ov [1 . . 1 . 1] 79/1: Richards 40*, Edwards 20*.
12ov [1 . . . . 6] 76/1: Richards 39*, Edwards 18*. Wallace comes into the attack for the next over replacing Kantasingh at the Pavilion End.
11ov [3 . . 4 . .] 69/1: Richards 33*, Edwards 17*
10ov [. . . 4 4 1] 62/1: Richards 29*, Edwards 14*. DROPPED! Sharp chance to Reifer at first slip. He got a hand to it and put it down but if he had taken that it would have been a stunner. But in these situations you've got to haul those in. It was a genuine chance, not a half chance, 4 runs is the result for Edwards. And then he turns one fine off Austin to get 4 more.

9ov [. . . 1 1 1] 53/1: Richards 29*, Edwards 5*. The victory march is on. The strike being turned over nicely and runs being added up. 47 to get from 19 overs. Austin to continue from the Southern End.
8ov [. 1 1 1. .] 50/1. Richards 28*, Edwards 3*. 50 to get from 20 overs. Barbados cruising along without many alarms.
7ov [1 . 4 2 2 1] 47/1: Richards 27*, Edwards 1*. DROPPED! Richards looks to cut a ball too close for the shot, Edges and hits the keeper's gloves but Reifer at first slip fails to react and the ball rushes past him.
6ov [. . . . . .] 38/1: Richards 19*, Edwards 0*. Richards was comprehensively beaten by the 5th delivery of the over. Tries to go over long on, misses and is beaten by Austin. Maiden over. 62 to get from 22 overs.
5ov [1 3 . 4 . W] 38/1: Richards 19*, Edwards 0*. Kantasingh strikes and Haynes goes. Kirk Edwards is the new batsman. It is a double change, Austin comes into the attack replacing McLean.
WICKET! J Haynes b Kantasingh 13. 38/1. Haynes plays on the backfoot, misses and is bowled.
4ov [4 . 1 . 1 2] 30/0: Richards 16*, Haynes 8*. 8 runs from the over. 70 to get from 24 overs. Barbados should get there in a canter, especially if Richards remains at the crease. Speaking of canter here comes Kavesh Kantasingh, the tournament's leading wicket-taker to bowl his left arm spin. Looks like Austin will replace McLean at the top end as well.
3ov [. 1lb 3 1 . 2] 22/0: Richards 9*, Haynes 7*. 7 runs in the over. 78 more to get from 25 overs.
2ov [. 1 1 . . .] 15/0: Richards 8*, Haynes 2*. Just 2 from the over. CCC, not unpredictably, are spending a lot time setting fields, having team meetings and bowlers pulling in in their run ups etc. Gamesmanship?
1ov [. 4lb 4 2 1nb . 1] 13/0: Richards 7*, Haynes 1*. Barbados off with 13 runs from the first over so 87 to get in 27.
And now for the Barbadian run chase. It should be a cracker here at Grove Park (which is still good for batting) with Dale Richards - who only bats in fifth gear regardless of the circumstances - to start off with Jason Haynes. Jason Bennett with the new ball and no doubt Kevin McLean from the top end for the second over.
75ov [. . . . W] 187 all out from 74.5 overs: Austin *. Well that's that. CCC are all out for 187 and Barbados have exactly 100 to get in 28 overs. It should be an exciting chase but surely Barbados will fancy themselves.
WICKET! K Kantasingh b Roach 0. 187 all out. BOWLED DUNG! (Yes "dung" as opposed to "down"). That ripped the off stump out the ground and wicketkeeper Patrick Browne had to get out of the way of it. Seven-fer for Roach. That's how Test bowlers must bowl and Stuart Williams reckons that is the finest fast bowling performance ever in Nevis. Applause for Roach as he walks off. Roach 13.5-5-23-7. And in those figures he had 10 no balls so he effectively had 7 wickets for 13 runs. Career best figures: 7 for 23.
74ov [. . . . . .] 187/9: Austin 4*, Kantasingh 0*. 4th maiden in a row, 7 maidens and just one run since tea.
73ov [. . . . . .] 187/9: Austin 4*, Kantasingh 0*. Roach is wasting astonishing fast bowling on Kantasingh here. He's just not good enough to touch those blistering deliveries which are dancing this way and the other outside off stump.
72ov [. . . . . .] 187/9: Austin 4*, Kantasingh 0*.
71ov [. . . W . W] 187/9: Austin 4*, Kantasingh 0*. 99 run lead. Double blow in the over. Last pair at the crease now.
WICKET! J Bennett b Roach 0. 187/9: Middle stump is sent flying in the direction of fine leg. Bennett too is beaten for pace. Too quick, too straight. By the type he manages to drop the bat to the ground his stumps are scattered.
WICKET! G Wallace Run Out (Haynes) 1. 187/8: Wallace strays out of his crease and an alert Haynes at short leg gathers the ball and flicked it onto the stumps. Wallace is short of his ground. Fine work by Haynes, brilliant actually. Very alert and a sharp, accurate flick.
70ov [. . . 1 . .] 187/7: Austin 4*, Wallace 1*. Hinds continues from the Southern End but it might be time for Pedro Collins to have a good in tandem with Roach.
69ov [. . . . . .] 186/7: Austin 4*, Wallace 0*. That over was too good for Ryan Austin. That's the type of over Roach needs to keep in reserve to bowl to Jacques Kallis. Austin hardly had a clue, lacked the skills to get an edge.
68ov [. . . . . .] 186/7: Austin 4*, Wallace 0*. Maiden by Hinds.
67ov [. . . . . .] 186/7: Austin 4*, Wallace 0*. Roach continues after tea. Three more wickets to go so Roach could end up with an 8-fer. The way he is bowling it's not at all far-fetched. In fact it must be one of the more likely possibilities. Austin did well to keep him at bay in this over though.
TEA: CCC are 186 for 7 with Ryan Austin on 4 and Gavin Wallace yet to score. They lead by 98 with one session remaining. There was a crucial 79 run partnership for the 6th wicket between Chadwick Walton (43) and Kevin McLean (25) both of whom fought hard and hung in there to defy the Barbadians. If the CCC manage to scramble a draw they will be heavily indebted to those two. Roach though has blasted five of the CCC batsmen to bits. Had this performance been in a televised Test match it would have been heralded by all as unquestionably phenomenal. With the new ball Roach is quick and hostile but as the ball gets older he is lethal and deadly. The two spells - before and after lunch - were Malcom Marshallesque and that is high but deserving praise. Electric fast bowling from a youngster who set Australia alight before Christmas. And this kid does not only have brutal pace, he has cricketing brain, he knows what he is doing. He quickly adjusted his length and made the ball talk off the seam. No wonder Ricky Ponting - one of the greatest of all time - had such a torrid time against him. It speaks to his quality. Whatever happens in this match Roach must be the Man-of-the-Match.
66ov [1 1b 1 . .] 186/7: Austin 4*, Wallace 0*. That's tea and Kemar Roach has given Barbados another session despite an excellent partnership between Walton and McLean which stalled the Barbadian victory charge.
65ov [. . . . . W] 183/6: Austin 2*, Wallace 0*. That was a top class over from one of the finest fast bowlers on the international scene. Showing exactly what he is made of and why he will pick up a huge chunk of dollars in the IPL auction tomorrow.
WICKET! C Walton b Roach 43. 183/7: BOWLED DOWN! Beaten for pace. The bat wasn’t even half way down and the off stump nearly took out the wicketkeeper! Mercy me! That was, as Arrow would sing “HOT HOT HOT” 5fer for Roach and what a performance he has delivered here for Barbados. Worthy of the Man-of-the-match.
64ov [1 . 2 . . .] 183/6: Walton 43*, Austin 2*.
63ov [W . . . . .] 180/6: Walton 42*, Austin 0*. Wicket maiden for Roach. He needs to pick up another 2 wickets and it will be all but a formality. Ryan Hinds replaces Sharmarh Brooks at the Southern End.
WICKET! K McLean b Roach 25. 180/6: Commentator's curse. Roach delivers the wicket Barbados badly wanted. Cuts McLean in half and clips the top of middle stump. That had some pace on it and McLean couldn't handle it. Too hot. New batsman is Ryan Austin.
62ov [. . . . . .] 180/5: Walton 42*, McLean 25*. Maiden by Brooks. he responds well to him hit out the ground in the previous over. 92 run lead for CCC now. Barbados needs to break this partnership.
61ov [. . . 4 .] 180/5: Walton 42*, McLean 25*. Ryan Hinds has had enough. Best is repalced by - guess who - Kemar Roach. The guys under the tree on the midwicket boundary have come alive. They have been bawling for Kemar for the last 40 minutes. They get their wish. Cut away by McLean for four. The shot of a genuine top order batsman that.
60ov [1 . 1lb . 4 6] 176/5: Walton 42*, McLean 21*. Big six to end the over. Out of the ground! Walton went down the track and lofted Brooks over long on, over the sightscreen, over the road and into a nearby play field. Biggest shot of the match by some distance. And that followed a four.
59ov [. . 4b . . .] 164/6: Walton 31*, McLean 20*.
58ov [. . . . . 1] 160/5: Walton 31*, McLean 20*. Single to McLean.
57ov [2 . . . . .] 159/5: Walton 31*, McLean 19*.
56ov [. . . . . 1] 157/5: Walton 29*, McLean 19*. Charles off and Brooks on to deliver his variety of leg spin.
55ov [. . 2 . 1 .] 156/5: Walton 28*, McLean 19*. Tino's pace is not all that hot. A bit tired perhaps.
54ov [1 3 . . 2nb . 1] 153/5. Walton 25*, McLean 19*. 65 run lead.
53ov [. . . . 4b 1] 145/5. Walton 21*, McLean 16*. Drinks.
52ov [. . . . . .] 140/5: Walton 20*, McLean 16*. Maiden.
51ov [. . . 2 2] 140/5: Walton 20*, McLean 16*. (NB: Scores adjusted by official scorer once again)
50ov [. 1 . 1 . 1] 137/5: Walton 15*, McLean 18*. Batsmen are turning over the strike nicely against Charles now. They have his measure.
49ov [. . . 1nb . 1lb .] 134/5: Walton 13*, McLean 17*.
48ov [nb . . . . 1] 131/5: Walton 13*, McLean 16*.
47ov [1 2 . . . nb 2] 129/5: Walton 13*, McLean 15*. Double change, Collins off, Best on. He's keeping it at a fuller length as well. Not a single short ball that over. Must be a first for Tino. 38 ahead are CCC.
46ov [. 2 . . . .] 123/5: Walton 9*, McLean 14*. Hinds removes himself from the attack and brings on Charles, the leg spinner.
45ov [. . 2 2 . .] 121/5: Walton 7*, McLean 14*. Two fine shots into the on side first then behind point for doubles by McLean. Continues to look good. A few dark clouds gather but they seem as though they are not coming in the direction of Grove Park.
44ov [1 2 . . . .] 117/5. Walton 7*, McLean 10*. McLean is playing positively and batting like a true all rounder. Looking more confident than even Walton.
43ov [. . . . nb . .] 114/5: Walton 5*, McLean 9*. Another probing over by Collins but well neogtiated by Walton.
42ov [. . . 1 . .] 113/5: Walton 5*, McLean 9*. Miserly Ryan Hinds sends down another over from the Southern End.
41ov [. . . . 2 .] 112/5: Walton 4*, McLean 9*. Two runs more.
40ov [. . . . . .] 110/5: Walton 4*, McLean 7*. Maiden.
39ov [. . . . . 1] 110/5: Walton 4*, McLean 7*.Just a single.
38ov [. . . 2 . . ]109/5: Walton 3*, McLean 7*. Pedro Collins to bowl from the Pavilion End.
Back after lunch. Ryan Hinds to start at the Southern End. (NB: Scores were adjusted at lunch time by the official scorers. The score is 107 for 5, not 106 for 5 and Walton is on 3 and not 4 and McLean is 5.)
LUNCH: Barbados - to use a Sean Devers favourite - are "large and in charge". CCC 107 for 5 with Kevin McLean on 5 and Chadwick Walton on 3. CCC have erased the first innings deficit of 88 but are only 18 ahead. The way Kemar Roach is bowling the CCC should not last for too much longer after the interval. Roach 6-0-19-3. He's bowling with pace, genuine, hostile pace and getting the ball to 'talk' off the seam. He has rocked the CCC middle order and the lunch rest will give him a much needed rest (and the CCC team some respite) and he should run at CCC fresh after the meal. Surely he will be chomping at the bit to have a go. Rejoin us in 40 minutes for all the action.
37ov [1 . . . . .] 107/5: Walton 3*, McLean 5*. No no balls in that over but no wickets either. Amazing that Roach kept his foot behind the line for those wicket taking deliveries. That's lunch then and Barbados are well and truly on top. CCC are in a heap of problems here. The Barbados players are still taunting some of the dismissed CCC batsmen as they enter the pavilion. Loud shouts of "beaten for pace, beaten for pace" as the enter their dressing room. No doubt Reifer is the target as they are also mentioning "shouldering arms" which Reifer did when he was out. The Bajans know they are on the way to securing full points. It is just a matter of time. The weather looks good so that shouldn't prevent them.
36ov [1 . . . . .] 105/5: Walton 3*, McLean 4*. Hinds continues to tie it up from his end, not allowing very many runs.
35ov [. . . W 3 .] 104/5: Walton 3*. McLean 3*. No no balls in that over and another wicket for Roach as he is - wait for the cliche - slicing through the CCC batting like a hot knife through butter.
WICKET! N Parris lbw Roach 29*. BEAUTY! Got him! Plumb as ever! That one was quick and Parris was beaten for pure pace. If his pad wasn't in the way that would have shattered the middle stump. Roach is ripping apart the CCC middle order here. A superb spell. He must have heard Stuart Williams' sage advice to pitch it fuller. He has done that and is being rewarded. The world's hottest fast bowling merchandise is putting on a performance which people pay good money to watch.
34ov [1 . 1 . 1 2] 101/1: Parris 29*, Walton 3*. 100 up but CCC just 13 ahead with 4 wickets down.
33ov [. . nb . 3nb 1nb nb . W 1lb] 96/4: Parris 27*, Walton 0*. First ball pitched on off stump and moving away and left alone by Reifer. Second ball pitched on the same spot and came back and left alone by Reifer. Struck on the pads. The whole Barbadian team goes up. They were convinced that was going to shatter middle and off. They're probably right but umpire Weekes shakes his head in the negative. Lucky escape for the CCC captain. Kemar certainly thinks he had him and from the pavilion it looks like Kemar was right but the umpire is closer to the action. Maybe he say something we didn't. Another loud lbw shout. Reifer leaves alone and is taken on the pad. Not as close as the first lbw shout but close still. And the third shout got the wicket. Still struggling with the no balls is Roach.
WICKET! F Reifer lbw Roach 3. 95/4. Roach gets the big one again! Shout after lbw shout in that over and third time’s a charm for Roach. Umpire Weekes raises the finger finally. All three lbw shouts in that over looked out but Roach had to wait until the third time to get the wicket officially.
32ov [1b . . . . .] 87/3: Parris 26*, Reifer 0*. Hinds keeps Parris on strike. That means Roach will get a crack at Reifer. Remember he was Roach's only wicket in the first innings and Roach really shook him up. Roach will enjoy this opportunity. Let's see what happens.
31ov [. . . nb nb . . .] 86/3. Parris 26*, Reifer 0*. 2 no balls in the over to spoil it. He's bowling quickly and bowling a little fuller as suggested by Stuart Williams.
30ov [. . . 1 . .] 84/3: Parris 26*, Reifer 0*. Tino Best seems to be the designated spokesperson of the Bajan team in the field, as Ryan Austin is for CCC.
29ov [. nb W . nb nb . . nb .] 83/3: Parris 25*, Reifer 0*. Got the wicket but has a no ball problem. Had to re-measure his run up. Four no balls in that over. Importantly the wicket ball was legal.
WICKET! R Currency b Roach 11. 80/3: Played on! Currency comes forward and plays for outswing but that one holds its line and gets the inside edge and crashes onto middle stump. Bails fly everywhere. Roach is delighted. Currency shouldered arms to the first ball and is hit - flush and hard - on the rib cage. Did not pick up the line of that one at all and it softened him up well. Reifer comes in. He’s the match. His wicket is key. The big one in this CCC line up. If the Bajans can remove him they will be confident of being able to pull off a win this afternoon.
28ov [. . . 1 . .] 79/2: Parris 25*, Currency 11*. Another tight over by Hinds. Keeping the pressure on.
27ov [. . . . 1 .] 78/2: Parris 25*, Currency 10*. A ha! First bowl for Kemar Roach this morning. Stuart Williams is with us here and suggesting that he has started bowling a good length for Perth but not for Grove Park. Needs to be a fuller Stuart suggests. And he must know. Born and bred Nevisian who must have played a thousand games on this pitch.
26ov [. 1 . . 1 .] 77/2: Parris 25*, Currency 9*.
25ov [. . . 1 4 4] 75/2: Parris 24*, Currency 8*. Currency off the mark but should not be. Straight drives back to Charles but he misses it and it goes to the boundary. Follows up with an on drive for another 4. Fine shot.
24ov [. 4 . 1 . .] 66/2: Parris 23*, Currency 0*. Parris goes over mid on. First runs off the bat for four overs. Currency still not yet off the mark.
23ov [. . . . . .] 61/2: Parris 18*, Currency 0*. Currency using his feet to Charles but not finding the gaps.
22ov [. . . . . nb .] 61/2: Parris 18*, Currency 0*. Hinds spoils the over by delivering a no ball. Criminal that he is overstepping as he is almost walking to the crease. Parris playing him on the backfoot. Dangerous ploy.
210v [. . . 2 1 .] 60/2: Parris 18*, Currency 0*.
20ov [. . . . . .] 57/2: Parris 15*, Currency 0*. Consecutive maidens now. Hinds switching from over the wicket to around consistently.
19ov [. . . . . .] 57/2: Parris 15*, Currency 0*. Spinners are racing through the overs. Maiden from Parris. He's bowling well. Much more accurate than he has been all match.
18ov [. . . 2 . 1] 57/2: Parris 15*, Currency 0*.
17ov [2 . 1 . 3 W] 54/2: Parris 12*, Currency 0*. Another successful over for Charles. CCC needs to bat time. The spinners have them on the back foot, literally and figuratively.
WICKET: O Phillips c Richards b Charles 20. 54/2. CCC in trouble now. 2 wickets down before lunch. Charles is producing the goods for Barbados and putting severe pressure on CCC. Another wicket or two before lunch and they will truly be under the pump.
16ov [. . 2 . . 2] 48/1: Phillips 17*, Parris 9*.
15ov [. . . 1 . .] 44/1. Phillips 17*, Parris 5*.
14ov [. . . . . 1] 43/1. Phillips 17*, Parris 4*.
13ov [nb . . 1 . . .] 42/1: Phillips 17*, Parris 3*.
12ov [. 4 . . . .] 40/1: Phillips 17*. Parris 2*. Cut fine for four by Phillips.
11ov [W . 2 . . .] 36/1: Phillips 13*, Parris 2*. Charles gets a wicket in his first over. He doesn't always bowl spot on but can produce wicket-taking deliveries and produced one first up.
WICKET: S Jackson c wkt Browne b Charles 17. 34/1. First ball wicket for Charles. He's not always on target but produces wicket taking deliveries and did so first up.
10ov [. . . . . .] 34/0. Phillips 13*, Jackson 17*. Maiden from Hinds.
9ov [. . . . 2 4] 34/0. Phillips 13*, Jackson 17*. Last ball cut away. No finesse, loads of power. Hit hard, less timing. Screams to the boundary.
8ov [1 . . . . nb 2] 28/0. Phillips 13*, Jackson 11*. Ryan Hinds brings himself into the attack.
7ov [. . 2 1 1lb .] 25/0: Phillips 11*, Jackson 10*. One loud lbw shout by Collins, the keeper and the slips. Not upheld by umpire Weekes. A leg bye is the results.
6ov [. . . 2 . 4 ] 21/0: Phillips 8*, Jackson 10*. BOOM! Short and wide and Jackson clobbers it over mid wicket. That was a thumping shot. Not textbook, just a hard lash!
5ov [. . . . nb . .] 15/0: Phillips 8*, Jackson 4*. DROPPED! Now Brooks genuinely stuffs that up. He's at 2nd slip but it is really 1 and a half slip, standing way too close to Dale Richards who is in 1st slip. Thick healthy edge is induced from Phillips' bat by Pedro Collins. Richards would have swallowed that but Brooks dives in front of him and grasses it. Unlike Tino, Pedro calmly walks back to his mark and gets on with the business.
4ov [. . nb2 4 . . 1] 14/0: Phillips 8*, Jackson 4*. Close shave. Phillips edges just past Brooks at 2nd slip. Tino is loud and belligerent. No surprises there. He thinks that should have been taken but he's not being realistic. That would have been miraculous if Brooks could have hung on to it. Not even sure that was a chance. Got no hand to it. It was quick and too wide of him. Phillips gets a 4 in the end. First boundary of the innings.
3ov [. . . . . .] 6/0: Phillips 1*, Jackson 4*. Maiden over by Collins. The conditions have cleared up nicely. Sunshine out and Best is ready to attack Phillips with short balls again.
2ov [. . . . nb3 . .] 6/0: Phillips 1*, Jackson 4*. Tino Best bowls the second over to follow Pedro Collins' first over. Excellent short ball from Tino to end the over. Fast and on target. Clobbers Phillips on the shoulder. Second time in the match he's been hit on that shoulder. He's not been handling genuinely quick short balls very well. Flinching and taking his eyes off it and is getting hit. Dangerous approach for an opening batsman to take really.
1ov [. . 1 . 1 .] 2/0: Phillips 1*, Jackson 1*. We're off and both batsmen are off the mark with singles.
9:33am: At 9:29am the stumps were removed and the covers were almost on the pitch. The groundstaff anticipated a shower which was quickly approaching. Then it seemed to have stalled and there was bright sunshine so the umpires instructed that the stumps be put back up. That was done and Barbadian players came out and Pedro Collins marked his run up. Before the CCC openers arrived the rain came. It was a sharp shower so the groundstaff rushed on with the covers. The shower quickly passed and the covers were removed once again. The players are now back out. 5 minutes of pure action and nothing involving a cricket ball or bat. We'll start in a minute or two unless the weather decides otherwise.
9:25am: Good morning all. Thanks for joining us for this final day of Barbados v Combined Campuses and Colleges. We start in five minutes. The conditions are much hotter than they have been all match. After an entire day was lost to rain yesterday Barbados will want to run hard at CCC as they commence their second innings with an 88 run deficit. It could be a very intriguing day if Barbados manage some early wickets today. The prisoners cum groundmen are making the final preparations to the pitch and the umpires will be out shortly.
1:50pm: The umpires, at 1:45pm officially abandoned play for today. Too much rain. It's still coming down and there is no sign of it letting up. In fact it has been coming down much harder in the last few minutes. Barbados will not be happy with this situation as they have an 88 run lead and were looking for a full day of cricket in order to have a go at the CCC batsmen in their second innings and try for an outright result to move up from 4th position on the points table after losing first innings points and drawing their match against Leewards in Jamaica. We'll resume at 9:30am tomorrow weather permitting. Have a good Sunday afternoon and an even better evening.
1:20pm: Still raining here at Grove Park. Steady, persistent, continuous. Play on day three is looking more and more unlikely. Thick clouds in the east have made it impossible to see Saddle Hill.
12pm: It's pouring down now folks. Much heavier than at the time of the last update. Lunch time is upon us so the players will have the meal and we will have to wait and see. That's the game we're playing here wait-and-see.
11:30am: Still raining here at Grove Park. That frustrating 'white rain' which is not pouring down but blowing steadily across the field. The dominoes are out in the dressing rooms now. Lots of action there.
11am: A steady rain has been bucketing down for the past 20 minutes. Any play before lunch now seems out the window. Both teams are here and seem to be playing some card games and relaxing in the dressing rooms.
10:25am: That sharp shower has passed and the sun is out but the ground staff are not yet keen to remove the covers. Saddle Hill is about 3 miles to the east as the crow flies and that's where the rain comes from. And it covers those three miles of so rather quickly. Ground staff is erring on the side of caution as they think there is some more rain behind that hill and one would have to agree with them as the sky is dark in that direction.
10am: Welcome to Grove Park in Nevis folks. Not very good weather this morning so we will not start on time. Some steady downpours this morning island wide and the outfield is wet and the covers are still on the pitch. The weather has taken a turn for the better but there is rain in the distance and the locals say a shower will shortly be upon us. The first two days here were beautiful for cricket but not so this morning. We'll have a start somewhere closer to, if not after lunch given this shower to come. We will keep you posted. Stay tuned.
STUMPS DAY 2: Barbados all out for 301 in response to CCC's 213. They have a 88 run lead and when play resumes on day three they will go hard at CCC and press for an outright win. Kevin Stoute played a fine hand for Barbados with 74 and there was a solid 52 from Jason Haynes at the top of the order with contributions all the way through from most of the batters. 4 for 87 for Ryan Austin and 3 for 57 for Gavin Wallace. (NB: If you notice some slightly different individual scores on the scorecard it is as a result of the official scorer making some adjustments).
95ov [. 4 4 . . W] 301: Collins 0*. 300 up with consecutive fours from Tino off Austin. The dressing room is enjoying his batting. But Austin gets revenge as Best tries to pull a straighter delivery and umpire Luther Kelly sends him on his and that's the end of the day's play.
WICKET! T Best lbw Austin 28. 301 all out. Barbados take a first innings lead of 88.

94ov [. 1 . . . .] 293/9: Best 20*, Collins 0*. Collins succesffully negotiates the last four balls of that over after Best took a single.
93ov [2 . 4 . 1 .] 292/9: Best 19*, Collins 0*. Fine shot behind square leg for four by Tino. Not quite a sweep, not a pull. Something in between.
92ov [. 4 . 1 . .] 285/9: Best 12*, Collins 0*. Swept away by Best for four. Barbados have a first innings lead of 71.
91ov [. 1 W . . .] 280/9: Best 7*, Collins 0*. Another successful over by Austin.
WICKET! P Browne c Phillips b Austin 6. 280/9. Plays with hard hands and it goes straight to Phillips at short leg. Austin is slicing through the lower order. Down to nine wickets now are the Bajans. Last man Pedro Collins comes out.
90ov [. . . 1 . .] 279/8: Browne 6*, Best 6*. Kantasingh continues to probe away looking for the last 2 wickets.

89ov [W . 4 . 1 .] 278/8: Browne 6*, Best 5*. Best off the mark with a boundary through square leg.
WICKET! K Roach c Jackson b Austin 0. 273/8: Roach gets an inside edge and Jackson takes a sharp catch under the bat. Another one goes down and Barbados are folding quickly here. Tino Best appears and the crowd's awake straight away!
88ov [. . 4 . . . ] 273/7: Browne 6*, Roach 0*. Browne goes high and hard. A lot of bottom hand. Just short of being a six.
87ov [. . 1 . W .] 269/7: Browne 2*, Roach 0*. Austin registers a number in the wickets column. Brooks goes to a loose shot as did Stoute.
WICKET! S Brooks c Currency b Austin 34. 269/7: Prods forward and hits it low to Currency who finally hangs on to one. Kemar Roach is the new batsman. 2 wickets in 6 overs. CCC making a comeback after losing first innings points.
86ov [. . 1 . . .] 268/6: Brooks 34*, Browne 1*. Browne off the mark with a single.
85ov [. . . 4 4 .] 267/6: Brooks 34*, Browne 0*. Consecutive fours. A back foot drive through covers then a pull through the on side and the fielder - Kantasingh - gets a bad bounce and it goes into the boundary.
84ov [. . . . . .] 259/6: Brooks 26*, Browne 0*. Maiden by Kantasingh now.
83ov [. . . . . .] 259/6: Brooks 26*, Browne 0*. Maiden by Austin.
82ov [1 1 4 . . W] 259/6: Brooks 26*, Browne 0*. Kantasingh is back, replacing McLean. He gets the breaktrhough and gets the big wicket of topscorer Stoute after being hit for a delgihtful straight drive.
WICKET! K Stoute c Reifer b Kantasingh 73. 259/6. Kantasingh does the trick. Comes back and induces a loose shot from Stoute. Well taken by Captain Reifer at first slip. Stoute is gutted, he was in full flight then paid the ultimate price with one indiscretion.
81ov [. . . . . .] 253/5: Stoute 68*, Brooks 25*. Brooks dropped by Currency at forward short leg. Bad miss by the Vincentian. Should have taken that easily, it popped up to him. His second spill of the innings. Ryan Austin has to turn his back and look away to hide his anger from Currency. We can hear him scream in anguish from beyond the boundary.
80ov [4 . . . . 4] 253/5: Stoute 68*, Brooks 25*. Disdainful! Stoute pulls McLean's first ball to the mid wicket boundary with utter contempt! Shot! And he is rewarded with a short ball by McLean which has his ducking. A fast bowler responding with a short ball to being hit for four? What else is new? And ends the over with another extra cover drive which excites the crowd. Cracking shot. Onto the front foot on a flash and put some more power than timing in that one and it went scorching to the boundary rope.
79ov [1 . 1 . . .] 245/5: Stoute 60*, 25*. Austin comes into the attack replacing Wallace at the Pavilion End. Interesting! Austin goes up for a loud lbw shout v Brooks but Umpire Kelly says he can't render a verdict as Austin ran infront him in his follow through blocking his view of the delivery as it hit pads.
78ov [4 . . 2 . 4] 243/5: Stoute 59*, Brooks 24*. Stoute gets to 50 with a thick edge past third slip. Goes to the boundary for 4. He raises the bat and acknowledges the warm applause from team mates and around the ground. Stoute splits the bat with a straight drive for 2 and gets it replaced. Ends the over with an inside edge which flew past a diving wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton. Runs away for 4.
77ov [. . . 1 . .] 233/5: Stoute 49*, Brooks 24*. Stoute moves to within one of his first fifty of the season. Drinks.
76ov [. . . . . .] 232/5: Stoute 48*, Brooks 24*. Maiden by McLean. Probing outside that off stump.
75ov [2 . 1 4 . 1] 232/5: Stoute 48*, Brooks 24*. Short and pulled away by Brooks. Didn't get it in the middle of the bat but runs away nevertheless. In the meantime Stoute closes in on a fifty.
74ov [. . . . . .] 224/5: Stoute 45*, Brooks 19*. Kantasingh has been pulled and McLean is back and starts with a maiden. Stoute and Brooks have put on 38 runs and CCC is searching for a wicket.
73ov [. . . . . 3] 224/5: Stoute 45*, Brooks 19*. Brooks moves on by three. He makes batting look so easy.
72ov [. 1 . . . 1] 221/5: Stoute 45*, Brooks 16*.
71ov [1 . . 4 . 4] 219/5: Stoute 44*, Brooks 15*. Wallace comes back, replacing Bennett. Barbados takes the first innings points by going past CCC's 213. That was an exhibition cover drive by Brooks to finish the over. He's putting on a show of cover driving for the fans at hand.
70ov [1 . . 1 . .] 210/5: Stoute 43*, Brooks 7*.
69ov [. . . . 1 .] 208/5: Stoute 42*, Brooks 6*.
68ov [. . 4 . . .] 207/5: Stoute 42*, Brooks 5*. Cover driven again. Stoute moves into the 40s.
67ov [1 . . . . .] 203/5: Stoute 38*, Brooks 5*. Just a single. Bennett keeping it tight.
66ov [. . . . . .] 202/5: Stoute 37*, Brooks 5*. Maiden by Kantasingh.
65ov [. . 3 1 4 .] 202/5: Stoute 37*, Brooks 5*. 200 up with an exquisite Stoute drive bisecting extra cover and mid off.
Back after team and Bennett to start. Each session was started with a maiden today. Pressure on Bennett then.
TEA: Barbados are 194 for 5 with Kevin Stoute on 30 and Sharmar Brooks just off the mark on 4. 90 runs in that session for the loss of 3 wickets (Jason Haynes for 52, Kirk Edwards for 17 and Ryan Hinds for 29). Barbados making stead progress towards securing first innings points. They just need another 20 runs to formalize it.
64ov [. . . 4 . . ] 194/5: Stoute 30*, Brooks 4*. My golly Miss Molly! What a cover drive from this most talented young man Brooks. No more than 20 feet to extra cover's left. But he had no chance. Races to the boundary. Timing. That's the way to get off the mark and a fine way to end the session.
63ov [. . . . . .] 190/5: Stoute 30*, Brooks 0*. Maide from Bennett ends with a short ball which finds Stoute ducking low.
62ov [. . 1 . . .] 190/5: Stoute 30*, Brooks 0*. Austin not allowing many runs.
61ov [. 3 . . . W] 189/5: Stoute 29*, Brooks 0*. Bennett gets the much needed breakthrough. Reifer would be relieved. Hinds and Stoute put on 51 for the 5th wicket.
WICKET! R Hinds c Phillips b Bennett 29. 186/5: Pulled that straight to Omar Phillips at short mid wicket. Poor shot from the captain. Picked out the man and that's that. Shahmar Brooks comes in.
LUNCH: Barbados are 104 for 2 with Jason Haynes unbeaten on 52 and Kirk Edwards, the elegant right hander not out on 1 after getting a life in the last over before the break. Barbados are 110 runs away from taking first innings points with 8 wickets in hand and emerged from that session with the advantage despite the late wicket by Gavin Wallace of nightwatchman Nikolai Charles for 20.
36ov [. . . . . .] 104/2: Haynes 52*, Edwards 1*. Edwards gets a life early. Dropped by Romel Currency fielding under the bat, robs Kantasingh of his first wicket. Sharp chance but that has got to be hauled in at this level. Was sharp but went straight to him. That's lunch.
35ov [. . . W . 1] 104/2: Haynes 52*, Edwards 1*. Wallace, the leg spinner brings success to CCC. One more over before lunch.
WICKET! N Charles lbw Wallace 20. 103/2. Gavin Wallace strikes with his fourth ball of 2010. Padding up was Charles and it hit a bit high but umpire Luther Kelly raises that dreaded finger. Barbados lose a wicket just on the stroke of lunch. Kirk Edwards comes out.
34ov [. . . . . .] 103/1: Haynes 52*, Charles 20*. Lots of ooohs and aaahs as Kantasingh bowls. Variations galore.
33ov [nb . . . . . 1] 103/1: Haynes 52*, Charles 20*. Third no ball from Austin this morning.
32ov [. . . . . .] 101/1: Haynes 51*, Charles 20*. Kantasingh returns to delivering a maiden.
31ov [. 1 . 6 . .] 101/1: Haynes 51*, Charles 20*. Haynes brings up his 50 (and Barbados' 100) in style with a straight six. And lunch is quickly approaching. The Bajans will want to be careful not to lose a wicket at this stage.
30ov [. . . . 1 3] 94/1: Haynes 45*, Charles 19*. Finally Charles gets off 16. Well done with a cut for 3. Kantasingh cutting back on flight and putting a bit more pace on the ball. Haynes is crawling through the 40s.
29ov [1 . . . . .] 90/1: Haynes 44*, Charles 16*. Charles is struggling to get off 16. He's been there for 12 overs now. He's hunting for a single but finding fielders everywhere.
28ov [2 . . . . .] 89/1: Haynes 43*, Charles 16*. First runs off the bat for five overs.
27ov [. . . . . .] 87/1: Haynes 41*, Charles 16*. Another maiden. 4 maidens in the last 6 overs. Charles, who faced that over from Austin, hasn't scored a run for 10 overs.
26ov [ . . . . . .] 87/1: Haynes 41*, Charles 16*. Maiden. The spinners are applying the pressure and Charles has already showed signs of cracking while Haynes, in this over, appears to be anxious for a run as well.
25ov [. . . . . nb .] 87/1: Haynes 41*. Charles 16*. Austin spoils that over by overstepping. Michael Holding - a man who bowled as many no balls in his career as he scored Test half centuries - would be appalled at a spinner overstepping.
24ov [. . . . . .] 86/1: Haynes 41*, Charles 16*. Consecutive maiden by Kantasingh. Haynes still looking to be positive though.
23ov [1 . . . . .] 86/1: Haynes 41*, Charles 16*. Just a single from that Austin over.
22ov [. . . . . .] 85/1: Haynes 40*, Charles 16*. Kantasingh finding his measure. Maiden.
21ov [. . 4 . . .] 85/1: Haynes 40*, Charles 16*. Haynes moves into the 40s with a boundary wide of mid off. Aerial but safe.
An hour's play is gone and that's drinks. Good first hour for the Bajans. They have added 48 and lost no wickets. Haynes is playing positively and Charles has not been ruffled too much. Haynes eyeing his first half century for the 2010 season.
20ov [. . 1 . . .] 81/1: Haynes 36*, Charles 16*.
19ov [. . . . nb . 1] 80/1: Haynes 35*, Charles 16*.
18ov [. 3 4 . . .] 78/1: Haynes 34*, Charles 16*. Kantasingh into the attack. Spin at both ends. Get used to it. This is how it will be for most of the day. Driven away for 3 by Haynes and squeezed fine passed the keeper for 4 by Charles.
17ov [. 1 . . . .] 71/1: Haynes 31*, Charles 12*.
16ov [2lb 1 4 . . 3] 70/1. Haynes 30*, Charles 12*.
15ov [. 2 . . 6 .] 60/1: Haynes 23*, Charles 11*. Austin into the attack. Haynes goes downtown. Hits that high over Austin's head, over the ropes. 6!
14ov [. 1 . . 2 .] 52/1: Haynes 15*, Charles 11*.
13ov [. 1 . . . nb .] 49/1: Haynes 14*, Charles 9*.
12ov [. 4 . . . .] 47/1: Haynes 13*, Charles 9*. Edged! He looked to drive did Charles, then checked the shot when he realised it was a bit too wide but got a thick edge which flew over second slip. Too high for Simon Jackson to get a hand to it even though he jumped like a goalie chasing an aerial free kick over the crossbar. 4! That really flew, would have made a stunning catch if it went to hand. Runs coming along at a good pace but some good deliveries being delivered as well.
11ov [1 . . . . .] 43/1: Haynes 13*, Charles 5*. Just a single at the top of that over. Haynes plays cautiously. Watchful and defensive.
10ov [. . . . . 4] 42/1: Haynes 13*, Charles 4*. McLean's surely jealous of those Bennett short balls so he delivers four of his own. The last of which was put away by Haynes via a hook. One bounce into the fence.
9ov [1lb . . 4 . .] 38/1: Haynes 9*, Charles 4*. Bennett in the attack from the Pavilion End. Charles with a sweetly timed off drive. In the gap and the fielder - Ryan Austin - merely jogs to retrieve. Bennett shows his pedigree by responding with a short lifting delivery but Charles is equal to the task and drops his hands while swaying towards square leg. And another one! He ducks out of the way this time but only barely! That was quick!
8ov [. . . . . .] 33/1: Haynes 9*, Charles 0*. Maiden over from the tall but lean Kevin McLean to start the day's play.
Welcome to Grove Park for Day 2 of the Barbados v CCC game in the second round. Barbados are 33 for 1 chasing 214 for first innings points and there is hot debate in the commentary booth and the pavilion as to whether they can counter CCC's spin trio in the red hot Kavesh Kantasingh, Ryan Austin and Gavin Wallace. Lovely conditions once again. Warm sunshine, cool breeze and we're ready. Umpires and players are out and Reifer is being meticulous in setting his field.
END OF PLAY: Barbados are 33 for 1 with Jason Haynes on 9 and nightwatchman Nikolai Charles not yet off the mark. They are 180 runs behind with nine wickets in hand and will have all day tomorrow to work on getting first innings points and build a lead. Remember after round one Barbados are in 4th position with just 3 points from their draw with Leewards when they lost first innings points. CCC on the other hand are sitting pretty at the top of the table on 12 points alongside Jamaica who beat Windwards. Join us tomorrow at 10am when the action resumes here at Grove Park. Have a good evening.
It was a bit of a challenging day for us bringing you these live scores and commentaries and we thank you for your patience. We think we have vanquished that troublesome technical bug which jumped from venue to venue in the Leewards and we think it should be smooth(er) sailing tomorrow from all venues. In the meantime be sure to join the action over in Antigua at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium where Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago are doing battle in that historic day/night affair being played with pink balls. T&T are well and truly on top.
7ov [. . . . . 4nb .] 33/1. Haynes 9*, Charles 0*. And that brings play to an end for day one, a day on which the Barbadians dominated though CCC fought bravely to get over 200 after a middle order slump.
6ov [. . . 4 W .] 28/1. Haynes 9*, Charles 0*. Oooo! Powerful cut. Murderous that was! Awesome. It crashed, yes crashed into the chain link fencing and made a huge thunderous bang when it did! But then. But then! BUT THEN! The small crowd is not happy. Short delivery and rather than letting it go with the end nigh Richards goes berserk and gets an edge and goes. Not very smart stuff from the opener.
WICKET! D Richards c wkt Walton b McLean 22. 28/1. After a thunderous cut Richards is caught down the leg side. He is not happy with the decision. Suggesting he did not play the ball as he walks off but there was a sound and there wasn't anything other than the bat close to the ball as it passed. CCC get a wicket before close of play and nightwatchman Nikolai Charles comes in.
5ov [1 . . 4 . .] 24/0. Richards 18*, Haynes 5*. Kantasingh is off after 2 overs and Bennett is into the attack.
4ov [1 . 6 1 . .] 19/0. Richards 17*, Haynes 1*. BOOM! Richards is not the type of chap to close up shop. Hooks! High! Hard! S-I-X-! And what do you know? He goes for it again! And Bennett is slow off the mark at fine leg and stuff up the catch. Gets both hands to it, tumbles and spills it! A bad mess and a bad miss. McLean deserves that wicket.
3ov [2 . . 4 . .] 11/0. Richards 10*, Haynes 0*. Pulled through midwicket for 4. Beats the fielder into the boundary.
2ov [. nb . . . . .] 5/0. Richards 4*, Haynes 0*. McLean is working up some pace and Haynes is not dealing with it well. A bit jumpy he is. Well worked over in that over by McLean who has started in Kemar Roachesque fashion. The small crowd on hand is loving it.
1ov [. 2 . . . 2] 4/0. Richards 4*, Haynes 0*. Kantasingh starts and McLean will bowl from the top end.
Well well! Kantasingh the left arm destroyer of T&T to start with the new ball. Reifer isn't muching about at all.
81ov [. 2 1 W] 213 all out. Currency 45*. Charles comes back into the attack replacing Roach and finishes the job immediately. Currency misses out on a fifty. He started off scratchily but stuck it out to play an important innings and got CCC over the 200 mark which looked a stretch at one stage. The Barbadian innings to commence in a short while. They will have a dicey few overs to negotiate before close of play as the shadows of the trees lining the mid wicket boundary stretch across the outfield.
WICKET! K Kantasingh stp Browne b Charles 10. 213 all out.
80ov [1 . 4 . . 2] 210/9. Currency 43*, Kantasingh 10*. Smashed over mid wicket for 4 by Kantasingh.
79ov [. . 4 . 1 .] 203/9. Currency 42*, Kantasingh 4*. 200 comes up with a glorious cover drive by Currency off Roach. He'll remember that for a long time Currency will.
78ov [. W . 2 2 .] 198/9. Currency 37*, Kantasingh 4*.
WICKET! J Bennett c Richards b Hinds 6. 194/9. Edged to slip. Identical to Austin's dismissal.
77ov [. . . . . .] 194/8. Currency 37*, Bennett 6*. Maiden over from Roach. FYI: Live commentary is up and running in the GY v TT game in Antigua. See the side panel for details.
76ov [. 4 . 2 . .] 194/8. Currency 37*, Bennett 6*. An awesome straight drive by Bennett. Barbados not able to close the CCC innings out just yet.
75ov [. . . . nb . .]188/8. Currency 37*, Bennett 0*. Roach spoils a fine over with a no ball.
74ov [. . . nb . . .] 187/8. Currency 37*, Bennett 0*.
73ov [. . . . . .] 186/8. Currency 37*, Bennett 0*. Maiden from Roach.
72ov [. 1 . . . W] 186/8. Currency 37*, Bennett 0*. Another successful over for the Bajan skipper. That's his second wicket. 10 wickets in 2 matches so far.
WICKET! G Wallace b wkt Browne b Hinds 2. 186/7. Played forward and got a faint nick to the keeper.
71ov [. nb . . 1 1 .] 185/7. Currency 36*, Wallace 2*
70ov [. . . W . 1] 182/7. Currency 35*, Wallace 1*. Ryan Hinds strikes and gets the breakthrough of that nagging partnership.
WICKET! R Austin c Richards b Hinds 19. 181/7. Caught low at first slip by Richards pushing forward and getting an edge. Drinks taken.
Apologies now from Grove Park. The technical bug has bitten here. We've been down for a few overs and are back up now.
67ov [. . . . . .] 167/6. Currency 30*, Austin 12*. Roach is back.
66ov [. 1 4 . . .] 167/6. Currency 30*, Austin 12*. Crashed through covers by Austin for 4.
65ov [. 1 . . . .] 162/6. Currency 29*, Austin 8*.
64ov [. 1 . . nb . .] 161/6. Currency 28*, Austin 8*.
63ov [. . . . . .] 159/6. Currency 27*, Austin 8*. Maiden from Pedro Collins.
62ov [. . 1 . . nb] 159/6. Currency 27*, Austin 8*
61ov [. . . . . .] 157/6. Currency 27*, Austin 7*
60ov [. . . . 4] 157/6. Currency 27*, Austin 7*.
59ov [. . . nb . 2 .] 153/6. Currency 27*, Austin 3*.
58ov [. . 1 . . .] 150/6. Currency 27*, Austin 3*.
57ov [. . . . nb . 1] 149/6. Currency 26*, Austin 3*. Probing over by Collins
56ov [. . . . . .] 147/6. Currency 23*, Austin 3*. Hinds switches to the Southern End and resumes with a maiden.
55ov [. . 1 . . 3nb .] 147/6. Currency 23*, Austin 3*. Stringent over from Collins as usual barring the no ball.
Back after tea and Collins will start us off.
We're still have a difficult time technically over in Antigua. TT won the toss and are batting. They are 125/2 with Lendl Simmons on 69 and Jason Mohammed on 35. Brandon Bess and Esaun Crandon have a wicket each. The men back in the pavilion are Justin Guillen and captain Daren Ganga.
TEA: CCC are 142 for 6 with Romel Currency on 23 and Ryan Austin on 2. That was Barbados' session. Of that there can be no question. 4 wickets for went since lunch and CCC added 75 runs.
54ov [. . . . nb 1 1] 142/6. Currency 23*, Austin 2*. Uh oh! Tino bowls Currency with a no ball. Lucky escape in the last over before tea.
53ov [. . . . 1 .] 139/6. Currency 22*, Austin 1*. Hinds continues and rushes through his over.
52ov [. . . 1lb . nb .] 138/6. Currency 21*, Austin 1*. Tino's working up some pace. Currency and Austin escape for now.
51ov [. . . . . .] 136/6. Currency 21*, Austin 1*. Hinds continues. Maiden.
50ov [. . . 1 . 1] 136/6. Currency 21*, Austin 1*. Currency is the key now. He must bat to the end and the lower order must hang in there with him. Not sure Tino believes that tailenders should be bowled anything but short balls.
49ov [. . . . 1 .] 134/6. Currency 20*, Austin 0*. Charles changes ends and is now at the Pavilion End. Cramps up in the right leg (or was it a pulled hamstring?) after the 4th delivery and has to receive on field attention from the physio. He cannot continue and Hinds finishes the over.
48ov [4 1 1 . W nb .] 133/6. Currency 19*, Austin 0*. CCC sinking further and further. They need a late order rally to get up to 200 but that too is look optimistic.
WICKET! K McLean c wkt Browne b Best 16. 132/6. That's what you call a healthy edge and Tino Best gets his first wicket. Further trouble for CCC. Ryan Austin comes out.
47ov [. . . . . .] 126/5. Currency 18*, McLean 11*. Ryan Hinds brings himsef on. He's coming off an 8 wicket match haul against Leewards. Starts with a maiden.
46ov [. . . 1 . 4] 126/5. Currency 18*, McLean 11*. Cut away by McLean to the point boundary. Not tight enough is Charles.
Our commentary from Antigua (TT v GY) is delayed due to another round of technical difficulties. We're working feverishly to get it online and will commence once it is sorted through. We ask for your patience as we get over these teething problems.
45ov [. . . . . 1lb] 121/5. Currency 17*, McLean 7*. No one can explain where the first delivery passed. It passed on the inside of Currency's bat and how it missed the stumps no one knows. Even the umpire almost joined the Bajan players in putting his hands to his head in amazement.
44ov [2 2 . . . .] 120/5. Currency 17*, McLean 7*. A pair of twos for McLean. Gets back and cuts behind and in front of point. Looking even better is McLean. No rabbit.
43ov [. . . 1 . 1] 116/5. Currency 17*, McLean 3*. Roach has toned down the pace a little and McLean is showing competence with the bat.
42ov [. . . 1 2 .] 114/5. Currency 16*, McLean 2*. McLean off the mark steering past second slip for 2.
41ov [. 1 . W nb . 4b] 111/5. Currency 15*, McLean 0*. Massive breakthrough by Roach which is his first wicket of the tournament.
WICKET! F Reifer b Haynes b Roach 0. 106/5. Played back and edged it onto his pad and Haynes scrambled in from short leg and took it about an inch from the ground. CCC in trouble here. Roach thoroughly enjoyed that wicket, waving his arms like a windmill in hurricane. His teammates are around him jumping up in delight.
40ov [W . . . . .] 105/4. Currency 14*, Reifer 0*. Wicket maiden for Charles who gets his third wicket.
WICKET! C Walton lbw Chares 5. 105/4. Commentator's curse! Plays forward and umpire Weekes takes a long time, thinks and rethinks then raises the finger. The tall imposing figure of Captain Floyd Reifer walks in.
39ov [. . 1 2 . .] 105/3. Currency 14*, Walton 5*. Roach is toying with Currency. Playing, missing, playing missing. Fine fast bowling. These two batsmen have to buckle down and consolidate after the loss of Parris. A substantial partnership is needed for CCC.
38ov [. 1 1 . . .] 102/3. Currency 12*, Walton 4*. Ordinary fielding to his own bowling from Charles. Lets it go for a single.
37ov [. . . . 2 .] 100/3. Currency 11*, Walton 3*. 100 up with a steer past gully for 2.
36ov [. 1 W . . 1] 98/3. Currency 11*, Walton 1*. A blow CCC can ill afford. Parris was batting well and needed to play a big hand. Walton is in to join Currency. And Walton is allowed to get off the mark with a simple single to long off. Not sure why long off to the new batsman but that's how it is.
WICKET! N Parris b Haynes b Chares 49. 97/3. Gone just 1 short of fifty! Turns it straight into Jason Haynes at forward short leg. Charles gets his second wicket.
35ov [. . . . . .] 96/2. Parris 49*, Currency 10*. Top over. On target. Test match bowling this. And that's what you call pace. Straight away he's giving it some speed and moving it away from Currency who's playing and missing mostly.
34ov [. . . 2 1 4] 96/2. Parris 49*, Currency 10*. Cut away by Currency for 4, Short, wide and given the treatment. Roach is back to replace Collins. Some fire after lunch is to be had.
33ov [. . . 3 . . ] 89/2. Parris 46*, Currency 6*. Parris on drives but that's a long boundary and he gets 3.
32ov [. 1 . 2 . 1] 86/2. Parris 43*, Currency 6*.
31ov [. . . 1 1 .] 82/2. Parris 40*, Currency 5*.
30ov [. . . . . .] 80/2. Parris 39*, Currency 4*. Maiden from Charles.
29ov [. . . 1 . .] 80/2. Parris 39*, Currency 4*. Currency looking more certain against Collins now. Actually getting bat on ball. Gets off strike to him too.
28ov [. 4 . 4 . 4] 79/2. Parris 39*, Currency 3*. Charles bowling from the Southern End. Two very poor short balls from Charles pulled away for boundaries by Parris. And what a drive through covers from Parris now to close the over. The most expensive over in the innings. That was Hopperesque that cover drive.
27ov [. . . . . .] 67/2. Parris 27*, Currency 3*. Maiden. Collins is smiling his frustration away. He's beating Currency's bat at will here. Playing and missing as if he's not picking up the ball. It's sliding across him and he's not making contact at all.
The sweet sounds of reggae genius Tarrus Riley accompany the umpires and Barbadian players as they head out after lunch. It has to be said, this selector has it right when it comes to music for cricket. He rivals Chickies in Antigua and the Renaissance guys in the Sabina Park Mound. Good stuff to accompany this wonder cool breeze coming off the nearby mountain. Oh what blissful cricketing conditions here in Nevis. Grove Park is a rustic venue but a wonderful atmosphere all round. A few more fans expected in this afternoon as they get off work etc. Pedro Collins starts after lunch.
We're about to resume after lunch. CCC on 67/2 with Simon Jackson on 27 and Romel Currency on 3.
LUNCH: CCC are 67/2. Necoli Parris is on 27 and Romel Currency on 3. Pedro Collins and Nicolai Charles are the wicket-takers for Barbados. An even session one would have to say, or perhaps Barabdos are a shade ahead having dislodged both openers but the way they bowled they could be disappointed at not having another 2 down and CCC would be happy not to be 4 down after heaps of plays and misses and close-call raps on the pads. Parris has hung in there and played some terific shots while Currency is not looking comfortable but is in still. Jackson was playing well until he misjudged Charles and perished.
26ov [. . . . 3 .] 67/2. Parris 27*, Currency 3*. Now that's lunch.
25ov [. . . 4 . .] 64/2. Parris 27*, Currnecy 0*. That's not lunch. We'll have one more it seems.
24ov [1 . . . . . ] 60/2. Parris 23*, Currency 0*. Currency does not look comfortable against Charles. Last over before lunch coming up. Best will bowl it.
23ov [. 1 . . . .] 59/2. Parris 22*, Currency 0*. Stoute continues to be miserly. Good bowling in tying up an end. Just 1 run from his last 3 overs. Charles continues.
22ov [. W . . 4b .] 58/2. Parris 21*, Currency 0*. Successful first over for leg spinner Charles who is big Sulieman Benn's (who is injured) replacement in this Barbadian side.
WICKET! S Jackson c Richards b Charles 22. 54/2. Nicolai Charles strikes with his second ball. Jackson pushed forward defensively, got an edge and was taken low down at second slip by Richards. In comes Romel Currency.
21ov [. . . . . .] 54/1. Jackson 22*, Parris 21*. Consecutive maidens by Stoute. Not doing anything fancy, just bowling short of a good lenght outside off stump. Nagging line and length.
20ov [. . . . . 2] 54/1. Jackson 22*, Parris 21*. Almost consecutive maidens until Jackson clipped a straighter ball off his legs in front of square for 2.
19ov [. . . . . .] 52/1. Jackson 20*, Parris 21*. Maiden by Stoute.
18ov [1 . 1 . . .] 52/1. Jackson 20*, Parris 21*. Roach has moved to around the wicket now at that Southern End.
17ov [. 4 . . . .] 50/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 20*. Cut away for 4 by Parris and the 50 is up. Played that well Parris.
16ov [nb . . . . . .] 46/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 16*. Just outside the off stump is Roach. Might want to get it a little straighter on this pitch though.
15ov [2 . . . . .] 45/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 16*. Just 2 runs from Stoute's 2nd over. Truth be told CCC have done well to have lost just one wicket by this stage. Collins bowled a top spell and Tino was on fire but maybe a few short balls too many. That's Tino though.
14ov [. nb 1 . . . .] 43/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 14*. Oh yes! It's beginning to take off now. Roach is working up some steam and a man with his pace will never be afraid to drop it short as he did a couple of times in this over. Not quite up to menacing yet though and on this pitch that will take some doing but if anyone in this match can it is him.
13ov [. . . . 1 .] 41/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 13*. Collins is off and Kevin Stoute is on. He should be a worry for CCC as he always seems to pick up a wicket from no where. And he starts off by hanging outside the off stump.
12ov [. . 1 . . .] 40/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 12*. Roach is warming up. Not at top speed by any means as yet. Just a single from the over though. And now for drinks.
11ov [. . . . . .] 39/1.Jackson 19*, Parris 11*. Maiden over by Collins. He's producing a fine spell of controlled seam bowling now. A ha! The folks watching have been wanting this. Kemar Roach comes on for Tino Best.
10ov [. . . 2 nb . .] 39/1. Jackson 19*, Parris 11*. Oh my! That touched something and was brilliantly taken low down by Dale Richards at first slip. The Bajan players are running everywhere celebrating but Parris is suggesting it came off his forearm and umpire Weekes agrees with him. Not out it was.
9ov [. . 2 . . 1] 36/1. Jackson 19* Parris 9*.
Live score updates are up now from the Jamaica v Leewards game at Warner Park over in St Kitts. And Leewards are in trouble at 13/2. We still have not sorted out all technical issues so bear with us a little longer before we are up and running fully from Warner Park. Thanks for your patience.
8ov [1 . . . 1nb .] 33/1. Jackson 19, Parris 6*.
7ov [. . . . . .] 30/1. Jackson 18*, Parris 5*. A maiden from Collins. Playing and missing was Parris.
6ov [. 4 . 1 4 1] 30/1. Jackson 18*, Parris 5*. Jackson gets a thick edge just short of second slip and it goes for four. Parris gets off the mark by squeezing it fine past the keeper to the boundary.
5ov [. 1 . W . .] 20/1. Jackson 13*, Parris 0*. Pedro is operating over the wicket and getting the ball to wobble about. You'd think he's bowling on an overcast morning in England. Batsmen are missing and being hit on the pad at will. It's bright sunshine here though.
WICKET! O Phillips c wkt Browne b Collins 7. 20/1. Pedro got that one to move away a shade and gets a loud nick. Browne finishes the job. Phillips - the leading run scorer after round one - fails for the first time in the competition. Necoli Parris is the new man in.
4ov [. . . . . .] 19/0. Phillips 7*, Jackson 12*. CRACK! Tino smacks Phillips on his shoulder. That was quick! And it had to have hurt too. He's steaming in is Tino and he's as happy as a raging bull. There is lots of chat out there. Woosh! Wild swipe by Phillips. Very uncharacteristic. He's usually composed. The Bajan players are clearly unhappy with Phillips for not walking in Tino's previous over.
3ov [. . 4 . 4 .] 19/0. Phillips 7*, Jackson 12*. Jackson guides past slip for boundaries. Too fine for third man to get to.
Live text commentary and score will also come from the other two matches. Jamaica v Leewards at Warner Park in St Kitts will be online in a few, Just sorting out some technical issues there and the Guyana v Trinidad & Toabgo historic day/night game starts at 1pm
2ov [. 2 . . . 4] 11/0. Phillips 7*, Jackson 4*. The Bajan players are not happy. That looked to have smashed the edge of Phillip's bat on the way to Browne but umpire Vincent Weekes is unmoved. Tino has to go to sqaure leg to calm down.
1ov [1 . . . . 4] 5/0. Phillips 1*, Jackson 4*. Phillips off the mark straight away and Jackson gets off the mark with 4 through square leg. Tino Best to bowl from the southern end.
The umpires - Luther Kelly and Vincent Weeks - are out on the field and Barbados led by Ryan Hinds are out. Pedro Collins to start of with left arm seam.
A minute's silence to be observed before the start of play for Haiti earthquake victims. A sad disaster which has rocked the entire Caribbean. Join us for a few momentums of silence in remembrance of the many lost lives if you can.
Barbados XI: Ryan Hinds (captain), Dale Richards, Jason Haynes, Kirk Edwards, Shamarh Brooks, Kevin Stoute, Patrick Browne (wicketkeeper), Nikolai Charles, Tino Best, Kemar Roach, Pedro Collins
CCC XI: Floyd Reifer (captain), Omar Phillips, Simon Jackson, Nekoli Parris, Romel Currency, Chadwick Walton (wicketkeeper), Kevin McLean, Ryan Austin, Kavesh Kantasingh, Gavin Wallace, Jason Bennett
TOSS: CCC have won the toss and will bat.
Both teams have made one change. Barbados have dropped Kyle Hope for Tino Best and CCC have brought in Jamaican spinner Gavin Wallace for Khishmar Catlin.
Welcome to Grove Park in Nevis. Beautiful warm sunshine and just as perfect conditions for cricket. A parched outfield looks ready-made for runs. A bit of uncertainty around how the pitch is likely to play.
Match starts 10am Friday 15th @ Grove Park, Charlestown, Nevis.

Barbados 293 (Dale Richards 67, Sulieman Benn 54; Tamar Lambert 3/63) & 54/0 (Dale Richards 31 not out, Kraigg Brathwaite 20 not out).
VICTORY: Barbados win by 10 wickets!!!!
9ov [. 1 . . . 4] 54/0: Richards 31*, Brathwaite 20*. Brathwaite ends this one-sided contest with a classic cover drive for four off Dawes that advertises why he is rated so highly.
8ov [. . 1 . 4 .] 49/0: Richards 30*, Brathwaite 16*. Brathwaite late dabs to the vacant third man off Bernard.

LI 192 all out

Well no suprise there, Chanderpaul receiving the Man of the Match Award for his 105* and 32* holding both innings together as clearly he was the difference in the match.
